The Inc has been pulled for quality issues not parts shortages. The same crap is going on in EVO land as well. Many defective units and now an OTA update that bricked 100s of phones. HTC has a real problem on there hands with these handsets.Has HTC Pulled The Incredible For Flaws?

I can not remember the google email address for the phone and now i can not access the phone. Orange customer service has told me to get in touch with google, in order to delete the old account [whatever that may be] but there is no number for google customer service.

I turned Lockpicker off by accident and now it wants me to put my old password in. I have no idea what it is. I'm on attempt #10/10, and I don't want the device to erase my data.I can't turn Lockpicker back on without getting back into the menu system. Is there any way to recover my original password? I would've thought it'd automatically be the same as my Exchange password, but that's not working. Is there any way to refresh the number of attempts I have?

If I have my phone off for an hour, and turn it back on and receive a text message that was sent at some point in that hour, how can I find out when exactly it was sent? I don't see the option in Handcent or in the Stock Messaging app.

View 7 Replies View RelatedLast night, my HTC Incredible randomly locked up -- went totally black, wouldn't respond to anything. After a few tries, I was able to reboot, at which point the phone still seemed to be having trouble (plain black background, clock and weather cutting in and out). After another reboot or two, the phone began to function normally, but all of my contacts that were stored in the phone (as opposed to Google or FB for HTC sense contacts) were deleted. There were approximately 5 random contacts in my "People" section, all seemingly imported from Facebook. Pictures and text messages were still on the phone, but the text messages were only associated with the phone numbers, not with the names. Additionally, when I tried to make a phone call, I got a message that my phone was not authorized. After speaking with Verizon, my phone's calling capabilities were restored. I also used backup assistant to restore most of the contacts to my phone (though for some reason the last time they were backed up was approximately 2 years ago, so I have no numbers that I've gotten in the interim. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened to my phone, and whether there is any way to restore the contacts that I had before last night's crash? Also, is there any way to link all contacts with their Facebook profiles in one batch so that the pictures are matched up, or do I have to do this individually for each one using the "link" feature?

However, if I open the messages icon that comes with the phone, then I can still view all the messages without putting in the password. Does anyone know how to delete or disable the messages program that comes with the phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my phone yesterday, and the verizon rep insisted he needed to setup a new google account on the phone. I didn't feel like arguing since I already have one so I let him do it. Once I got home, I setup my account and sync'd all of my email and contacts, but I cannot delete the original account he setup off the phone. I also cannot sync my calendar through my account. The phone is only wanting to sync the calendar with the account he set up. Can someone offer advice on how to delete the account he setup? BTW, I have gone in and tried to delete the account, but the phone tells me applications need this account and in order to delete it, I will have to reset the phone to all defaults and all information will be lost.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know many of you are getting ready to make the jump from BB to the Incredible. I just had to have a way to back up my contacts.
TO ALL Storm users (and other users with 5.0, not sure if it works with 4.7.. should be able, havent tested it) you CAN backup your phone via backup assistant from Verizon. I did this yesterday and now have all of my contacts backed up on my account.
While the Tour and Storm 2 had the program pushed to their devices, I (and others) were still able to grab the link!
Simply download and install the backup assistant from the tour link.

When logged in to verizonwireless.com, you can simply select all contacts then export them as a .csv file.
After you do that, login to your gmail account (you have to have one to use an android device anyway) and you can import your contacts.

So against my will, I've downloaded ATK.
I noticed that upon killing ANY application that was loaded by the system at start up (besides ATK) would allow the phone to sleep.
So FM Radio, Footprints, Docs to Go....
Killing just one of those or I imagine just about anything else that loaded from the start, stopped my wakelock.
Also I noticed by putting the phone into airplane mode, and then taking it out, seemed to work as well.
I'm trying to disable my text messages from showing on the display when phone is locked. Is there a way to do this?

Is there a way to prevent the contents of the text from showing up before unlocking while still being notified that you have recieved a message?

My Treo when locked, would only show the time, My name and a telephone number. In the case I lost it, some good samaritan could contact me when they realize the phone was useless with out the PIN.
