View 4 RepliesI am running modaco 3.2 core custom rom ssh seems pretty good very little lag but cant help thinking that something is wrong as titanium back up, wireless teather and super user permision don't work they all load and then the screen goes black and says su request in the corner before saying activity su request(in application superuser permissions)is not responding, force close. i rooted and also started using gde home mod got to say it is pretty good although i had to pay for it but has a good replacement for sence only trouble is widgets don't seem to work or just aren't there except for clock, conversation, any of you experiencing this problem?is there something similar but better that widgets do work. what is the best firmware/rom upgrade e.g 1.6-1.8 or 2.1. Has anyone got these working well on the hero. Is there a big delay when waiting for a alert after you receive a message or is it just my hero?
View 7 Replies View RelatedUpdate: I realized later that "EASY" might be a bit of a stretch. This guide is easy for anyone already experienced with adb (ie. rooted other android phones). I will update this thread as the methods get easier and easier. I have also attached a screenshot of my command prompt as I entered all of the commands so you can see the appropriate commands and follow the guide through.I followed the guide here: http://rootzwiki.com - How to Root the Samsung Fascinate and it worked flawlessly. I just posted this over at XDA as well.Took me less than 5 minutes.Download the SDK here if you don't have it already: Android SDK | Android Developers.

What happens on my machine is I get two devices in Windows Explorer saying removable disk. However if I click on them, it thinks its a CD or DVD by asking please insert a disk.
I just need to copy a few files over, and for security reasons I don't want to email them to myself.

But when I try to upload videos, the Share menu doesn't have either Facebook option. What gives? The only way I have been able to upload videos to FB is to connect the DINC to my computer and use the video upload feature in FB in my computer browser. Any suggestions?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe one thing which I hate about Sense is the ridiculous swipe to answer feature when the phone is locked, I found Easy Answer Button and My Phone Tools. I used both but with limited success. It seems that with either one of those apps installed, I would constantly miss calls. The phone simply wouldn't ring and/or vibrate. I have my phone set to ring and vibrate when I receive calls. When using My Phone Tools, the first few seconds of the ringtone would play, and then it would be stop abruptly. With Easy Answer Button, the results were even worse: I would receive a call and the phone would not ring or vibrate. Of course, this didn't happen every time I received a call. But, when using these apps, a day didn't go by where I didn't miss a call because my phone simply didn't ring.
For those Incredible owners who have used either one of these apps, I'm wondering about your experience with them. Have you experience a similar problem with your phone not ringing/vibrating? I'm trying to determine whether or not it's just me or another app I have installed on my phone. It's been a day since I uninstalled Easy Answer Button and I have yet to miss a call. This leads me to believe that it's one of those two apps. Also, are there any other apps out there with a similar functionality? I'm currently running stock 2.2 (rooted, s-off), and not too interested in running stock vanilla. But I am wondering what other options to the slide to answer feature are out there.
Looking for reasons to purchase the full version. Just drove from SE VA to DC, and had the tether all the way up I95, without any problems.
Any reasons anyone can give me for purchasing the full $10 version?
I'm new to android development and I want to create a menu for my app. The problem is that when I search for instructions, they all want to talk about what to do when the user presses the menu button which is not what I'm looking for.
The user would load my app and be presented with something pretty much identical to this.I have one of the three parts coded and working just fine, but in the end I want the user to choose between the three options instead of stacking the three parts vertically on one screen.
Has anybody been able to get nfs working on the incredible there is a version (1.04 i think)floating around that is supposed to work for snapdragon. I can't get it to install. It says not enough space when installing via astro or any other file managers while i have hundreds of mbs free. I am rooted but everything is stock others reported the same thing when trying to install. I tried to install via adb but i am not positive on how to do it. Has anyone gotten this to work on the incredible.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my Incredible last week. Along with it I bought the HTC car mount from the Verizon store. When the phone was placed into the mount the touch screen would not work. The phone works fine out side of the holder, and fine in the holder but not when the holder is attached to the suction cup arm. It's like the phone is squeezed or something... it wont even unlock. I took the holder back to the Verizon store, the tech support girl was confused as well. We pulled another holder out from the back and it did the same thing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust a heads up that your Cox POP email might not work properly on the incredible.I just set up my cox POP email on the incredible's email client and I can only read incoming mail from the POP email server but can not send email via the SMTP outgoing server. The same issue occurs if you use other android email clients that you download.I spoke with Cox, Verizon and eventually HTC tech support about the issue and after several hours of research (the last 1.5 hrs done by HTC) it was discovered that the incredible is unable to connect to the Cox outgoing smtp server for the west coast (smtp.west.cox.net). The HTC support team was able to use different mobile devices on the Verizon network to connect to the cox outgoing server (which means the server is just fine), but they were unable to get any incredible to connect to the cox outgoing server. (They tried a couple of incredible phones).
HTC support was fantastic. It took a very long time to get a support person on the phone but when I eventually spoke with someone they drilled deep into the problem and drug in many others on their team.HTC informed me that they are going to elevate this issue to the next level of support (which could take up to 14 days). Hopefully they can resolve this or I'll have to ditch the phone and head back to my old phone.if you use smtp.west.cox.net as your outgoing server keep an eye on this thread

Is there a simple way to get my N1 to sync with iTunes without having to download and install a bunch of software? I'm new to the whole Android scene and I looked at Double Twist, but was looking for something a little easier since I'm on a Mac and I sync some other "i" devices with iTunes and I'm worried about the programs maybe not playing nice with each other? I'm not looking to sync my whole library, just maybe a few playlists. Is there an easy way to do this?

if at all possible does anyone know an easy way to USB tether to the PC without having the hotspot on ur phone. I have seen the apps in the market but I am not too good at this and the instructions aren't that clear so a step by step would be awesome. I tried PDAnet but couldn't get it working any shared experience would help. I only want to do this because my brother was able to tether back in the day with his instinct and connect his PC to his xbox 360 and play online that way so gamers if I can an answer we can all get free connection for xbox live.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNew to Motorola droid. I was wondering if there is a shortcut to show you what apps/tasks you have running, and allows you to easily switch between them? Currently, I just hit the home button to get out of one app/task and then switch to the screen with the app I want, and click on the app/task. I imagine there is an easier way via a key or shortcut that will pop up my open apps and allow me to choose which one to go to. I figure with all the talk of the droid being a multitasker, I figure there would be an easy way to switch between tasks.
