I know that you are supposed to initially let your phone charge for 8 hours, but is it a problem if you charge it longer? I should be getting mine tonight, and plan on plugging it in when i get it but just want to make sure it won't harm the battery to leave it plugged in overnight for longer than 8 hours.

Since i got 2.2 it is taking much longer to CHARGE my battery. Before the update, it seemed to gain about 1% every minute, so about 1.5hrs to go from 15% or so to full. I thought it seemed longer lately, so at about 11:20 i plugged it in with 17%. At 1am, it was at 66%. Usually it would be close to or at 100%. What gives?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, a couple of days ago I dropped my Acer Liquid Express on the pavement, and the impact caused it to shut off, and stay off.
If I plug it into a charger (wall or PC) the screen lights up and it shows itself to be charging as usual, so there's still some sort of life in it, but it won't register a charge in the battery (it was on at least 50% when I dropped it). It also won't respond to any button presses, meaning I can't turn it on, perform a hard reset or access it from PC. I've tried the usual tricks, taking out the battery and sim card, holding the power button for x amount of time, and I'm currently leaving it on to charge for a couple of days to see if it wakes up.
My question is, is my phone salvageable or would I be better off throwing in the towel and replacing it? Is it possible a replacement battery would kick it back into life? It isn't completely dead, as it displays the charging animation when I plug it in, but I'm really not sure what can be done with it at the moment.
I woke up this morning with about 45% battery after 2.5 days on standby and i installed the updated while charging the phone. after the update successfully installed it started charging again at 49% and its taking a lot longer to charge. im guessing this maybe a good thing..before this i got 3-4 days without charging (many emails on phone, texts, a few calls) and i had gps off and htc sense for facebook off, now im going to see how long it lasts with those two things on, since this update addressed the issue with facebook for htc sense.

Then this morning Verizon pushes out some update and suddenly when im on the phone 3g disappears.from the top bar and I get an error message that I can't connect to the web. What happened and is there anyway.to reverse this?

Prior to the 2.2 upgrade and even for a while after the upgrade it used to show the actual city or town I was in. I've played around with the settings under Settings -> Location but nothing makes a difference.

It was about 90 degrees outside and I had the AC blasting in my car as I drove along the highway.....I noticed after a while that the bolt in the battery display was missing, meaning it wasn't getting charged, and that at the same time the notification LED was alternating between orange and green. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't charging anymore, but after I changed the vent in my car from forward to indirect (there is a vent that shoots air upward right below the mount, coincidentally) it cooled down and started charging again.

1. Did you charge the phone for the 8 hours (or until full) before you used it, or did you get to playing with it right away?

I want to connect me Incredible to me stereo, and well, I only have a normal radio without an AUX input or anything of the sort. The only way I could actually do it is via FM transmitter. so my question is, what is the best set up for this? I want to charge the phone as well as transmit music from it. I have an iPod Touch and have had the same FM transmitter that supplied power to it as well as transmitted amazingly for the past 2 years. I basically want this phone to replace my iPod Touch.

They said there wasn't a hot ticket about this issue and offered me a replacement battery. I suggest everyone call them and let them know this is problem. 8664498358 I refused the battery as I do not believe it is the issue. I told the rep that I just wanted to make the issue known. I suggested everyone call to let them know there are several people with this problem, not so you can try to get a free battery. I also called Verizon to order a spare battery, then I ordered a separate battery charger from fommy.com to deal with this issue until it is fixed. Shame on you to those who thought they could "steal" a battery from HTC.

View 28 Replies View RelatedYesterday I noticed that my emails from my phone were not getting sent.Today I noticed I had a bunch in my outbox that said sending.I have the sync turned on and all my other Google apps sync (Calendar, Picasa, Contacts) but gmail never updates.I can't force it to send and receive either.And I can't remove my account to set it up again without doing a factory reset.Any ideas why just my gmail is not syncing anymore?BTW I tried to uncheck all sync options turn off phone and back on then check them again without any luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to Froyo (Manual Update.zip method), the stock internet browser crashes on load of MULTIPLE sites....including Android forums here.
It loads up a little bit of it...you see some sign of loading...than before it fully loads...CRASH, just closes itself down. This is also true for most of any other forums I visit with the phone. I also noticed a crash from other sites as well. What's the deal? I tried clearing all my history, cookies, etc. on the browser...also tried a couple of battery pulls.
NOTE:
Dolphin Browser HD does not have this behavior....but I would much prefer to continue using Stock browser (It is WAY faster now). ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE.

Even after leaving it plugged in overnight, the next morning I was still at less than half charge, going only by the Settings>About Phone>Battery>Battery Level graphical display. Last night same thing, whether the phone was on or off, still a yellow charge light. Today for the first time since I got the phone, the battery indicator itself turned yellow towards the end of the day.Preemptive facts:Prior to starting a new thread, I did a thorough search and found nothing related to this specific battery issue.I have the OEM, red, HTC battery, and have never charged it outside of the phone, or with any charging cable other than the one supplied with the phone.When I first received the phone, I charged it fully, unplugged, and bumped charged before turning it on. For about a week afterward I would charge to green while on, unplug, turn off, and "bump charge". I have never had trouble getting through the day on a single charge, and no, I don't think I was training a lithium ion battery, I believed I may have been training the software of the phone itself.I have tried charging the phone fully both on and off, and have not seen green for over two days. This includes continuous charging for over 10 hours.I have had the phone for roughly seven weeks.The phone does charge- just now I have gone from @25% (as measured on the aforementioned graphical display) to @40%, but at that point it seems to no longer charge, although the "Battery State" says "Charging AC" and the little battery icon shows the charging animation.Have I got a dead battery, or am I missing something? I've tried both and honestly I think it may last longer with the charge, turn off and charge and then stop.does repeatedly bumping it to green 3, 4 or even 5 time hurt the battery?
