I followed this guide http://www.jonamerica.com/technology/remove-bloatware-from-htc-droid-incredible-2-2/ to remove some bloatware. Now when I boot my phone and it gets to Sense, I get a "this feature does not support current software version" error and no 3g icon.

I still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon.

I rooted my 2.2 today with the video up in the sticky.
I am using the Amron_RA recovery.
I didn't do anything else but what the video's told me to do.
Now when I try to go into the android market, it tries to load for a while then tell me there is a network error. I synced all my contacts and can make calls and use internet. Just not the market.
It's working now. I'm not sure why. I've been sitting on this for over an hour waiting and rebooting. I didn't want to jump the gun and post and then have to say "hey, it works now" but it works now.
I rooted recently and it appears I hove lost my bluetooth. I can not sync to my car's handsfree. My droid shows the alpine device, but will not sync. My son's Incrediable syncs fine, and my phone did as well prior to root. Anyone else have this problem?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAs it says above really. I've rooted to the new Froyo with sense release (seems slow but stable) and all was well until I restored with mybackup pro. Some apps were missing even though they showed as installed and even so, I've got A LOT less internal memory than before and I'm still having to uninstall stuff
I thought Froyo was supposed to let you install apps to SD?
Rooted my SCH I535 running on Verizon.
Used ODIN3-v1.85 and these files:

Now wifi and 4G functionally lost. They only work sporadically and unreliably.
Should I find the stock ROM and reflash?
I had my phone rooted and now cannot find my Account and Sync Settings.
When I check system / app and the apk is no longer there. Tried to add another account & sync apk apk in but still no account & sync settings show up.
Also noticed that there is no odex files only apk files under the system / app folder.
Phone is Hisense e910 using android 2.3.6
I have a droid razr maxx that is rooted and when i was messing around with stuff i seem to have messed up something with my texting app and it was gone. I found the app .apk in my system/app folder but when attempting to install it i got a "app not installed". Frustrated with it i decided to just factory restore and just start everything fresh. Did a factory restore and my texting app is still not there and i still cant install it.

I rooted my phone recently and installed the leaked 2.2 update.I ran Unrevoked as well as Unrevoked Forever, so I have S-OFF on my phone.I want to now put the official 2.2 release on my phone, while of course keeping my root.It would be best to keep my data on there, but if I have to run a Titanium backup and restore once it's installed, that's okay too.I just need to know the process to do this and where to get the update.I am running the leaked 2.2 Froyo update from May and I have the 2.05.00.06.11 radio.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm a VZW subscriber. I currently use a Storm 2 (HATE IT). I have been waiting... and waiting for the N1. I have a friend that works in the higher ups of VZW (not retail). I was just giving him shit the other day about the N1 situation. He said, "you should just get the Incredible it has slight better specs and the optical mouse.". I then told him my dislike for Sense UI. He said, "well then just root it".Would there be any difference between a rooted N1 and a rooted Incredible? Wouldn't they then have the exact same OS? (Provided I was going to flash it with Cyanogen). Thusly I would have the same phone with better specs, if I got the Inc over the N1. Is this flawed thinking? Since the N1 is Googles phone and gets updates first. When you root and flash with a diff ROM, do you then not get updates? I'm guessing you would be reliant on the updates to that ROM which ever MOD you choose.

So I go to download and I noticed that I have no 3G connection, not even 1x, So I try to download it and it tells me that there is Generic Network Failure. Now I can't make any calls or do anything. It was working fine until i got the MMS. I have tried changing the size to download and just about every setting. I can't figure it out. I love this phone, but now it is starting to make me mad!

After plugging it back in and powering up, all the text messages and emails I've received since the install are now gone. The emails I easily retrieved, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a solution to get the text messages back or stop it from happening again. My text messages are important for work.

Now since you can't use sense widgets within Launcher Pro you automatically lose the clock and friend stream widget etc. Losing the clock has been a non issue thanks to Beautiful widgets but I can't find an app that mimics the friend stream look and/or functionality. Right now I've just got the twitter app and the facebook app together eating up a page but it's less than ideal. Does anyone know of an app that even comes close to replacing friendstream?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that I suddenly lost thumbnails of images that showed the previous day in the stock photo apps and also the Gallery app. They show up and open using Astro, but appear to no longer be seen by the indexes of photo and Gallery (but open fine using those apps via Astro). I tried B&B as well and same thing. They all must use the same index source.
I like the stock photo app the best, since it shows pics and movies for both internal and external memory. Never had this problem before. I tried SDrescan, but it just says "scanning" and even after two hours, never stops scanning. I have tried clearing cache, etc., but still they do not show, even when I created a new directory to put them in.
I was sitting at my desk and work and saw the "System Update" notification pop up on my phone. I grabbed my phone, stood up, and showed my coworker. Unfortunately, in doing so I accidentally pressed "Update Now." I had planned to post-pone the update until I got home so I could Unrevoked Forever and S-Off. It's currently in the middle of installing (little ! icon w/ the Android guy next to it). I guess I'm going to lose my root. Any idea how long I'll have to wait to gain it back?
