Jul 9, 2010I flashed capt jagers 1.6.1 rom and now all my contacts are gone.i did a nand and a titanium back up is there any way to get my contacts back?

HTC Incredible :: Flashed New Rom But Forgot Contacts
Sep 3, 2010so I checked google and they're not there. Its been about an hour so i don't think they're going to show up by waiting. My question is if I restore will they be there so I can get them this time. Then flash the new rom again. Thanks

Jun 27, 2010I rooted last night and earlier today I flashed fresh 2.1.2. What I did was made a newer, more current nandroid, then I did a factory data wipe. I had to reboot the phone then, didn't know that, thought I could flash Rom at this point. Once it booted, I powered off, booted to recovery and flashed fresh 2.1.2. Once it finally came to, I started re-downloading my apps starting with autokiller. I got an error message while trying to change the preset saying I don't have root access, now I exited this and went to the app drawer and sure enough I do have the superuser permissions app there but when I try to open it I'm taken to a plain black screen. What went wrong, how could I be running fresh but lost root somehow?

Oct 9, 2010i lost all my contacts and im trying to use backup assistant to sync my contacts and they are not adding back on. i check my verizon wireless account and i still have the contacts on the webpage?.. not sure exactly what is going on. i did drop my fone and it have a dent but this can not be the reason why?

Aug 18, 2010I had my phone rooted and i loaded the cyanogenmad 6 and it worked fine. but i forget to do titatnium backup so i lost all my contacts! i tried to install back up manager for verizon but it wont let me. now im trying to go back to stock without root so i can get my contacts and redo everything. i followed everything step by step and put the file in my root of my sd and i loaded in hboot but its not showing anything.

Jun 16, 2010I've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.

Everything works very well. I haven't noticed any hangups at all, with the exception of 1. my google latitude contacts don't sync. they appear on my desktop but dont appear on my phone with latitude installed.
HTC Incredible :: Flashed Phone To Cricket?
Sep 11, 2010I just got my hands on the ever so lovely HTC incredible and flashed it to cricket. However I'm having a few issues with getting my gps, mms, apps and getting my data connection to stop going on and off. I followed the walkthroughs for both the HTC Eris/hero and the Motorola Droid, course respecting the aspects of Motorola that won't work on an HTC. I've gotten the web running with the issue of it periodically goin in and out. As for mms, gps and apps....sadly they're a no go. If anyone has any ideas or can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Sep 2, 2010I have to return my phone to Asurion. I had it rooted, s-off, with the stock recovery flashed back so could receive the OTA upgrade.
Today I put back clockworkmod recovery and applied s-on. I downloaded and tried to flash the stock rom according to the 10 minute video ( [VIDEO] HowTo UnRoot Incredible by downgrading ) put the recovery wouldn't accept it, I guessed cause I was s-on. I then applied s-off again and flashed the stock rom. The stock rom also put back the stock recovery but I was still s-off. I had to reflash CWM to apply s-on.
Now I am almost there except I have the CWM recovery. Not good I downloaded a couple stock recovery files but they will not flash while I am s-on.
I was advised and given a link to download a 2.1 RUU file that is an .exe. I was told to install HTC sync and run it. Either it won't run or I am not doing the right thing with it. I tried it on 2 computers- opened HTC sync, plugged in phone, chose HTC sync, got connection, tried to run the .exe. All I got was a brief dos window. I'm probably doing something wrong here. Can someone tell me how to run this? Or, can I extract the stock recovery from this and flash it? I extracted the files and the recover is in there. I was told it was all signed and legit original stock. Can anyone tell me how to do it if it is possible?
HTC Incredible :: Flashed Skyraider - SD Card Read Only?
Aug 21, 2010I just flashed to skyraider 2.5.2 and I am now getting a "SD card is mounted as read only" error. When I click on it in the notification bar it reloads the card and usually works after that but occasionally it will take several tries. This happens every time I reboot my phone.

Oct 31, 2010As a recent convert from Windows Mobile with ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center, I chose the Evo expecting HTC Sync to work at least as well to keep everything synchronized. I have since learned to be sure I have a fresh Outlook backup before I start, because HTC Sync has wiped out the calendar and contacts on my phone and PC before. I can usually get People and Calendar to sync okay now, but do the Bookmark and Gallery syncs work for anyone? I have both turned on, but never see any results.
According to the program, Gallery is supposed to copy my "device Camera shots to PC". "File will be saved to /My Photos/Device Camera Shots". I've searched my whole PC and don't have either of those directories anywhere. If I create them, will it work? If so, where should they be created? I have it set to "Sync all bookmarks from Firefox", but when I open the Internet app on the Evo, there are no bookmarks. The browser acts like it's Opera, but there is no Help/About to confirm that. Is there another browser that HTC Sync is copying them to?

May 15, 2010I lost most of my contacts with the OTA 2.1 upgrade. Some have resynced from Facebook and Gmail, but a great deal of them are still missing including numbers I didnt have synced to FB or Gmail. The numbers are still associated with text messages in messaging app and Handcent, but all contact info has been lost on most of them. Is there any way to get my lost contacts back or are they gone forever?

I was told to head to data syncronization>google> unclick contacts, in order to solve this issue. The probalem is shortly after i did that the majority of my phone contacts were deleted! I only have contacts S through Z in my contact list now. Any ideas on what I should do or what happened?

So far the phone works I have Market 2.2 etc, but I tested Hulu and found out that my "handset" doesn't work with this format. I'm not sure how to check for Flash 10.1 but some video worked on the Adobe flash player site.

Jun 19, 2010all my numbers were saved into the sim fine no problem. all present and correct. when i went to manually enter a contact last night it gave me the option to store to googlemail, phone or sim.... well not knowing that my contacts were now stored under googlemail. i thought i would pick phone, one little message later (something about changing settings) but not saying it would wipe my contacts ...everyone apart from this new number i maunually entered were gone! so checked that i had checked the box to back up everything ( i had), tried to import from sim.... but nothing !!!! no contacts !!!!
EVERY other phone i have had you can save to any file sim, phone etc without a hitch , why not this one? are my contacts really all gone? or is there a way to rectify this?
a few numbers i remembered have now been entered into my phonebook manually and saved under googlemail .... but what happens if i accidently pick phone or sim again...... back to square one anyone else had this happen ? is there a way to get them back ? and a way around this in the future. ? if not the desire is going back
HTC Droid Eris :: Import Lost Contacts?
Dec 6, 2009Earlier by Eris just lost all my contacts, all the ones that Verizon transferred over to my Eris. All that is left now are just the phone numbers from people that have left text messages but those who I do not have a recent call history with are gone. Is there any way for me to regain those contacts without having to re-enter every one of them all over again, or possibly without having to go to Verizon for them to import my contacts?

Followed all steps including backing up all my phone entries (logs/messages/contacts etc...) and went through the update with flying colors. The new update is amazing but for some reason after recovering all of my (previously saved) things, I found out I'm missing more than half of my contacts!
Anyone know what's going on? I can find my whole phone book through my text messaging application when searching for a name but if I go into my actual phone book I have like the last 6 entries that I added only... I've tried importing from sim/sd card nothing works...

Nov 22, 2010Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer. Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup. After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process. I left it restoring for a while.
When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap. But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. I tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere. I have work related contacts as well as family & friends and really need to get my contacts back - please advise?
