Any other way than going to recovery and wiping data/factory reset in order to unlock the cell becausei have much important data in my phone in internal sd.

I am having major battery draining issues with my phone, i have read about all the tips and tricks and trying to get to the bottom of it, but nothing seems to be working. I read that doing a factory reset might work for the situation. I just want to make sure that if i do that, that my phone will still remain unlocked to any carrier I want.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently installed cyanogenmod with CWM recovery (on a Nexus 7) and decided to try one of the largest grids for the lock screen security. Needless to say it was soon forgotten. I've tried the gmail reset but it says the details are incorrect even though I can sign in with them on my PC. My guess is that it can't connect to gmail for authentication due to the firewall I'm using.

I decided to make a quick buck off it by selling it online, but the problem is, It comes with pattern lock screen and a combination that I know nothing of. I tried putting my SIM into and calling, but the furthest I got was the contacts and messages tab. How else can I reset the phone?

View 9 Replies View RelatedFor about a year I was using an HTC Desire with Android 2.2.1 Froyo. Here I was using a default pattern lock screen }by default I mean native, not any app from Market). On this screen there was the background I had set for my home/lock page and also there were some other information (time, date, battery status when charging, etc.).
Yesterday I've (finally) bought an HTC Sensation XE (in USA known as Rezound) which has Android 2.3.4. Here on pattern lock screen there is no background, only a black color and also no other info as I was used to with Android 2.2.1.
Do You know if there is some setting or workaround to just have a normal background image I have set for my home/lock screen or is this option totally gone here and the black is only I can get?
I father-in-law has an Atrix 2 and the screen was in perfect condition. It was running extremely slow, so i did a factory reset for him. There is now a weird mark on his screen that seems to get bigger everyday. I told him it has nothing to do with the factory reset, but I believe he may have had it in his one cargo pocket and press against something. There is no visible damage to the exterior of the screen. I have attached a photo to see what it could possibly be if it is not from physical damage.

Problem : since then, the androidversion got updated from 4.0 to 4.1 and it doesn't work any more.
My situation:
Bootloader locked.
Not rooted.
no custom recovery installed.
USB debugging enabled.
is it possible to bypass the Google lock screen on an android 4.1 device? Tried different funny things like pushing home button or calling myself, then some more komplex ways with adb commands and so on, but all of them lead me in the end to either a custom recovery or root.if there is a way to get a CR on an locked device? Or how to adb pull some files from the data section? And I read something about adb'ing into the device in recovery and removing the security settings, what about something like that? I don't want to steal anything, if I would like to steal the phone, I would just resetting it
Is there anyway to disable the initial swipe lock screen and replace with the pattern lock? Seems silly to have a double lock.....the pattern seems much better to me.

I've done the process of a recovery and then allow the red triangle to come up, from there i know i should hold power + Up, and that should take me to a black screen with blue letters, and i should select something about "partition" but this black and blue screen, i remember seeing it as a thumbnail in a folder i deleted. I thought it was an ad photo saved onto my phone as spam (as the folder was named adSOMETHING) and so i deleted it and now, i feel i have have screwed myself over. I have no way of getting another phone right now. How can i get my laptop to read my phones connection and allow me to copy and paste the files needed to get it running again?

Now after he has made a number of attempts is displayed when the message "Too many attempts to enter the sequence" and requires the google account. The problem is that you do not remember your credentials, or because you do not connect to the wifi network is not able to validate credentials.To get around this I did the following tests:
1) attempt to enter the recovery mode by pressing volume + and power
2) attempt via adb with the command "adb reboot recovery"
But every time you restart it is as if there is no recovery mode and starts normally and returns the usual screen that asks for credentials.
I also run this procedure:
> Adb-d shell
# Sqlite3 data / data / com.android.providers.settings / databases / settings.db
sqlite> update system set value = 0 where name = 'lock_pattern_autolock';
sqlite>. exit
# exit
but when I reboot I get the same error message with the introduction of the credentials.
My app requires alerts at certain events, which are very likely to happen while the screen is off. It captures those event perfectly, however, I'm struggling to hide the T-Mobile screen lock after I've acquired wake lock from the PowerManager. I've tried broadcasting Intent.ACTION_CLOSE_SYSTEM_DIALOGS, however, that seems not to work.

For example, when 5 incorrect patterns are entered, get the location and send it to a remote web server. In my case, I would like to start Cerberus tracking, but that's not the main point.
Is there an app, or custom lock screen, or any security app that allows me to do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife's Eris will frequently not allow her to open the lock page. It's like the screen becomes totally unresponsive. There is no lock-out pattern stored, it's all stock. If someone calls we can use the hard answer button but can't answer a call on the touch screen from the lock screen. The only way to fix it is to pull the battery and restart it. But this seems to be temporary since the problem comes back every few days, but not all the time. The "experts" at verizon told her just to keep pulling the battery every time this happens.
My question to you all is....WTF?
Is there another way to open the lock screen? Like with the trackball or something?
Anyone else notice the pattern screen lock is completely bypassed by just popping the keyboard out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just unlocked my Galaxy S4 with lates 4.3 OS. The code was accepted (succesful?), after that screen went to my normal desktop, but after a few seconds, then it started to boot, then message showed "erasing", and phone reset to factory settings, so I lost everything. Phone seems fine now, I can make calls and dloading on wifi all apps I lost. But wondering if this was due to lates firmware, or perhaps something went wrong, and still is? I didn't see phone reseting after unlocking on any tutorial videos I watched, but again, those were made way before this lates 4.3 OS. Also, I entered the unlock code with the wifi ON, opposed to instructions.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd really like to be able to read my most recent text BEFORE I unlock my pattern lock screen. Preferably in the form of a popup. I really don't care if it's over it or on top I just want to be able to read it before I unlock. I've done a good deal of searching, on xda and elsewhere, and I really can't find any information on how I might be able to do this. I tried playing with the popup settings in handcent and I have got the pop up to show up over the lockscreen, but if the screen turns back off then I have to unlock the phone to see the text again. Is there anything I can do about that?
I even tried playing around with Sms Popup with no luck either. Could I perhaps somehow remove the background on my pattern lockscreen so that I can see the popup behind it? I'd also like to add that I'd really rather not use any third party lockscreen apps like WidgetLocker or Lock 2.0 because I really don't like them. I know it's kind of a specific question but it's just kind of an aesthetics thing I guess.
I would love to stop using the HTC lock screen and use only the pattern unlock - any ideas how to do that?
