I had my phone rooted and now cannot find my Account and Sync Settings.
When I check system / app and the apk is no longer there. Tried to add another account & sync apk apk in but still no account & sync settings show up.
Also noticed that there is no odex files only apk files under the system / app folder.
Phone is Hisense e910 using android 2.3.6

I was composing a message and the phone got stuck when I was about to select the recipients. (Wanted to group send message so that's why I was not answering directly.) After waiting for a while the phone was still not responding then I forced to shut down and turned it on again. Okay I again edited the same text and tap to choose receivers. Good grief! NO CONTACTS! EMPTY! Why? What happened?
I first tried to sync Gmail contacts back to my Sony Xperia, however when I logged in to Gmail and it was the same! NO CONTACTS!
Long story short, I finally found Myjad Android Contact Recovery which seems to be useful because I want simply the contacts. So any example of trying successfully restoring lost contacts with this program?
I recently got a HTC One X and noticed that there was an error syncing with my Google account. When I checked it out, my "Sync Internet" is failing. Then I remembered that on my Logitech Revue with Honeycomb had the same issue.
What exactly is "Sync Internet" and how come it is failing on more than one device?
I have a few email address' and I would like to know if there is anyway to hide 1 of those email address' from the Accounts & Sync in the Settings. Either that or anyway to reorganize the way the address' show up so I can keep 1 address out of site if the phone is checked?

View 5 Replies View RelatedUp until November 2011 I had an older model Motorola Droid X. I was able to take photos using the phone camera and those photos would automatically sync with my Google accounts and could be accessed by Google+, Blogger, etc. All was well and I was happy.
In November 2011, I fried my Droid X when I spilled Gatorade on it and it was immediately replaced with a HTC Droid Incredible 2. I just downloaded Google+ (over six months after replacement) and the photos that I take NOW, sync just fine. But the photos that I took during the last 6-months did not synch up with my Google accounts.
Is there any way to synch the photos taken during the 6-month period that I did not have Google+ installed to be included in the Instant Upload?
when my Talk was going off line and saying "Lost connection to sever. Messages will be sent when online." This happened anytime the phone was idle for more than a couple minutes. I changed the seetings in Talk to automatically sign in, and uncheck the option to set status to away when the sceen is turned off. This did not help, so I made sure my data-always-on setting was on, and it is. Sometimes it would not even tell me it was offline until I tried to send a message, then it would give me that error. Other times, all my friends will be greyed out for a couple seconds until it reconnects to the server.
This is an Evo I got replaced by RadioShack on Friday, 7/16, since I was having sceen issues with my first one. I never had any issues with my orginal phone. Yesterday, I was noticing a lot of my Gmail messages were coming in in groups, and normally when I was using the phone. Today, I sent an email to both my gmail account and myemail@mydomain.net email which is managed by Google, and neither of those emails were recieved until I turned my sceen on and started doing things on it. I have also noticed that if I turn my sceen off, background downloads pretty much come to a halt. Like I said, I have my data to always be on, so this is not the issue. I am using mainly 3G for data. I have done about 5 hard resets, and tried my Talk client before installing any apps or setting up my second Gmail account, and this didnt help the issue either..........
if it's possible in Android to programatically change the phone internet settings (proxies also), email settings and other similar? Is there some kind of registry? and what about getting the lost/received/etc calls? is it possible to get that info?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon.

I have a droid razr maxx that is rooted and when i was messing around with stuff i seem to have messed up something with my texting app and it was gone. I found the app .apk in my system/app folder but when attempting to install it i got a "app not installed". Frustrated with it i decided to just factory restore and just start everything fresh. Did a factory restore and my texting app is still not there and i still cant install it.

I've been having problems with my Xperia Play. Any app involving the internet would force close after being on it for a certain amount of time, which was no big deal, I would just restart my phone. But then it started happening more frequently, and it would force close sooner, sometimes even force closing as soon as I entered the app. Then this morning, I found that my WiFi was off (which was weird because i don't turn off WiFi at home). I went into my settings to turn it back on, locked my phone, and went to do something else. When I went to check Facebook, I saw that the WiFi wasn't on. So again, I went into settings, but instead of just pushing "Turn on Wi-Fi", I went into "Wi-Fi Settings". I saw that I had lost all my saved WiFi networks (including my house), and it wasn't picking any up, even though I know that there are multiple in my area. I tried re-entering my home WiFi settings, but that still didn't work. I did a few more times, then when it still failed, I restarted my phone and tried again. Still nothing. Then I went out, and was still unable to pick up any WiFi, and any internet based apps still weren't working, even with 3G on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Hotmail account and I downloaded the Hotmail app and set up my email. However, when I delete an email on the phone I would like it NOT to delete on the server. I have tried looking everywhere for this setting ("Never delete from server") on both the app and on the server itself with no luck. I noticed the native email app has this setting but I prefer to use the hotmail app. I have also tried K-9, and while I really like the UI it has not been reliable in delivering my hotmail (gmail gets delivered right away).

If I delete from the device it sometimes does not remove them from my outlook and viceversa. Has anyone else got this phone connected to an exchange 2003 server SP2 ? Also has anyone managed to get any other folders to sync other than the inbox ?

It locked up and perma-black screened after rooting and installing launcher pro, so I tried to use the backup from Odin to save it. Saved the phone. Seems to work. I want to sync my phone contacts with the gmail account. I read several threads from this forum and tried to change from phone contacts to google contacts instead. However, nothing happen when I manually sync. The icon rotating indicated that sync was in process. Afterward, I checked on my gmail's contacts, nothing change. No contact has phone number. I even tried to create some dummy contacts but not work either.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have searched around on this and other forums, looking for the answer to a question that has been bugging me since before the weekend.I got the HTC desire on friday (love the phone!) and have got to the point where most of the things are set up how I want. I have used HTC sync to import my contacts from Outlook where they were already set up how I wanted. However I can't seem to be able to import these contacts back up to my Google account though. I have turned on all the sync settings and checked these, but nothing seems to work.I tried creating a dummy contact in my google account and prompted a sync from my phone which pulled this down ok. So this would indicate that the sync seems to work one way, but wont pull my contacts back up the other.I don't really want to re-enter all my contacts into my Google account to get the sync working properly plus I am assuming this will create a duplicate of every contact already on my phone.

I've manually synced them on the phone and refreshed the web page to no avail.I created one much earlier on (maybe even yesterday) and it's there.If I create a new contact on the web it appears almost immediately on the phone.

The GMail account I have and registered to my cell phone when I got it is an account I've had since the first few weeks GMail was in beta by invitation only over 5 years ago. Needless to say, I have hundreds of contacts in that account.
When I activated my Droid, they ALL came over. What a mess. The Verizon guy emptied my contacts on the phone and uploaded my phone book from my BlackBerry.
I want to sync my Droid's address book to a second gmail account I made just for this purpose, but I can't get them to sync over. How do I delegate my phone's contacts sync with that second Gmail account?
I added it under Gmail and logged in. Under Contacts > Accounts, that account sync is ON for contacts and auto-sync & Background data is checked.
