HTC Incredible :: Scheduled To Be Bluetooth Workaround - Fix In Froyo?
Aug 10, 2010
So I am having issues pairing my Inc with my Audi. Seems a common issue with several of the German cars and my research indicates it is because HTC loaded a crappy version of bluetooth with the phone, not the true 2.1 version that is in other phones. Has anyone found a workaround/fix for this? is it scheduled to be fixed in Froyo?

I listen to music at work with some Bluetooth speakers. I also occasionally connect to WiFi while at work. Since the Froyo update if I am connected to both Wifi and Bluetooth while listening to music, the bluetooth will turn itself on and off over and over again. This did not happen to me prior to the Froyo update.I guess my question is, can we not be running and be connected to WiFi and Bluetooth at the same time with Froyo?

I finally reached the end of my threats to leave ATT. My service has been terrible and the customer "service" reps I've dealt with have ranged from incompetent to rude.I'm looking forward to giving "Big Red" a chance and getting my first Android device. I picked the Inc over the X for the FM radio, the Outlook sync, and because I've not been impressed with various Moto phones over the years (SLVR, ROKR, and others).I got a nice deal on wirefly, 149 with a new contract and a $30 bill credit. And they had it in stock. Ordered yesterday, chose $20 overnight shipping, and it left Memphis on FedEx today in route to my city? What do I need to know for a new Incredible owner, Verizon customer, and first time Android user?

I have a BlueAnt ST3 and the volume is great when you hear the callers voice or it says "connected to phone", etc. But the volume coming from the voice of the Evo bluetooth asking me to speak now or verifying my caller choice is very low. I have looked in the bluetooth settings but don't see anything related to volume. Is this just the way it is? If not, has someone figured how to increase the phone volume without increasing the overall volume of the phone (media vol, ringer vol, etc).

create an FBO of resolution less than the full phone screen dimensions (user-selected quality vs speed option) do most of my scene rendering into that FBO * then the 'real' (full screen) render would either use the FBO as the starting background color buffer contents, or render it (probably orthographically) as a single quad. * then probably add UI/Text decoration on top of that, where the resolutions really benefits. And, is there some egl glue (I am a glSurfaceView kinda dood) that would automagically do something like this in the first place?Or am I being naive to think the GPU could do its work faster if it was rendering to a lower resolution target? And would the phone with the worst fill rate also be the phone that doesn't support FBOs in the first place?

I just purchased a Bluetooth headset for my phone. I notice that when I press the main button on the headset the phone asks me to say a command. How can I call a contact from my phone or dial a phone number? What else is possible over Bluetooth headsets?

Occasionally when I have a lot going on in my app, and I am playing a number of sounds using SoundPool, my app just completely freezes. Looking at the logs, I see this:
I/AudioHardwareMSM72XX( 56): AudioHardware pcm playback is going to standby.
My app must then be force closed and restarted. Does anyone know what may be causing this, or a possible workaround? I cannot reproduce this in the emulator - only on my HTC Hero, so I am wondering if this may be a device specific bug.

You'll have to manually connect some of your contacts if their names don't match. This syncs their photos, but NOT the rest of their info. It does NOT bring all of your Facebook contacts into your phone and SMS apps.

Looking for a scheduled reboot app with a non rooted phone android 2.1.I noticed that my free memory goes from around 210s to 130s in a day even with ATK running.Don't know where the memory is leaking but maybe someone can fill me in.Anyway with a reboot it jumps right back up to the 210s even though all the apps are running in ATK.

It says turning on, looks like it's turning on, then it blanks out the checkbox. If I can't turn it on I can't access pairing settings or anything, so there is nothing I can configure that could change this.Anyone else?My phone is still syncing, but that has never affected it before. I am also using P3's 1200LV kernel.

If a user does a "pinch zoom" on the map, my overlays don't properly size until the end. This has been noted in other posts, so i assume it is a known issue.
Problem is, my client finds it totally unacceptable, as I am tasked with making the android app look as good as the iphone version.
Is there any way to correct this, even if it is a horrible hack? For instance, can I subclass the mapview and handle drawing or override some other method?

Just downloaded the latest version of Titanium off the market and it now offers scheduled backups (not sure if this is only for the paid version). There are also a handful of other new features that I haven't checked out yet. I am pretty excited about this and just wanted to give my rooted brothers and sisters a heads up

Are there any apps out there that would allow me to have both gmail and exchange switch from "as mail arrives" to "manual" certain times of the day?For instance, I sit in front of my work computer most of the day and don't require immediate email to my phone, same with gmail. So from say 8-5pm I don't really need instant mail. Also, from say 11pm - 6am I also don't need instant mail since I'm sleeping :-)it would be important that this would be controlled by days (for instance, I would like to be able to schedule the instant mail off on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am - 5pm.

I am trying to have some code execute every 24 hours. But my question has to do with how to trigger the service even if the phone has not been rebooted. In other words, suppose someone installs my application.I would like to make it so that in 24 hours, it executes some code, whether or not the phone has been rebooted.

One thing that I really like about the phone is the ability to play music from my phone to my car stereo via Bluetooth because it has the A2DP. No wires and I can control the music ON the deck itself instead of the phone. I've updated the phone with the leaked froyo about 2 days after it was leaked. I noticed that I couldn't play music from my phone to my car stereo anymore via bluetooth. I am able to take calls fine via bluetooth while I am driving, it just won't play any music.

I use Slacker and Pandora every day in my car on the ride to and from work, via bluetooth.Every Froyo rom I've tried (CM 6 alpha, the straight FRF57, FRF84, etc) sounds terrible. Its like the highs and lows are WAY overboosted and distorted.Because this has been common to every rom I've tried to date, and it is always fixed by reverting to my rooted 2.1, I usually do that. But I'm tired of missing out on flash and chrome-to-phone. Is there a sound fix?

I know Motorola loaded Nuance's VAD application since they decided to launch with 2.1 vs 2.2, however, how that 2.2 is out, how do we get rid of it? The Nuance app is barely functional at best, and is far surpassed by the quality/features of the Froyo voice app, which from what I remember, supports Bluetooth now. So how do we get it off of there?

I have used ImageView's before and understand the different scale types that can be set... However I am having an incredibly difficult time trying to get an ImageView to scale properly in the row of a ListActivity or an ExpandableListActivity.
I have tried setting the android:scaleType property to every single value but the image never scales down. I have set the min and max sizes as well and they don't seem to have any effect. I have done both of these things in both the XMl and in code to no avail...
Does anyone have any ideas or perhaps a workaround? code...

I'm working in with the Android SDK 2.0 / Galileo / ADT 0.9.4 (latest to date). Against Android 1.5 API layer. If I go to the layout editor and add an AutoCompleteTextView the screen immediately gives me a NullPointerException. Does anyone have a documented workaround for this problem? I can't seem to find one. This is obviously a bug in the Android SDK. (It's been filed anyway.)
