View 4 RepliesQuick question about EASY ROOT,On the Unstable Apps site (Easy Root is back! | Unstable Apps)They give you both the option to buy the app using PayPal or to download the .apk.is the .apk free? why would they just give it to you?
View 14 Replies View RelatedHas anyone tried the Easy Root App that was listed last night on Droid-Life.com? I see in the Android Market that it lists compatibility for Droid 1 and Droid X and then also shows Droid Incredible. Has anyone had success using this new App to root their Incredible? If so, thoughts? Should you use the Easy Root App or unr EVOked3?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but it was really easy to root my phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got the awesome Evo 2.2.I am sorry if this has been asked but is there a easy batch file or one click ROOT yet? If not do you think there will be one? I am horrible and a novice at terminal codes.I am trying to root my phone so I can use the WIRELESS TETHER.apk.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLet me start this off by saying today was my first time trying to root but I've read a lot about it. Anyways, I bought Easy Root this morning and rooted without any issues. Got Titanium and backed everything up. Got Rom Manager and downloaded Sapphire 1.0.0. I tried to install it, but when I tried to flash into Clockwork Recovery I was just brought to the regular recovery screen. Not realizing this at the time, I proceeded to wipe the phone and reboot. Obviously, it did not install the Sapphire Rom. For some reason, I figured I should just go back to stock android 2.2, so I did that. I still have the Superuser Permissions in my Apps, but when I go into Titanium, it says I'm not rooted. I even had it download a new version of BusyBox. I'm guessing this is because I went back to STOCK 2.2. Why do I still have the ninja icon, though? I can't download Easy Root because it's been removed from the Market. Is there some other way to give Titanium SU permissions?
View 10 Replies View RelatedUpdate: I realized later that "EASY" might be a bit of a stretch. This guide is easy for anyone already experienced with adb (ie. rooted other android phones). I will update this thread as the methods get easier and easier. I have also attached a screenshot of my command prompt as I entered all of the commands so you can see the appropriate commands and follow the guide through.I followed the guide here: http://rootzwiki.com - How to Root the Samsung Fascinate and it worked flawlessly. I just posted this over at XDA as well.Took me less than 5 minutes.Download the SDK here if you don't have it already: Android SDK | Android Developers.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem downloading Easy Root..I bought it once, refunded it because I didn't have anough money in my account, then bought it again the same day...andnow it finally went through this morning and it says purchased because I got paid this morning...but when I try to click install it says "Download unsuccessful"...I've tried everything to get it to install but it won't work and I can't refund it again. If I could refund it again I would be able to successfully install it like I did with Rom manager and setCPU.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt all started with a awesome home page and wanting to screenshoot it and finding out my Droid2 did not have software or shortcut keys like my GT7 to do this. So I read for some time until I felt confident in a safe rooting procedure which turned out to be the "Z4Root App". It's ridicously easy with the Droid2, download it, install it, open it, click "root permantley" and bang you've been granted root_access. After rooting I went with Screenshot Ultimate which claims screenshots can be done w/o Root which turned out to be untrue but w/root it works without a hitch. Unfortunately, it saves your screenshots in a very stupid place but you can access them through a file manager not the gallery but none the less it has accomplished the goal. Im curious to see how far root_access can take me
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am rooted with the first of toast's steps and running an early fresh rom 2.1. I never felt up to doing the rest of the steps and I never did the ota update. Does anyone know whether I can simply use the simple root to rerot or fully root with recovery now in order to flash the rooted 2.2 roms that require nand /recovery and does it matter that I never did the update?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI paid the 9.99 and it seems to be missing some drivers, anyone else have this issue I'm running it on a vista system.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIve done some searches and nothing seems to work. Some folks say you need HTC Sync, others the Android SDK.
What happens on my machine is I get two devices in Windows Explorer saying removable disk. However if I click on them, it thinks its a CD or DVD by asking please insert a disk.
I just need to copy a few files over, and for security reasons I don't want to email them to myself.
To those of you who are wondering. This is NOT what you're looking for. http://unrevoked.com /m/unrevoked.apk Do NOT use it on your HTC Incredible. It's for the Evo 4G.
View 15 Replies View RelatedStock DINC w/Froyo. I can easily upload pictures via WiFi/3G from Gallery because both Facebook and Facebook for HTC Sense are shown on the Share menu. But when I try to upload videos, the Share menu doesn't have either Facebook option. What gives? The only way I have been able to upload videos to FB is to connect the DINC to my computer and use the video upload feature in FB in my computer browser. Any suggestions?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe one thing which I hate about Sense is the ridiculous swipe to answer feature when the phone is locked, I found Easy Answer Button and My Phone Tools. I used both but with limited success. It seems that with either one of those apps installed, I would constantly miss calls. The phone simply wouldn't ring and/or vibrate. I have my phone set to ring and vibrate when I receive calls. When using My Phone Tools, the first few seconds of the ringtone would play, and then it would be stop abruptly. With Easy Answer Button, the results were even worse: I would receive a call and the phone would not ring or vibrate. Of course, this didn't happen every time I received a call. But, when using these apps, a day didn't go by where I didn't miss a call because my phone simply didn't ring.
For those Incredible owners who have used either one of these apps, I'm wondering about your experience with them. Have you experience a similar problem with your phone not ringing/vibrating? I'm trying to determine whether or not it's just me or another app I have installed on my phone. It's been a day since I uninstalled Easy Answer Button and I have yet to miss a call. This leads me to believe that it's one of those two apps. Also, are there any other apps out there with a similar functionality? I'm currently running stock 2.2 (rooted, s-off), and not too interested in running stock vanilla. But I am wondering what other options to the slide to answer feature are out there.
Was wondering if anyone knew if there was an "Easy Root" app or one in the making (like the one for Moto-Droid). Ive rooted my phones before (G1 & Moto-Droid) and did it the manual way---however the root process on the Evo seems long and drawn out for some reason and seems like it would have to be done on a non-busy Saturday afternoon. Any help (other than rooting my phone the manual way--I'm a member of XDA site so I view their forum as well) would be greatly appreciated.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLooking for reasons to purchase the full version. Just drove from SE VA to DC, and had the tether all the way up I95, without any problems.
Any reasons anyone can give me for purchasing the full $10 version?
Ok, I ran the new beta flash, it appeared to do what it was supposed to do, it got hung up on the clockwork recovery page, but rebooted. Now, how do I tell if I am rooted?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI had a rooted Incredible using this method before however I had a problem with the on screen keyboard so I got a replacement. The replacement just came yesterday. I have the HBOOT drivers installed and my phone comes up in device manager as "Android Composite ADB Interface"
Did they apply a new update to the phone that prevents rooting? If so how long before I can get around it?
I'm new to android development and I want to create a menu for my app. The problem is that when I search for instructions, they all want to talk about what to do when the user presses the menu button which is not what I'm looking for.
The user would load my app and be presented with something pretty much identical to this.I have one of the three parts coded and working just fine, but in the end I want the user to choose between the three options instead of stacking the three parts vertically on one screen.
