HTC Hero :: Want Personal Ringtones / Alarm Sounds / Notifications

Jan 13, 2010

I am a new owner of the HTC Hero and I tried to customize the ring tones and alarm sounds by using the directions provided by leaky on the tread "HTC Hero: Tips, Tricks & Useful Apps" but unfortunately this did not work out for my Hero. My SD card appeared as DCIM and I had to rename it to SD card and then on the MEDIA folder I added an AUDIO folder in which I added three separate files. One named ring tones, one named alarms and on named notifications as directions provided by thread. Then I added the appropriate .mp3 files to each folder while having the Hero plugged in with my PC.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Different Sounds For Message And Alarm

Nov 22, 2010

I post this thread to ask whether there is a way to set different sounds for message and alarm notification. I have a cool sound set for message notification (something like "Message arrives"). However, in the setting, there are only Phone Ringtone(for incoming calls) and Notification Ringtone(for both message and alarm notification. Therefor, when I do something like plug-in my phone to PC, the message ringtone is played, which is quite annoying. My question is that is there any way to set the separate sounds for message and alarm notifications? (maybe an app)

Android :: App For Custom Reminder Sounds

Oct 4, 2010

I'm new to the forum and have a question that's been driving me crazy! I'm looking for an app like ZenMinder (for blackberry) or Notifyme2 (for iphone) where you can set a custom sound for each individual reminder. For example, if I had reminders to
"take my pills"
"pay light bill"
"pick up milk"
I could make it so that each individual reminder played a different sound. That way I wouldn't have to look at the phone to see what the reminder is but would be cued by the specific sound. I used to use Zenminder on my Blackberry and I loved it because you could custom sounds for each reminder. Is there an app like this for android users?

Jelly Bean :: Alcatel Pop C1 Android 4.2 - No Custom Notification Sounds Possible

May 18, 2014

I just bought an Alcatel One Touch Pop C1 with Android 4.2. The internal memory has the folders /Music, /Ringtones, /Notifications and /media/audio/notifications (among others). My files are all fine oggs with a title tag at the very least.

Copying my oggs into /Music makes them show in the standard music app and they play fine. Immediately after copying them into /Ringtones, they all show up under ringtones and I can set any of them as my ringtone. However, none of it works for notification sounds. The notification sound picker has no Add button (the ringtone picker does) and the picker doesn't list anything except the default sounds (the ringtones picker shows every ogg there is). The option in the Messaging app shows the same unuseful picker. Rebooting doesn't work, having the files in any combination of the folders doesn't work.

In addition, the standard Contacts app doesn't seem to have a way to set a custom notification sound per contact (again, it does for ringtones). I'd like not only calls but also texts from certain contacts to have a custom sound.

Android :: Alarm App With CUSTOM Or SHORT Timeout?

Aug 15, 2010

I've downloaded and tried about 5 or so alarms from the market and now I'm going to stop and ask before I download more. Here is what I'm looking for:All of the stock Droid X alarm functions (Android 2.1) PLUS an ability to change the length of the timeout. This is the kicker, though.I don't want a LONG timeout.I want a SHORT timeout.I'd like to be able to set it at somewhere in the 10-20 second range. Why? I'm using my phone as a day manager in a classroom setting.I need about 10 alarms during the course of the day for very specific reasons (each with their own ringtone).I need them to ramp up to maximum loudness, play for about 10 seconds, then shut off regardless of any action I take. Some of the alarms I've seen do allow a change to the timeout, but it's like 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes. Why not just go custom on the timeout and make everybody happy?
