I'm trying to put a custom boot sound on my Galaxy Ace S5830 which has the Custom ROM: Pacman All in 1 I cant seem to get any sound out of the thing. Things I've tried:

I used CM10.1 for a while on my I9000B and decided to go back to stock gingerbread firmware so I installed a full stock rom with odin. Now I want to go back to CM10.1again but this darn thing will not boot at all. No matter what I do the phone takes me to CWM right after powering it up. This did not happen before when I first upgraded to CM10.1 a few months ago.What could possibly be going wrong now?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung Galaxy Reverb has nobody willing to build CM10 for it, so I decided to take on the task. It built without error - processed the kernel and all the CyanogenMod 10 files just fine and generated the .zip. However, after flashing the .zip I end up with a Samsung logo, then a black screen.
The compile went through without error, so I'm a little lost as to what I should check next. From doing a little searching it seems the kernel is at fault, but what to do about that. Am I supposed to flash the kernel separate from the .zip that the CM builder outputs?
I'm trying to set custom text sounds with Ringdroid, but I'm having an issue. When I create the file, it shows up if I want to set it as the default for all text messages. However, when I go to choose it for a specific contact, the file doesn't show up.

I shut it down and went into hboot and then recovery again. from there i installed wiped it and did a factory reset. then i tried to boot my phone, but nothing again. lastly, i tried a different rom, paranoid android. i installed it and get past the htc quietly brilliant screen, but then it gets stuck at the paranoid android screen. What the hell is wrong? can i get my phone back to normal?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi installed jellyblast on my galaxy ace gt-s5830i, used it for couple of days and then restored cwm backup to stock rom. after about a week the phoen booted itself and got into bootloop. when i tried to wipe data got this mesaage : E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/stl11.
* i tried installing cwm backup
* i tried installing stock rom from samfirmware using odin with/without pit.
* i tried multiformatter for changing ext4 to rfs and then again tried unstalling stock rom and also custom roms.
* i tried wipe firmware package.
* phone enters in bootloop when i flash stock rom using odin and get stuck on boot when i install custom rom through cwm.
compile a ROM based on CM10; what would make that ROM go into a never-ending boot animation on a clean flash (wipe data/cache/dalvik), yet boot up without a problem when dirty flashed over a CM9 variant. One might think that since a dirty flash over CM9 works, what about dirty flashing over a CM10 variant? What if it acts just like performing a clean flash and never gets past the boot animation?
Lets compound this by adding that once a successful boot-up after the dirty CM9 flash has occured; if one goes into recovery and wipes data/cache/dalvik, the ROM goes back into a never-ending boot animation.
I'm trying to make my own boot animation (A simple android kitkat logo), but when I put it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip and reboot the phone, it goes to black screen.
I followed the steps described in that guide and read that post, but they didn't share the solution and the mediafire link is dead. I'm attaching my current bootanimation.zip
I was able to unlock the device and install CWM. I wasn't paying attention when i did a wipe, and didn't see it was unable to wipe /data and several other locations. Its probably because its encrypted. I thought it would have asked for the password to access those areas to wipe them. So i just went ahead and flashed Cyanogenmod 10 nightly build. Now it wont boot past asus logo. Is there a way to flash a rom on an encrypted tablet?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've followed instructions on htcdev.com to unlock my Sensation XL and everything worked fine.
Afterwards I tried to install the ICS custom ROM which I downloaded from this site.
The installation seemed to be successful, but when my phone wanted to reboot, it got stuck on the "HTC" logo.
I also tried another custom ROM and had the same problem.
I just installed a custom bootanimation.zip on my phone and it looked like all was well for a moment until the screen went blank 1/3 or so through the animation. The beginning worked properly and the animation began to play, my old startup sound then play(I never changed that) but then the screen went black several seconds after the start sound played.

I have a Samsung S4 - US Verizon - SCH-i545 Build VRUEMK2. It is currently on version 4.3. I've done some research on rooting my device recently but have not gone through with the procedure. In my research, I've read that once you root your device the boot menu will come up with an unlocked deadbolt symbol and a message that reads something about a Custom Rom.
What's tripping me out is that recently I started my phone and it shows the Custom with unlocked deadbolt on screen, but I have NOT rooted my device. What the heck is going on? Could my equipment be compromised? Are there known apps that would change the boot menu on the S4.... I'm at a loss here and whenever I google this I just find instructions for rooting...
Is there a way to silence the phone while turning it on? I had accidently turned my phone off and caught it durning a class and not thinking about it turned it back on.

But I was recently having some GMail syncing issues and during the troubleshooting for that I uninstalled the latest GMail update and reinstalled it. As a result, GMail is now doing audible notificatrion sounds for new email when before I only had notification in t he notification bar. I can't seem to get it turned off. I still want calendar events and texts to sound so I don't want to silence the phone but I want email and GMail to be silent (Notification icon only).

"take my pills"
"pay light bill"
"pick up milk"
I could make it so that each individual reminder played a different sound. That way I wouldn't have to look at the phone to see what the reminder is but would be cued by the specific sound. I used to use Zenminder on my Blackberry and I loved it because you could custom sounds for each reminder.Is there an app like this for android users?
I have only just bought my HTC desire and i am unable to change the notification sounds to anything but the default sounds in the phone. If you go to messages - menu - settings then notification sounds it only lists the ones in the handset. How does one apply a downloaded sound.

Does anyone know if there's a away to add a custom sound to the app drawer when it's opened. I have an old Apple Newton that I've recorded some of the default sounds off of and one of them is the Newtons app drawer opening and closing. It's pretty cool! I use to use my Newton for everything!! I'd like to customize my Beholds app drawer.

The same goes for ringtones, but the word that shows underneath Phone ringtone in settings would be "None". I've tried putting the file under the Ringtone folder and it still wouldn't work. How do I get custom sounds to work on KitKat/Nexus 5? It can be set all the way up and nothing would happen.
