Sometimes I feel as if my optical track pad moves and responds too slowly. Does anyone know if there's a way to adjust track pad movement?

Can someone tell me if the optical track pad is backlit? Ie the Droid Eris track ball is and can be setup to flash (pulse) for missed calls, sms, emails, etc. Just wanted to make sure that feature wasn't dropped.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI think my optical track pad is not calibrated. Sometimes (often) when I unlock my phone, the screens start automatically shifting to the right. If I manage to open an app, the selection keeps going to the right. For example, if I am in a text message and am trying to move the cursor to a previous work to correct spelling, the cursor keeps moving the right and down on its own. Is there a way to calibrate the optical trackpad? Anyone else having this issue?

View 41 Replies View RelatedLast night I was hammering out some emails while watching TV. The only light in the room was from the Inc and the TV. I could not get the track pad to register my motions. I attempted to angle the phone to face the TV but still got no response.
I'm thinking this is a design failure. An optical device shouldn't be on a phone if it can't be used in the dark. Seems to me that the light sensor would affect the track pad's sensitivity based on the ambient light.
Is there any work around to getting the track pad to work in the dark?
I am still experiencing phantom swipes (only to the left) on my Incredible. Putting a piece of duck tape over the optical track pad seems to resolve it. This has been ongoing for about a month and a half. I have a warantee but really don't want to wait for my new phone/get one of the newer LCD phones. I have been able to recreate the phantom swipe by moving the phone under different light sources. This is so annoying.
I have tried everything, there isn't dust on my track pad and its not a matter of grounding. I really hope this is not a hardware issue. I got my Inc by pre-order (original with AMOLED). I have been able to toy with some of the newer Inc builds (with the LCD screen). I have noticed the trackpad is more flush with the unit, this leads me to believe they reworked the hardware to fix an issue. Anyone else with the original AMOLED Inc builds experiencing this?
Basically my track-pad will sometimes have no effect on the cursor in the keyboard. I dont think its a hardware issue.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay so I know you can turn the screen ON with the Track Pad. Using a custom ROM. I have my phone set up this way, but is there an app out there that allows you to turn it OFF again, again using the track pad?
It seems weird that you can do one, but not the other, and I'd rather just press the button facing me, than have to pick my phone up to use the power button. Just to kill the screen.
1) Recently i have noticed that the optical track pad is not working although i can press it.
2) It has also decided that it wants to turn itself off at random times possibly twice a day.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix these??
When i run my finger over the optical sensor from left to right it seems like the button is dipped to the right a little. Anyone else?

also sometimes when I lock the phone and then when I unlock it, it doesn't always go to the home screen. it might jump around.
Sometimes when I hit the home screen or down error right above it, the desk clock appears.
this is all very strange, just wondering what all of your thoughts are. Could it be a particular app that I downloaded.
When I press the unlock button, and then flick down on the unlock screen, my phone sometime just moves from the main screen over 1 or 2 screens to the left. Not everytime, but randomly it just started happening. Is it an app? A setting?
View 3 Replies View RelatedBefore Froyo, I was able to charge my phone in my car and use the GPS. Now, with Froyo, my phone charges way too slowly. Infact, my phone actually DISCHARGES while uses the Navigation when plugged in!! I have two questions:
1. Is Froyo designed to slow charge the phone?
2. If so, it makes my GPS setup defective. How do I revert back from 2.2. to 2.1?
I have had the Droid Incredible for a month and a half now and my text messages are filling up. One girl I have 2500 messages from and the loading is pretty slow. Its pretty annoying waiting to reply and everything else on the phone is lightning fast so I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on how to have them speed up or settings that would help. Please tell me anything that would make these messages load faster.
P.S. I understand deleting the messages will make it fast but erasing them takes way too long and its annoying. Also i need a lot of my messages.
I got my Incredible on Tuesday and have been enjoying the heck out of it.The weird thing is the optical joystick came off. I noticed a hole where the joystick used to be.I called Verizon tech support last night and they are sending me a replacement phone which I should get on Monday. Has anyone else experienced this?

View 8 Replies View RelatedLet me preface this by saying that I just unrooted my phone and downgraded from Froyo, so I'm not interesting in rooting again if that's the only solution that you have.Is there a setting to adjust the speed at which the cursor (in text boxes, emails, sms, etc) scrolls through each letter? It seems the fast I move my finger across it, the slower it moves, but the slower I move my finger the faster in moves. Is there a setting I can adjust? I compare this to choosing how fast the cursor on your PC moves when you move your mouse.

Is there a way to adjust this? I was at a concert last night and tried to record a few clips, and when I got home, everything is muffled as hell. I found someone else who posted a video of the concert and was maybe ~15-20' from where I was at, yet theres is clear. I doubt it was from another incredible, but I've had this issue with digital cameras too. Any way I can fix this so I can get some good clips next time i go to a concert?
