HTC Incredible :: Thumbnails Of Images Lost In Photo And Gallery Applications

I noticed that I suddenly lost thumbnails of images that showed the previous day in the stock photo apps and also the Gallery app. They show up and open using Astro, but appear to no longer be seen by the indexes of photo and Gallery (but open fine using those apps via Astro). I tried B&B as well and same thing. They all must use the same index source.
I like the stock photo app the best, since it shows pics and movies for both internal and external memory. Never had this problem before. I tried SDrescan, but it just says "scanning" and even after two hours, never stops scanning. I have tried clearing cache, etc., but still they do not show, even when I created a new directory to put them in.

I've recently had a problem where ONE of my photo albums (not all) has corrupt square preview thumbnails. They look like static images off a TV with no antenna signal, and they ONLY look this way in grid mode. If I switch to filmstrip mode, they are fine. And all of the photos themselves are all fine. It's just the previews for this one album in grid mode. I tried just clearing the photo apps' cache - but no better. how to rebuild them?

Is there a free app in the Android Market that will organize my photos? Seems like every time I take a photo or save it from a message, It goes into the gallery at the end of a Long line of pictures that I previously stored and I have to scroll all the way to the end to view it. Am I doing something wrong?

I've made folders and added pics to the sd card while i had it in my computer but the stock photo app won't recognize the folders but it does see the pics and puts them in both the stock folders (All Photos, Camera Shots).
Why can't the stock photo app (photos) recognize the folders I put on my sd card? I'm fairly tech. savvy but can't figure this photo app file structure for the life of me! Is there a photo/camera app that asks where and what folder I want camera pics to be saved too?

My application loads 12 100x100 thumbnail images from the web using the code below. I then display the thumbnails in a GridView using an ImageAdapter derived from BaseAdapter.I'm running into memory issues because each of the thumbnails is held in memory as a Bitmap. This seems like a fairly straightforward application (display a gallery of thumbnails from the web), can some give me advice on how to reduce my memory needs? Maybe there's a better way to display web images in a GridView that doesn't involve downloading and storing each one as a Bitmap?

Will the Incredible have the same 3D photo stacking view in the N1? Of all the review videos I've seen it appears it does not but it might just be they chose not to show that off. I really liked that ability to show 3d stacks of photos sorted by date. Is it possible to use the stock android app for viewing photos instead of the sense photo gallery?

Is that normal that Images indexed in the MediaStore do not have thumbnails generated until the Gallery app is launched and the user actively navigates to the bucket where the image is stored ?
I think it's quite odd as I thought thulbnails generation was part of media indexing.

I'm making an alternative camera App. As you might expect my App involves taking pictures and saving them to the sdcard. On most phones (and the Emulator) everything works fine, pictures appear in the built-in Gallery App straight away. However on the HTC incredible images only appear when the user restarts the device. (I'm talking about an HTC Incredible phone with an sdcard, I know some of them shipped with internal storage only, but this is not the issue I'm talking about) The code I'm currently trying goes like this: I've also tried MediaScannerConnection.scanFIle() with no luck. I wonder is the problem is due to the HTC incredible being originally designed to operate with internal storage only, maybe the Gallery App has issues with media stored on the sdcard. I hate that the incredible default gallery shows videos and photos together in the same app. Is there any app out there that just shows your photos or is there a way to hide videos in the default gallery so I can see my videos with another app?

I have several images present in different folders in my sdcard. I would like to display a list of thumbnails. So what I have done is while rendering any row in the list I read the file in an input stream, get the byte array, decode it to obtain a bitmap and set it in an imageview.
So far so good. But when I scroll the list, the list scrolls in jerks. I believe this is because decoding a bitmap from byte array takes some time. What I would like to know is that, is there any optimization which I can do to improve the performance, or better still is there any better method to achieve what I want ?

I just manually updated to 2.2 (successfully) but I started to panic when I couldn't find the camera shots category in the new gallery app. I mounted the phone to my computer and found the photos on my phones internal memory, so they're all safe, but I still cant view them on my phone. Also, whenever I take a picture and try to go back to review it later, I get a "no photos found" error, and the new photo doesn't show up in the directory of the previously "lost" photos from prior to the update. It's safe to say that I'm utterly bamboozled. Anyone else experiencing this issue or know how to fix it?

I am looking for the following that I haven't been able to find by searching:
-Widget with different sizes
-Widget will automatically slideshow from selected drawers at a set interval (with random as option)
-You can scroll through the photos by swiping, preferrably seamless (with launcher that allows scrollable widgets I guess) so you can scroll really quick
-Clicking a picture will bring you its source
Would this be possible (or is there such a widget already)?

I am simply trying to get the path of an image that the user selects and then convert it into a bitmap. The problem is, only some of the images in the gallery work when selected (by "work" I mean they are found to be a file that exists), while the others claim the file does not exist (even though the image is showing up in the gallery?). Even more strange is that this doesn't seem to be consistent, an image that was at one point considered to "exist" now claims to be nonexistent..............

I'm using the blow code to open the gallery and grab an image for an incon im gong to store in a database and access later to populate a listview attached to a simpleCursorAdapter...........
The code runs, and then starts force closing (what seems like) randomly. I'm convinced that I've gotten something confused somewhere but since the force closure happens at all different points of my app I dont know where to start looking.

As per title - there are options to delete jpg, but not gif. In order to delete the latter the only way is to connect the phone to pc and delete them directly from SD card. But not from the gallery. Is it a bug?
