Can I assign an app to the double click of optical joystick? (kinda like iPhone favorites). Also, is there a way to replace the default dialer app with another app? i.e. when I click "Phone" on the home screen, is there a way to bring up a different dialer app?

I got my Incredible on Tuesday and have been enjoying the heck out of it.The weird thing is the optical joystick came off. I noticed a hole where the joystick used to be.I called Verizon tech support last night and they are sending me a replacement phone which I should get on Monday. Has anyone else experienced this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is just an issue with my dinc, but the joystick is too sensitive - to the point of being unusable. Every time I try to navigate screens, lists, or text in a message or web site address it acts as if I've pushed it no matter how light I touch it or move my finger across it. Is anyone else having this issue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedLet me preface this by saying that I just unrooted my phone and downgraded from Froyo, so I'm not interesting in rooting again if that's the only solution that you have.Is there a setting to adjust the speed at which the cursor (in text boxes, emails, sms, etc) scrolls through each letter? It seems the fast I move my finger across it, the slower it moves, but the slower I move my finger the faster in moves. Is there a setting I can adjust? I compare this to choosing how fast the cursor on your PC moves when you move your mouse.

Someone was able to write a program for iphone to do this but they won't for android. They are fanbois so no dice.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRight now, when I press the button on my headphones, the stock music app plays/pauses. Double-click dials voicemail, rather than skipping to the next song. Is there any way to fix this? I tried TuneWiki, which is nice, but it crashed on me a couple of times. It behaves properly, but I'd obviously like it to keep playing.I realize I might be nit-picking with this one, but I screwed up my shoulder and will be in a sling riding the metro to work tomorrow. I'd like to keep the music playing and be able to change tracks using my one good hand, especially since it's likely that I'll be standing up.

Well I've had alot of people messaging me about converters for music, video, photos etc and I decided to just post up a thread for people to ask questions if they need to. Anyways, the best converter that I could reccomend, HANDS DOWN for any needs whether they be for your phone or not is the SUPERC converter which can be found here
With it you can convert virtually any media type into any other media type. For starters here are some steps...
1. Drag your file to be converted into the que.
2. Double click on it to bring up the detailed info.
3. Select the output you want from the drag down menu at the top left
4. Match up the info for the video and audio (if applicable) to the details you brought up about the clip. Yes this is a bit techy, but its really simple, just read and click on the buttons. If your framerate or bitrate doesnt match up, always pick the lower one. I.E: If you have a framrate of 96, and the options are 108 and 90, always pick the lowest of the two.
5. Just click convert! and wait until it gives you an output file size!
Yes it may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but its great to be able to convert anything into, well, anything. I use it for all my converting needs, and even if your not a techy person, even if you dont know what a bitrate is (shame on you! haha jk) its still a great program which is easy to use, whether you have circuit boards instead of brains or not.

If I manage to open an app, the selection keeps going to the right. For example, if I am in a text message and am trying to move the cursor to a previous work to correct spelling, the cursor keeps moving the right and down on its own. View 41 Replies View RelatedLast night I was hammering out some emails while watching TV. The only light in the room was from the Inc and the TV. I could not get the track pad to register my motions. I attempted to angle the phone to face the TV but still got no response.
I'm thinking this is a design failure. An optical device shouldn't be on a phone if it can't be used in the dark. Seems to me that the light sensor would affect the track pad's sensitivity based on the ambient light.
Is there any work around to getting the track pad to work in the dark?
Sometimes I feel as if my optical track pad moves and responds too slowly. Does anyone know if there's a way to adjust track pad movement?

I am still experiencing phantom swipes (only to the left) on my Incredible. Putting a piece of duck tape over the optical track pad seems to resolve it. This has been ongoing for about a month and a half. I have a warantee but really don't want to wait for my new phone/get one of the newer LCD phones. I have been able to recreate the phantom swipe by moving the phone under different light sources. This is so annoying.
I have tried everything, there isn't dust on my track pad and its not a matter of grounding. I really hope this is not a hardware issue. I got my Inc by pre-order (original with AMOLED). I have been able to toy with some of the newer Inc builds (with the LCD screen). I have noticed the trackpad is more flush with the unit, this leads me to believe they reworked the hardware to fix an issue. Anyone else with the original AMOLED Inc builds experiencing this?
Is there anyway that I can set up my Incredible to use the button where the optical trackpad is to power the screen?

If I switch homescreens back and forth with the trackball I get glitchy lag. Also the app tray is laggy. I also notice lag in the game doodle jump. Whats causing this.
