HTC Incredible :: Optical Button Work Same As Power Button On Top Of Phone?
Jun 10, 2010does anyone know if its possible or what app would be used to have the optical button work the same as the power button on the top of the phone. so if you push the button it would light the display up. or maybe its not even possible.

May 1, 2010I got my Incredible on Tuesday and have been enjoying the heck out of it.The weird thing is the optical joystick came off. I noticed a hole where the joystick used to be.I called Verizon tech support last night and they are sending me a replacement phone which I should get on Monday. Has anyone else experienced this?

May 14, 2010I'm not sure if this is just an issue with my dinc, but the joystick is too sensitive - to the point of being unusable. Every time I try to navigate screens, lists, or text in a message or web site address it acts as if I've pushed it no matter how light I touch it or move my finger across it. Is anyone else having this issue?

Aug 18, 2010Let me preface this by saying that I just unrooted my phone and downgraded from Froyo, so I'm not interesting in rooting again if that's the only solution that you have.Is there a setting to adjust the speed at which the cursor (in text boxes, emails, sms, etc) scrolls through each letter? It seems the fast I move my finger across it, the slower it moves, but the slower I move my finger the faster in moves. Is there a setting I can adjust? I compare this to choosing how fast the cursor on your PC moves when you move your mouse.

Apr 29, 2013Using Android, is it possible to automatically make your phone initiate a screen gesture (like a swipe across the screen) whenever you hit the power button, then proceed to turn off the phone? I know it's a very weird question, but I have my reasons.
I imagine it's possible with some type of app like Tasker, but I don't know if Tasker can initiate screen movements that imitate a finger moving across the screen in a point and direction of your choice.

Apr 28, 2010I was curious about this myself, and i have seen numerous post about this on the forums complaining about having to unlock with the top button
I searched about nexus since it is similar and saw a few things about the app LOCKBOT, i recommend you atleast try the free version and see, it gives you unlock with the trackpad button and the ability to do custom lockscreen with different styles like Iphone, and different android locks. THis was one grip i didnt like about sense. Stock Android has the ability to swipe to unlock or swipe the other way to mute sounds, which is a nice feature, although i prefer my iphones switch the best
The bad...Ive read stuff about it crashing and being laggy, now i havnt experiended this on the INC, it runs super smooth. But i have been having a few times where the front button will not unlock the phone, maybe an update will fix this or something, but its worth a shot to look at.

Jun 17, 2010This is a problem I've noticed lately that is just killing my battery life. My Incredible never dims on its own. If I press the power button the screen will shut off but lets say I get a text and then I hit the power button, the screen comes on. I respond to the text and then hit home and put my phone down on the desk. The screen will stay on indefinitely. Not charging, completely unplugged the screen will just stay on. Has anyone run accross this and does anyone have any ideas on how to get it to time out again?

Apr 29, 2010I would gladly pay money (and i'm sure a lot of eris -> incredible users would too) for an app/patch to give me the option to use an alternative key/button (menu/home button, or even vol rocker?) to wake up the phone when it's in sleep mode. It was one of the major reasons why I ended up returning the moto droid for an eris (the eris has a power button on the bottom of the phone). Would root be required for this kind of mod?

Sep 14, 2010Okay so I know you can turn the screen ON with the Track Pad. Using a custom ROM. I have my phone set up this way, but is there an app out there that allows you to turn it OFF again, again using the track pad?
It seems weird that you can do one, but not the other, and I'd rather just press the button facing me, than have to pick my phone up to use the power button. Just to kill the screen.

I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.
