Now wifi and 4G functionally lost. They only work sporadically and unreliably.
Should I find the stock ROM and reflash?

I have a galaxy s3 i535 on verizon wireless. I am currently rooted and have CWM and a backup of CyanogenMod10 (jellybean). I am currently on stock ICS my phone shipped with. My question is how to i get rid of CWM and my root. I want to be ready for JB OTA. Also, does my bootloader need to be locked when i accept OTA updates? I want my phone back to just like it came when i took it out of the box.

Im looking for a good rom for an i535 that supports multi window use. I tried synergy and it would have been perfect but none of my Verizon apps work and NFL mobile is probably my most used app. That was the deal breaker for me im a big fan of beans rom but he doesn't offer multi window.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy galaxy s4 has recently been very slow so I thought that I would try a factory data reset to clear some things up. However, my phone is rooted. Now when I looked around on some other forums it seemed as though that I didn't have to worry about factory resetting the phone while it was rooted. But when I went ahead and did so it no longer will boot. Its stuck in the boot loop/download mode/ whatever you may call it. I can't seem to flash a recovery file through Odin either. My phone is gone now.

When I check system / app and the apk is no longer there. Tried to add another account & sync apk apk in but still no account & sync settings show up.
Also noticed that there is no odex files only apk files under the system / app folder.
Phone is Hisense e910 using android 2.3.6
I have a droid razr maxx that is rooted and when i was messing around with stuff i seem to have messed up something with my texting app and it was gone. I found the app .apk in my system/app folder but when attempting to install it i got a "app not installed". Frustrated with it i decided to just factory restore and just start everything fresh. Did a factory restore and my texting app is still not there and i still cant install it.

I've been having problems with my Xperia Play. Any app involving the internet would force close after being on it for a certain amount of time, which was no big deal, I would just restart my phone. But then it started happening more frequently, and it would force close sooner, sometimes even force closing as soon as I entered the app. Then this morning, I found that my WiFi was off (which was weird because i don't turn off WiFi at home). I went into my settings to turn it back on, locked my phone, and went to do something else. When I went to check Facebook, I saw that the WiFi wasn't on. So again, I went into settings, but instead of just pushing "Turn on Wi-Fi", I went into "Wi-Fi Settings". I saw that I had lost all my saved WiFi networks (including my house), and it wasn't picking any up, even though I know that there are multiple in my area. I tried re-entering my home WiFi settings, but that still didn't work. I did a few more times, then when it still failed, I restarted my phone and tried again. Still nothing. Then I went out, and was still unable to pick up any WiFi, and any internet based apps still weren't working, even with 3G on.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if this is a common verizon thing or a phone thing.Every time the verizon signal is lost or detected my music pauses for a split second. this becomes very annoying while commuting to and from work everyday underground where the signal is lost and gained about 17 times due to the depth of the subway. how can i fix this? this is not an email sync issue but a carrier signal detection issue.

I cannot access the boot recovery screen and the power button that puts the device to sleep has some sort of software glitch that requirers to press the power button numerous times to wake up the screen.. Otherwise the the device works fine.. I have managed to remove the SU .apk.. The only other changes I made while it has been rooted is to remove VVM, MP3 app and cooperate calander which are still hidden.. What do you think will be the outcome of this debaucle?

I have kies, mobogenie, (which is where it was rooted from via a one click root) don't mind losing root to go to 4.4.2..

I rooted my 2.2 today with the video up in the sticky.
I am using the Amron_RA recovery.
I didn't do anything else but what the video's told me to do.
Now when I try to go into the android market, it tries to load for a while then tell me there is a network error. I synced all my contacts and can make calls and use internet. Just not the market.
It's working now. I'm not sure why. I've been sitting on this for over an hour waiting and rebooting. I didn't want to jump the gun and post and then have to say "hey, it works now" but it works now.
I rooted my mytouch 4g with the gingerbread rom, i installed the apk and patch for netflix and works perfectly. only problem is my wifi will not connect anymore.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get a friends Nexus 7 up and running. I recently rooted it and installed the custom recovery using my Mac with this guide while the tablet was on 4.3. All was well, but then my friend was given the option to install the 4.4 Kitkat update. After the update, the tablet has been unable to boot - it simply hangs at the startup animation. I am able to enter the recovery boot loader, and enter options to restore from a .zip, however I have no way of accessing the tablet's memory from my computer to put the original operating system back on it- although I think it could be done from Terminal, I am not well versed in command prompts.

Some apps were missing even though they showed as installed and even so, I've got A LOT less internal memory than before and I'm still having to uninstall stuff

I have pre-ordered a Droid at Best Buy and very much look forward to picking it up on Friday.My current Storm does not have WiFi capabilities so I have not had an opportunity to play with WiFi on a device like this.My question is how do you go about switching between WiFi (where available) and Verizon's network? After you have configured the Droid to user your home wireless network, is it a manual operation where you select the connection you want or will it automatically use a WiFi connection when available?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI spent an hour on the phone with a Verizon CSR and he could not get wifi to work on my DX, so he said they will send a new replacement on 8/3.He instructed me to do a factory reset, so it looks like I lost all my data. I really wish I would have backed up my contacts, but he said they would sync back up within an hour. I hope he's right because I don't want to bluetooth them again ONE BY ONE. Can anybody confirm the gmail sync? I lost all my texts and apps too. I'm pretty sure I read that if I had used appbrain I wouldn't have lost all my apps. But, I don't know if there's a way to back up texts.

I'm assuming the speeds would be poorer but I want to hear from a personal account first. If the 3g performance is exceptional i may just drop my comcast cable modem given the droid x can support up to 8 wireless devices.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNew to Eris and have set up Wifi to connect to home router (Verizon FIOS Actiontec). Successfully connected (accepted WEP) but get very weak signal and then lose connection. I've turned off "Mobile Network" but still have this problem. I am one room away from router and receive full signal on iMac and printer but only a dot under the Wifi symbol on the Eris. Exchanged a Motorola Droid (which received and held full signal -- as did my prior iPhone)) for Eris. VZW tech support clueless and immediately sent me to HTC support. While they tried (had some not very good explanations -- battery not pushing enough power) still nothing working. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated -- this is the only downside right now.
