Is it possible to set the screen to turn off, let's say, after 2 minutes, but have the phone only lock after, let's say, 10 minutes.
During the day I am in and out of my contacts constantly and I am unlocking my phone too much! I just want it to lock after a preset time, not every time the device is turned off.

I was playing around with my Nexus phone last week when I first got it. I was messing the screen sleep settings. I could have sworn there was option either associated with that or somewhere in the settings where it asked you how long it would take for the phone to lock the screen after it went to sleep.

Is there any way to make the "end" button on the Samsung Moment not lock the screen and instead end whatever process that is currently being run/used/viewed, and possible have an assignable soft-touch or side key to lock the phone, or even a menu option or application.

It does this maybe once a day and the only way to unlock the lock screen is... you can't. I have to pull the battery out and put it back in, then wait the entire three minutes it takes to restart.
EDIT: Sometimes it doesn't lock, but I can't pull down the unlock all the way. It sits there near the bottom of the screen and I can kind of move it around, but I can't pull it all the way down.
This is unbearably frustrating because I use the cardio program to track all my fitness. If it locks up in the middle of a workout, I can't save or see my progress. Obviously, I can't make a guess as to the distance I've traveled because I'm training for a marathon and I need exact numbers.
This is not to mention god knows what kind of screw-ups might result from so many restarts and forced shut down by pulling out the battery.
Every time i lock the screen the SIM locks as well, meaning I have to enter the SIM pin code every time I unlock the phone! Also no one can call me since the SIM is locked. Anyone else got this problem? This happened once in a while on 1.6 but since my update to 2.1 this morning it happens every time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI ordered a combo kit from amazon, very cheap. I know some chargers lock up the screen, but this one had a review from someone with an Inc. saying it was fine. Anyway, wall charger locks screen, but shows it is charging, led lights up. Car charger works fine, no screen locking up.
So... am I doing any damage to my phone using wall one? Was thinking I would just use overnight when phone is off. Anyone else using one that locks phone?
I can always just toos wall one, and keep the car one, still great deal for the $4 is spent.
I recently was sent an OTA update and did it. Well , it wiped all my work Exchange settings out. I reconfigured and now I am forced to log in with a password AFTER I swipe the screen lock at the bottom.
This was occurring before the 2.2 update in Sept. and I used the No Lock App. Well now, the No Lock app doesn't even work. I work for a small company and they couldn't find the "Mobile" settings in Exchange that I have read about in other posts. Anyone know why this is happening and if there is a fix? I have other Android users at my office and they do not have to unlock with a password.
I have the screen timeout set to 1 min which works fine until I use the phone. When using the phone the screen times out (and locks) in about 5 seconds. This is a real pain when using voicemail etc and you need to interact with the keypad.

While trying to set it up for someone I noticed that hitting the power button doesn't lock the phone and you have to wait for the screen to timeout, and then it still is iffy when it locks. How do I manually lock the screen with out the time out? Hopefully someone can help me.

View 11 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible just got updated to the 2.1 update1 firmware. When the update was installed all of my pictures stored on the phone were deleted. Now when I take a picture, most of the time, the phone will just show the picture I took on the screen but not allow me to to do anything (take another picture, share, delete, etc.).
The only thing I can do to get the phone responsive again is to click the home screen button and then the click camera icon (repeatedly) until the camera is responsive again. I tried switching the phone to save to the Micro SD card instead of the Phone memory but am still having the same problems. I have also tried turning GEO-Tagging on and Off but that does not effect problem.
I am using fresh 2.1.2 and have the vanilla lock screen but I want to know if it is possible to put the time and date back onto the lock screen? Wondering why flipz took it out in the first place?

What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). To end the call (or enter numbers in a call menu) I need to press the sleep button to get the screen to light up again. This is a pain in the a$$.I have the screen timeout set for 2 mins.

I have it set to pattern lock and the only time it will work is when I so a battery pull and even then it does it for maybe fifteen minutes. I always have to hit a button when driving to get the phone to kick back on. That said - I hate the lock screen. I don't know why, but that curved bar - swiping down..... i just don't like it.
The standard android lock screen, IMO, is 100x times better( nexus and droid).
Does anyone know if there's a quick way to turn off the sense lock screen, but keep sense active? I know there's ways w/ rooting. But I don't plan on rooting.... after flashing winmo phones forever, I know better. Fixes one thing, but usually something else ends up not working.
So basically - looking for a way to disable sense lock screen w/o rooting.
