I have switched to the Incredible from the BB Storm. In my Storm, I set "u" to auto-correct to "you," "brb" to auto-correct to "be right back," etc. What apps are available that include this? I think Uber Dictionary does, but I'd like to find one that i can use with Swype.

Is there a way to delete auto-correct suggestions? I'm typing to my gf and I get 'bane' instead of 'babe' when I type. I'm not writing a science fiction novel, nothing is the bane of my existance, so how in the hell can I get rid of that godawful word? "Hey Bane of My Existance, want to go out to eat tonight?"

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've downloaded the Swiftkey Keyboard and like it a lot but am a bit frustrated by the autocomplete concept they use. I guess there should be two options: autocorrect spelling mistakes I make and another option for autocompleting words I am trying to type. Too often I find that Swiftkey's "predicted" word option based on what I type is so far off that I end up sending a nonsensical message to people.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was texting some friends and typed (gotmy stuff for free....) as you can see I forgot to put a space between got and my. well, the auto correct gave me a little surprise. try spelling gotmy in your evo and see what you get. you will see how things could go very wrong if you're not carefull.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Casio Commando not that it should matter. I've gone to Settings, Language & Keyboard and can't find anywhere there to turn off Auto Correct when texting. I don't mind it suggesting words and then me selecting them but it drives me nuts when I type a word and hit space and it automatically changes the words. How to make this stop, I'm ready to ditch Go SMS Pro and try another messaging App at this point.

I am just wondering if the auto-suggest dictionary is user-modifiable. I use compact QWERTY (like SureType on BB). When I type "we", what comes out is "qe" which is the default word it wants to use. Perhaps I used it once and saved it? How can I delete the words I don't want popping up anymore (especially the ones I may have added)?
I've got a 3TB external drive drive hooked up to my Ouya running CM11 (Android 4.4)
I run Nzbget and Transmission in optware, and use CM primarily as a vehicle for XBMC so I need the space.
I had it in 2 ext4 partitions which needed a init script to mount under the stock OS.
I was hopping to get it working in a less hacky manner under CM.
I tried with the two parts, and no go so i redid it with one big partition with root as the UID and sdcard_rw as the GID.
Still no dice. I can access it in File Manager with elevated permissions, but no go in XBMC or other apps.
Also tried one big exFAT partioning with no luck.
I plugged in an 8g ntfs drive I had and it automounted it no problem.
What is the right way to configure the drive? We're a Linux household so sticking with ext2/3/4 would be ideal. NTFS I would like to avoid.
When using Google Hangouts to text on my Nexus 5, every time I enter a web url the string is spell checked and becomes un-clickable. Example:If I type: "whatismyandrioidversion.com" into a txt/sms chat using hangouts, the string is spell checked and auto corrected to "what is my android version.com".
So, then I have to go through a very annoying process of deleting the spaces between each word and fixing the url before I send the message.
I really like better keyboard pro except for one thing: when i type the phrase/word "lol" it always suggests "LOL" (all caps) and auto types it when i press space (auto-correct feature) the only problem is i almost never capitalize this word, any way to get it to stop doing this without disabling auto-correct?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i use the compact keyboard, or T9 (not qwerty)..when I type OK, it always defaults to PM and i have to click OK, which is second on the list. Also, when i type home, it always defaults to GOOD, and i have to manually click home, is there a way that it can learn which words use most so that i wont have to constantly pick those words? it would speed up my typing by 150% if it just used the words i used most.

If i was texting along and came to a word that wasn't in the dictionary, I could just long press and then select "add to dictionary". Is it an all or nothing though because I'm continually getting odd words thrown into my texts and not catching it. Mostly happens with slang usage or proper names. Is the only trick to keep entering these things into the personal dictionary until you root out the majority of mishaps or is there a better way. Almost wish there was a list of usual suspects that it'd auto fix but that it'd leave alone proper name entries and abbreviations and so forth. Wishful thinking or possible?

For instance, I often mistakenly put in the word "Urea" when I want to say, "Yea." I don't see myself every needing the word "Urea," so I want to delete it from the Swype dictionary, but I can't seem to figure it out because it's not a word I made Swype learn, it's a word that came with Swype. However, there are certain occasions where I do not want to select the predicted word (or any of the other suggestions). Normally, I would want to hit the spacebar to proceed to the next word I want to type. However, when I hit spacebar it selects the predicted text and replaces what I typed. Is there a trick to skipping predicted text?

2...while texting it will sometimes not recognize the simplest words and come up with some crazy non word.
3...the signal bars are all whacked out!
4...sometimes predictive text just dont show up at all then will after your ticked and got out of the screen then back in.
How do you stop it from adding *** to curse words when you enter text by speaking?

Today I downloaded a compass app and sure enough the reading is off by almost a full 180 degrees. The program's calibrate feature didn't seem to correct the problem and I was wondering if there was a built-in way to recalibrate the magnetometer.
