Is it me or you fellow incredible owners as well? And also notice when im about to send a text sometime it highlight the send button even tho I didn't press it. Hope they fix this issue soon its kind of annoying.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an android application that I want to always be running in landscape mode.
I have the following code implemented to keep the app in landscape mode all the time:
inside my activity in the Application Manifest
android:screenOrientation="landscape"
This seems to launch and keep the application in landscape view for the whole duration of the application. Perfect!
However, if I have the app running on my HTC Aria (Android 2.1) and the phone locks, if I unlock the phone, I see the application for probably half a second and it's in portrait orientation and then quickly switches back to landscape mode. It is quite frustrating because all of my views are jumbled around and it looks unprofessional as you can imagine. This happens in both the emulator and on my real phone.
Does anyone know how to stop the application from temporarily rotating when the phone is unlocked?
I have tried overriding onConfigurationChanged() but with no success.
I have also tried putting setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE); into the onResume() but the app still shows as the incorrect orientation for a split second when the phone is unlocked.
Android 2.0.1 provides the feature to slide to turn sound on or off in the unlocking screen, but it seems it isn't possible to turn to vibra mode in this way. Does anyone have some idea?

Ideally one where days are one color nights are another and days off either neutral or another color.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anybody been able to get nfs working on the incredible there is a version (1.04 i think)floating around that is supposed to work for snapdragon. I can't get it to install. It says not enough space when installing via astro or any other file managers while i have hundreds of mbs free. I am rooted but everything is stock others reported the same thing when trying to install. I tried to install via adb but i am not positive on how to do it. Has anyone gotten this to work on the incredible.

Josh is a pretty big fan of Apple products, and he wants to jail-break his new i Pad... I went back to stock in anticipation of the update, and when it didn't happen, I went right back to root and ROM. I know there are guys who are tired of hearing about the rooting, but seriously, how many of us on the forum are pretty much just fine without official updates? I LOVE my droid right now with ROM, Beautiful Widgets, and Helix Launcher. I know that hacking and working around software restrictions have always been around, but it seems like things might have changed with the Internet, and especially forums like this one. You don't have to go to the big boys for their releases anymore, instead of Mac v PC. Maybe more and more users will start expecting their software to come from any number of smaller dev's, with more frequent updates and customization. Just an observation.

My app requires alerts at certain events, which are very likely to happen while the screen is off. It captures those event perfectly, however, I'm struggling to hide the T-Mobile screen lock after I've acquired wake lock from the PowerManager. I've tried broadcasting Intent.ACTION_CLOSE_SYSTEM_DIALOGS, however, that seems not to work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy wife's Eris will frequently not allow her to open the lock page. It's like the screen becomes totally unresponsive. There is no lock-out pattern stored, it's all stock. If someone calls we can use the hard answer button but can't answer a call on the touch screen from the lock screen. The only way to fix it is to pull the battery and restart it. But this seems to be temporary since the problem comes back every few days, but not all the time. The "experts" at verizon told her just to keep pulling the battery every time this happens.
My question to you all is....WTF?
Is there another way to open the lock screen? Like with the trackball or something?
After receiving the M2 car mount, I have noticed a troublesome problem. When the phone is docked, and I hit the top unlock button, and then attempt to swipe down, I get either no response, or occasionally it will unlock the screen. If I use my other hand to hold the phone, it will unlock normally. Obviously, this will not work while driving down the road. I have seen on other forums either this EXACT problem, or a problem with the device laying on it back. Also, if I do get the phone to unlock, navigating while in the dock is very erratic. I'm curious if anyone is having a problem with their phone while in a car dock, or lying on a surface and will not unlock without holding it with your other hand.

View 23 Replies View RelatedI know it sounds pretty worthless, but on the hero their are 6 hardware buttons, and if their could be an app that would unlock the phone without having to enter the passcode that would be awesome.
Eor example the combination of pressing talk twice and menu one would unlock the phone, of course you could create the combination of hardware buttons to unlock the phone. You would not have to type in the password to unlock it using the hardware button combination to unlock the phone. So if you were to just press the end key to normally unlock the phone, the phone would wake up and prompt the unlock screen, but if you pressed the combo of hardware buttons you wouldnt have to do that.
Is there any downside to unlocking an HTC Desire to go with a different provider? In my province Telus offers the Desire, but I might want to go with an alternative carrier. So in theory I buy a phone, pay the $15-$20 and have it unlocked. Then take it to the alternative provider and they sign me up

- Is that "unlock bootloader" mean "root" ?
- Is that this method will erase all the data in my phone ?
