One feature of my old Env2 that I really miss and can't seem to find on my Incredible is to find the original time that an SMS message was sent. If I have my phone off for an hour, and turn it back on and receive a text message that was sent at some point in that hour, how can I find out when exactly it was sent? I don't see the option in Handcent or in the Stock Messaging app.

I installed and have been using Google Voice for SMS on my new amazing Incredible. I get a notification when I get a new SMS but after I view the notification and close the threaded message box, I can't find how to view the SMS message again to refer back to it or continue the conversation at a later time. Anyone else know?

You would think it would have the actual date and time the peson sent the message. Am I missing something?

I have a bit of a dilliema when it comes to texting on this phone. I am coming from a BB curve. I run a small business and I schedule my employees through text message. I do so 10+ employees at a time. The problem I have found with Handcent and Chomp, is that if I message 10 people "Work Thursday at 315" when they reply to confirm, it doesnt show my original message, so I have no idea what they are confirming because Im often sending out many different times to many different people. Now, the stock messaging app DOES show my original message when they reply, but the sort order is all screwed up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a user who has a Samsung Galaxy S3 and is using the GMail app to read her emails. This all works fine except for when she goes to reply to one. When she replies, everything looks ok and she can even send without a problem. The problem comes when the message is received the original message (below what she typed) just reads "Original sender wrote : " and that's it. That actual original message isn't there.
I've checked all the settings and even recreated the account and it still does it. I also checked the sent messages and it's like it there too so it's definatley something to do with the phone. The only thing we've found is that if you edit the original message in any way - even just by adding a space - it goes through correctly.

Now the rom is the only thing that is running. It doesn't boot with a droid symbol and when I say restore to factory settings it aborts. PLEASE PLEASE help me out if you know a way to fix this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally bit the bullet and switch to the HTC Eris from an Env. I am a heavy texter and live just outside of the service area for Verizon. I have downloaded and am using (and happy with) handcent. I have done some searching between this forum and a few others and have not been able to find an answer to my questions regarding sms messaging. It is very likely that I just wasn't searching for the correct terms, and I did find some answers and others that contradicted themselves, so I apologize in advance for starting a repeat thread if any thread nazis want to lecture me on the rights and wrongs of forum etiquette.
1. Is there anyway to see what time a message was sent? On my Env it would tell me what time the sender sent it as well as the time I received it. I like being able to know when mesages were originally sent.
2. Delivery reports. I get what this does, I've seen that some people have said that it really isn't accurate, but does it really have to send the report as a text message? is there anyway to just get a log or confirmation within messaging details?
3. along the same lines I see that under MMS, there is an option for a read report. Is there anyway to get this for sms?
4. Also, if there are any other texting tips/tricks
Anyway to have a time stamp on every message? I miss being able to tell when I sent the message that says I'll be 20 minutes. and well its just nice to know in general.

I turned Lockpicker off by accident and now it wants me to put my old password in. I have no idea what it is. I'm on attempt #10/10, and I don't want the device to erase my data.I can't turn Lockpicker back on without getting back into the menu system. Is there any way to recover my original password? I would've thought it'd automatically be the same as my Exchange password, but that's not working. Is there any way to refresh the number of attempts I have?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
Under settings theres a setting for screen time out..I put it to 30mins and leave the phone alone...the screen goes out in like 20 seconds...I'm pretty sure that's not 30mins...is this a software or hardware issue?

I am working in an android application that uses a list view. I currently have a XML for the row layout with only one text view. Based on certain conditions, some rows will have one additional button and some other rows may have 2 additional buttons. Can I override the getView method of the adapter class to do this logic? is there any performance issue?

It puts the conversation all over the place and makes it very difficult to follow. I does not happen with my friends with Verizon when we text each other.

For example it is now 8:22PM my time, if I were to get a text message now the alert would have a time of 3:22PM. The other strange thing about it is that when I view the text message inside the text messaging application the time is correct. I just noticed this problem the other day, but it's possible it began when I updated to 2.2 the earlier in the week. Any ideas?
