HTC Incredible :: Signal Bar Reading Wrong / Make It Correct?
May 7, 2010Ok I just hook my phone up to my BMW overblue tooth my car shows 5 bars while the phone shows 1 its a software glitch.

Dec 20, 2009When i turn on my phone it gets a 3G signal then H but after a while it drops to just a G signal. When on a G signal the browser/market/facebook app etc don't work, (says check Internet connection) If i tick the 2G only box then untick it I get 3G/H signal again? Also when i receive phone calls the G/3G/H signal disappears totally (just the 3-4 bars). Once the phone settles on G signal it wont go up to 3G or H signal again without ticking 2G only then unticking? Any ideas whats wrong here?

Samsung Moment :: Signal Strength Apply To Data Signal Or Just Voice Signal?
Nov 4, 2009I want to reach out to others here before I take my Moment back to Best Buy to exchange it for another Moment.
My signal strength fluctuates wildly just sitting in the same spot. With the Hero I got a constant 5 of 6 bars, but the Moment will vary between 0 and 5 of 6 bars. But it's more complicated than that.
It seems that whenever the EVDO data kicks in, it causes the signal strength to drop to 0 or 1 bar. Once the data is idle, the EVDO indicator turns grey and then changes from EV(^v) to EV(D). At that point the single strength will return to 3 or 4 bars.
At times, though not as consistently or often, the EVDO connection will fall back to 1xRTT and will switch between them every few minutes. This will occur even when the signal strength bars are in the 3 to 4 range.
So, the my questions are...
Does the signal strength apply to the data signal or just the voice signal?
Is there any legitimate reason for the signal strength to vary wildly like I've described, even when sitting in the same recliner where the Hero had a constant 5 bar connection and data service that never wavered?
Is anyone else having signal strength and/or data service issues?
Should I exchange the Moment for another Moment or will I likely experience the same issue?

Apr 30, 2010I am having horrible signal problems. My old phone the ENV2 in the same exact seat I am in right now I had full signal strength. The Eris on the other hand, I have none, it flips from no bars to X all day long. I can not receive calls nor can I make a call. Has anyone had problems with theirs? Or what might I be able to do ?

Jun 15, 2010I really like the simplicity of the HTC widget player. True, not a lot of info is given but I do a lot of driving for work and a simple player I can use while in my home screen is great.
I moved over all my music from my old phone which was categorized in folders by artist. Each artist has a folder and a generic image is used in each folder called "folder.jpg" and "cover.jpg" but the player is not reading the image. Will it not do this? I hope I don't have to embed the image into each MP3 because that would be a major PITA. I have around 3000 songs and don't want to have to edit each one. Is there another widget that is better?

Look at this: "123456789ABCDEF" is send and "12345678ABCDEF" is received.

HTC Incredible :: New SD Card Transfer File / Data Reading Off
Jul 23, 2010I searched the Incredible forums and sub forums and could not find an answer to this question, though I am sure it has been asked: If I want to go from my stock 2 GB card to a new card, and I want to preserve data AND have all apps still be able to read whatever data they were reading off the card, do I just transfer the files from one card to the other? I bet the only thing I need to make sure of is that new card is formatted with the same file system as the original card, right? I know copying data from one card to the other will preserve data, but I want to make sure I have no problems with apps, either, after inserting the newer card.

like i tried to write DL (down load) and it auto changed it to florida.. or i went to type Mo Williams, and auto changed to Month Williams.
i came from a storm and the storm would underline miss spelled words but not auto correct it.
i played around with all the settings.. cant get it to just spell check with out auto correction.. are there any apps?

May 7, 2010I have 3 questions about Visual Voicemail in the Incredible.
1. Is the Visual Voicemail that's in the phone the correct one, or do I need to download the app? It seems when I get a Visual Voicemail, it is showing up in with my text messages. Is that how it's supposed to work or is there supposed to be a separate app?
2. Is it just me, or do people who leave messages sound mechanical? The few voicemails that I've received so far sound terrible. They sound like their voices are synthesized or something. When I talk on the phone, people sound totally normal.
3. Do I even need to pay the $2.99 per month that I am paying Verizon for this service? Or is there a free app available that does the same thing?
HTC Incredible :: Unread Count For Messages Not Correct In Green Bubble
Jun 28, 2010Just noticed this within the last week or so. My unread count in the little green bubble for my email inboxes are off. It will have one number before I open my inbox and then another unread count within the app (before downloading any new emails). It then updates itself when I exit the messages app. Do you think it might have something to do with too many widgets on my homescreen? I don't have anything major...1x1 more icons, 1x4 smooth calendar, vibrate toggle, htc clock. Anyone else have this issue?

Aug 2, 2010I just flew from Raleigh, NC (eastern) to Chicago (central). The clock on the phone has the correct time but the weather/clock widget that came with the dinc is still on eastern time. When i tap on the widget the screen it takes me to shows the correct time but when I go back to the homescreen it's back to eastern. Any idea what's going on here?

If I look at the thread, it shows the correct recipient, but it is def not going to the right person. This has happened to me 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Aug 21, 2010Ive had the incredible since release day and within the last 2 weeks ive been having some texting issues. I will send a text to someone and a completely different person will recieve my text. It happened on my original Droid after a few months as well. Ive double checked everytime, and no im not accidentally choosing th wrong person. For instance if i send a text to Jenn (it has her name, her picture and number) but after being sent ill long press the message and it shows someone elses number. Verizon is not being very helpful and its starting to get annoying. Has anyone had this issue as well?

May 29, 2010Anyone else having issues with texts going to the wrong person? I replied to some texts from my buddies and then my GF would reply back asking what i meant. I look through the text history and it appears it was sent to the correct person. Now i am scared to text anyone knowing that it could be sent to the wrong people.
And sometimes when i try to reply to a text it says i need to add a recipient.
I am thinking there is something wrong with the texting on this phone. I got my replacement phone yesterday and the same thing happened.
