HTC Incredible :: Zagg Invisible Shield Installation
Apr 30, 2010
Is it just me, or are they hard to put on? I used one of the 50% off coupons to pick up a shield for 10 bucks. When I got it, it took me 3-4 times to put it on, and still there were bubbles, even after 24 hours of drying.I contacted them and they were pretty much no help as I did everything already that they suggested. So I went to Best Buy today to pick up another one and to have them them install it for $7.99. It looks FANTASTIC. It took him about 3 minutes to do! They did have their own bottle of some liquid not the standard one that came in the package. Anyway, if you have trouble or want it done right, have them do it!

What's your vote? They both look like strong contenders but it also looks like the Inv.Shields are thin and stretchy and the Clarivue are more stiff. Wouldn't stiffness aid in easy installation and fewer bubbles. How do these screens look through polarized sunglasses?

I don't know if this means anything, but I just got a shipping email from ZAGG for my invisible shield HTC EVO 4G. I ordered last week, and it is shipping today. I ordered the screen-only protector, because I plan on using a hard shell case for the back.

Thinking about getting the zagg invisible shield front and back. I'm wondering how you guys like it. Particulary interested in how you guys like it with the back shield.

Looks pretty craptacular right now. I know I'm supposed to give it another 12-24 hours to dry and "cure" (although I seem to recall seeing the timeframe of 24-48 hours on this board, anyone vouch for that?), but I'm a little concerned.Sorry for the huge crappy pic, had to take it with my old phone. But you can see the smears and lines. Those are what I'm worried about. Anyone who's used a Zagg able to comment on whether those disappear in the curing process? I'll be sure to post better pics when it's completely dried for people.

Installed the IS on 2 incredibles this evening.Everything went well, they look great. Just a few tiny bubbles that should dry up.The phones have been "resting" for about 6 hours now. I plan on waiting the full 24 hours before i put the batteries back in and turn them on. I started reading some posts on other forums about how people have messed up their phones with water damage after installing the IS. Just wanted to see if anyone was having any trouble after installing the IS.I tried not to use alot of water, but there was some water coming out from under the IS when i was squeegeeing the bubbles out.Going to be a worrisome 24 hrs.

I bought the zagg at bb today. They installed it and I dont like it at all. It does not look good, the texture is is not smooth, and it does not work well with swype. They said let it cure for 2 days. If i remove it does it come off clean? It may protect good but the cheap ones at verizon look better.

I accidentally ordered too many Zagg Invisible Shields Lol. I only ordered one extra so instead of going through Zagg to get a refund I decided to give back to community. Just send me a short PM explaining why you need it. I will pick my winner sometime tomorrow and hopefully have it sent in the mail by Wednesday. It's just the front cover screen and install kit.

A week ago I received the Invisible Shield from Zagg in the mail and was very excited. I read the instructions, saw some installation videos on youtube and after 1 hour of preparation i was ready for the install. The installation process is a nightmare as you have to apply the solution while keeping the shield from sticking to itself and its a PIA to align correctly. I installed the back cover first and after many tries I had it correctly aligned but it didn't fit perfectly meaning there were areas that the shield did not cover completeley such as corners which are the most prone to damage. Next I installed the screen protector OMFG what a POS. It had bubbles all over even after using the squegee card. I thought I'd give it a few days for them to clear up as Zagg claims that within 24 hrs they disappear. They did not go away and it made the screen look bad especially on a white background. Needless to say the smaller pieces are also a nightmare to install. Anyways, today I saw my phone and got tired of looking at that Zagg crap and at the sticky feel it gives the phone and took it off and went back to what I had before.I had the siliicone case from the sprint store and the screen protector from the sprint store which had worked perfectly since november: not a single scratch and no dust problems. So really beware of the Zagg products, at least I got it for free so it didn't hurt to throw it away.

Does anyone use the Zagg full body shield and if so what do you think about it? I have the neoprene case with mine and the Zagg screen protector though I heard these cases cause dust to collect through the volume rocker and thus getting under the screen.

And my finger doesn't glide over the screen as easily as it did before. I am hoping it is just some residue that will come off. Has anyone experienced this before? I tried wiping the screen down with a damp cloth but it didn't help.

I recently ordered the invisibleshield protector for the screen of my droid, but it seems the concensus around here is that boxwave is the best.Is there anyone here who uses invisibleshield who can tell me what they think of it? I may send it back for a boxwave when it arrives if i decide to.

After installing my invisible shield this morning, I turned the device over to replace the batter and low and behold the darn thing is a slightly deeper pink in the corner. The indicator itself isn't totally shot, but just the corner.Anything I can/should do, or am I just SOL?

Does anyone happen to have a ZAGG coupon that I may be able to use? I just registered but it only gave me one for 10%, which is probably the lowest amount.

I have an extra Zagg and an extra PS that I'm thinking about cutting and sizing to fit the camera lens. I'm opposed to using any kind of cover, but these leaves the camera cover exposed. The only potential problem I see is my photo shots coming out blurry, and I'll most likely use the PS as it is a little bit more transparent than the Zagg.

I put a Zagg Invisible shield on but did not like the super glossy orange peel look so I removed it. I checked out the steinheils website and some youtube vids and they look really nice. Is the only difference between the steinheil crystal and the anti-fingerprint the finish? I'm not too sure I'd like the matte finish as I would think it would slightly dull the brightness of the display. I've also seen the Phantom skinz and the orange peel effect seems to be a bit better than on the Zagg. Anyone with experience using both Zagg and Phantom SKinz products how do they compare? Does either of the two have a definitive advantage over the other in terms of appearance and feel of the coating while sliding your finger over it.

I have recently came across a problem with my text messaging on my HTC Incredible.. I was deleting a thread because it was too large. As it was deleting I received a text from that person and now my phone thinks there is a new message that I have not checked and it keeps popping up in my status bar. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Do I really need to install these apps on my own one by one, or is there a way to make it install automatically? This is going to be a pain if I need to sit here and select Install then Done for each freakin app.

I've rooted my Dinc and got skyraider 2.5.2 with full backup through titanium and nandroid.
Here are my questions.
1) Is there a way to transfer the exact status of my previous contact to my new rom? I've linked and synced all my contacts with facebook and stuffs and it looks like all those links have been disconnected. I don't want to link again manually.
2) Why does titanium not backup SMS? I've restored my titanium backup and none of my SMS got restored. Luckly I've used SMS Backup & Restore to backup, so that's not a problem, but I was wondering if I'm misssing something in titanium.
3) When I'm restoring apps with titanium, I have to keep giving permissions to install apps (clicking install button). I have around 80 apps, and I would much prefer if it's automatic without asking for my permission. Is there a way to do that?

As advised by the experts, I did a factory reset when my phone went wacky on me. I didn't actually have Froyo installed when this happened, but as soon as I did the reset, I received a system prompt concerning the available upgrade and took it. My phone works better now, but but battery performance is about the same.
I have also been advised that battery performance (as in better than ever), among other things works best with a clean install, not the upgrade. Since I did a factory reset before taking the upgrade, I wonder if this is equivalent to a clean install, or if the clean install would still be worth my effort. If it's the latter, there is only one resource for clean install files which I have been referred to, which cannot help me because I don't have an XP machine available (I did try it on Windows 7). If a clean install is, in any case, the best option, are there any Win7 installation files available for Froyo?

This is a question to all the longer term users of the phone. I've had several phones before, all new and shiny in the beginning but before too long their facade starts to come off. Finishing, body, etc. How good is the desire in this respect?
- How many nicks have you got on yours? Does it get scratched easily? I mean the touchscreen as well as the body.
- Does the body colour come off easily?
- Are there any parts of the phone where dust accumulates?
- Does the battery cover show signs of becoming loose?
- Do the volume rocker keys become loose?
Can the phone take a couple of falls? I've been handling my Desire like my own baby but it's only a matter of time before it slips from my hands I feel. Also I simply love the look of the phone, and don't want to put on a silicone or a body shield but if it's really necessary I shall.

It fell off the bumber, no insurance, it got rolled over a few times. It still works fine, but the screen is completely shattered. I got a new one off ebay, actually did good, kept looking and got a brand new one, with the front cover (didn't have to separate the LCD from the glass) for $79. When I was taking it apart, instead of peeling up the whole information sticker off of the EMI shield, I peeled the thin layer of plastic off of it. My question is, is the metal that the information label is stuck to the EMI shield by itself? I would think that it is, but I want to make sure that the sticker is not some type of special material that has something to do with electromagnetic interference, and that by not putting the sticker back on I am subjecting myself or someone else to EMI. I know it is a weird question, but I'm just curious, does anybody know the answer? Here is a link to the part I am talking about.
