I just updated to 4.3 on Verizon and now my led notifications do not work and the LED option in settings is no longer there. where it went and how to get the led back?

My phone updated last night and afterwards I've been experiencing problems. I had 6 apps in the bottom bar including the apps button and I was forced to remove one so the others would fit. My main concern is that my mobile data on off switch in the notification bar is no longer there.

As far as I know there have been no changes to warrent this. Sometimes the pc pops up with a messege saying the drivers could not install correctly.

The mobile network works and im able to make calls, but the data doesnt (all switched on).
Phone is THL W8S running latest v1.0.6 firmware.
I rooted my phone (Samsung Galaxy S Showcase i500) the other day and deleted a lot of the stock apk files, the ones that I thought I didn't need .
One of them was Voice Search (and also voice commands, if that matters). Now, my speech or voice to text in my text messaging program is not working. Whenever I press the mic icon, nothing happens. Through searching I think I've determined it's because I deleted the voice search apk?
Whenever I go to the Market to download Google Voice Search, the Market says its already "installed"...but obviously its not?! I've tried downloading the file from other places but when I try to install it says "There is a problem parsing the package."
Bottom line, how do I get my speech to text back?
After the 2.1 update my notification light has stopped working. It no longer lights up for anything! Anyone else have this issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn the last 3 weeks, I've found that Chrome To Mobile has stopped working for my Chrome browsers on mulitple desktops, to multiple devices. "Print" requests on the Cloud Printer Beta page show my requests, stuck in a perpetual state of "Queued" ... until I delete them.
Deleting and adding the devices hasn't worked. Neither has stopping and restarting Chrome sync.
adbd insecure no longer works on the GS3 4.3 update.
I updated to SuperSU 1.80 and CF-Autoroot worked fine, but now adbd insecure says "Binary: Insecure, USB debugging: Disabled" even though I did enable USB debugging. In Eclipse DDMS it just shows the phone as "Offline" but if I change back to "Binary: Original" it will show up normally, except of course I can't access most of the files. If I toggle the USB debugging checkbox off and back on, it will read "Binary: Original, USB Debugging: Enabled" but no combination of turning things on and off on the phone will ever get both "Binary: Insecure" and "USB Debugging: Enabled" to show up together now.
It was working fine until today. I haven't been able to get any new emails all day today, but my Gmail email comes in just fine.
I tried deleting the account from my phone and re-adding it, but it still doesn't work.
I noticed on my iPhone, it has an update my Dropad doesn't so i tried to update it but when i go onto my apps and press fruit ninja it says it is no longer available. When i search it into the android market it doesn't show up, the only place i can find it is on google play but i cant download it as it is incompatable.
Why could i download it before but not now, i have the system specification so i should be able to download it.
My hero has stopped giving me the notification to connect to any pc, it still charges, but I can't access my files. It's been happening for a few months, it worked ok for the first 6 months I had the phone, I've tried numerous PCs and cables, but nothing has worked. I'm currently stuck on v1.5 of Android.I've contacted Orange, but they've just passed me on to HTC, can anyone help before I just give up and buy an iphone?!
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs a former Eris and Android 1.5 user, the only thing I can complain about with 2.1 is that the notification bat icons no longer have numbers over them. Does anyone know if this is fixed in 2.2? Or if there's a way to get it back that I'm not aware of in 2.1?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my notification bar is no longer sensitive to touch. All the notifications are showing up but when I go to pull the screen down it no longer recognizes this action or that I'm touching it. Every once in a while it will work again for no reason that I can tell.
When I try and press on the bar it usually thinks I'm pressing whatever widget is at the top near it. I've tried moving finger positioning but to no avail.
On Froyo, you have to manually format Yahoo Mail a bit differently to make it work:
imap.mail.yahoo.com
smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
This has been working for me for weeks now but suddenly it is giving me "incorrect username or password" error.
For some reason my Peep is no longer working.....won't allow me to sign in using my twitter acct details.

Root explorer appeared to be working (tho the apk didn't update :|) Attempted today (i was plugged in to my computer, but was not in USB mode) and RE seemed to be stuck on a bl ck screen after it got SU permissions. Pressing menu key caused it to fc. I un-/re-installed and even rebooted. Still no luck. I was planning on flashing a nightly anyways. Wonder if that will help.

View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I tried the latest ICS rom (URL.....) for Desire and when I reverted back to Gingerbread my notification LED, torch led stopped and camera working. Same thing happened two months ago and I ended up sending it back to HTC for repairs and all they did was some software changes but I'm not sure what.I tried resetting the phone with the RUU and their still not working.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure when this started happening or if it ever even worked, but my vibrate notifications do not work for text messages or email (i'm using K-9). I've gone through EVERY possible setting, in the messaging app, in K-9, and the standard phone settings, to ensure that Vibrate Notification is indeed on, and yet it does not work. It doesn't matter if my phone is on Vibrate Mode, Silent Mode, or Normal Mode, no vibration notifications.
I've tried restarting the phone, nothing works.
My Haptic Feedback works perfectly.
The switch has been a bit finicky for a few months. Today it stopped working all together. I couldn't turn the phone on except my plugging in power. Then I couldn't shut it off. I pulled the battery to try and reboot but now I can't turn it on. I opened the back but there is a star shaped screw and another with a void sticker on it. I was thinking of taking a look at the button leads to see if there is something lodged in there of perhaps if they were just dirty, I could clean them to get a better connection....but I will be crossing a line if I do.
The big question is....who do I turn to regarding a repair? Since I bought it from google, I don't think T-mobile will help. Once I finally reach the right person at google, they will most likely say ship it to us and we will look at it when we get around to it.

It had been working beautifully for awhile on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7, but now it has stopped working on both I've got syncing checked on both devices under accounts, so I dunno WTF is wrong. Since I use G+ on the desktop most of the time, it's extremely annoying to have to clear notifications on three different devices (PC, phone, and tablet).
My notification and alarm sound has stopped working however when I go to play music off my phone it still works.
I have gone into the Volume section under Sound and tried to mess with the volume levels. When I turn the alarm level up to the highest it can go, instead of playing my alarm sound it plays a very faint beeping noise. When I turn up my notification level it makes a similar beeping noise.
Over the past 2 days i have noticed that the green led is no longer flashing when i receive an email.Has anyone else got this issue?I cant see a specific option to enable the led, so i doubt i have turned it off (plus it sometimes works).I was thinking of doing a hard reset - anyone got any advice before i do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have BB 0.9 as well as the smokeless glass theme and noticed that on my SMS app, CHOMPS MS the LED does not work. I try to 'test notification' but the LED does not flash regardless of the color I choose. This is extremely annoying as I don't know when I have a text anymore unless I hear my phone. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as going back to Handcent but still no luck. Is there an easy solution for this? I'm hoping!

For example, when trying to long press on an icon to move it, it will open the application.I have noticed this only when charging the device. Anyone else have notice this strange behavior?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions of Android that supported: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" /> the device displayed the content correctly resized in Webkit - in fact, all devices that recognize meta viewport work fine for me. Android 2.2, of course, has broken this - all items show up full size regardless of what is set in the meta tags. Anyone have a workaround, or is this fubared for now?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Eris is just no longer working as a phone. The only place I get good signal strength is at the Verizon store. I think the radio is dying because the other 3 Eris droids in my house (wife and 2 kids) all show 15 - 20 dB higher (less negative) signal strength.
I went to VZW store for some help and all they could do was #228 option 1 and *228 option 2 and recommend that I get a task killer app and use it 3 times a day.
So, anybody know how to get past the sales side and get to somebody that can determine if the phone is broke?
Data and apps all work fine, I get 3G everywhere, and it's rooted (so is the wife's) using XTRROM 4.2(me) XTRSense 4.2 (wife) - kids not rooted.
Prior to upgrading to 2.1 (UK) today, I used the pattern unlock feature (a great feature) to unlock my phone. After the 2.1 u/g was complete the phone reverted back to the unlock slider + entering a password. So, I head to settings->location & security settings-> phone lock settings. Now the only option I can access is 'Change unlock password', which is fine, but unfortunately the 'use visible pattern' & 'use tactile feedback' options are greyed out....however they each have a green tick against each item which I've taken to assume means they're enabled! If it's enabled where do I enter the pattern?
While I'm here....if I look in applications, filtering on all, for some reason I have three 'Settings Storage' apps for various sizes....this doesn't sound right?
How do I stop getting update notifications for specific apps that I either do not use but do not want to remove, or do not use and cannot remove?
