I am looking for an app that allows me to store photo's and or videos that no one can gain access to unless they enter a password. I know there is an app for iphone does one exist for the hero?

How do I access my online Sprint photo album that has all the pictures that I have uploaded on previous phones? It still exists online. And how do I upload pictures from my Hero to this album? Only see options for FB and Flickr.

For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
I just rooted my phone and loaded a 2.1 ROM (Damage Control v2.08). Everything seems to be working great. I went into my contacts (reloaded through MS Exchange) and noticed that some of the Facebook photos were auto linked to a contact, but some were not. I am guessing the ones that did not do not have a name that matches exactly did not load.With the stock phone, I was able to manually select the Facebook friend I wanted to associate with my contact and it added the picture.With 2.1, when I try to manually select a Facebook contact through "Link Facebook Profile", the screen doesn't list anyone to choose from.It is just blank and says "no matches found".Has anyone else had this problem? I'm trying to figure out how to manually link people. I can log into Facebook with no problem and everything there seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

But I am still a little new at this and am confused as to how to just put the vanilla lock screen on. The Phone is rooted and running DC 2.08
Does anybody else besides me also like the way the iPhone and Palm Pre both place the photo (or text "balloon") of peopl on alternate sides of the screen during text messengering and IM chat conversations? It really gives a nice sense the "back and forth" of real life conversation...and to also help distinguish one's own comments from those of the person one is conversing with...particularly if there's no actual photo in the phone book to show the person (you can still see the back and forth pattern Seems like such a great idea and so simple to implement! Why the heck can't they do that on our Android phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI REALLY need some assistance, think I screwed my phone, really want to avoid a hard wipe. I installed Lock bot the other day, has some issues with dual lock layers (i.e. the lock bot app wasn't disabling my HTC lock so I had two unlocks.). emailed dev and he sent me a beta version to hopefully correct issue. I only received an apk file from him. FYI I am on fresh 1.1, rooted. I used the kitchen to puch this file: "LockBotPro_1.10.0_beta.apk" to /system/app. The install went successfully, but later after a reboot I face a HUGE issue. The lock bot app is hanging upon reboot and will not unlock. At first I thought i would still be okay, I had ATK and Advanced Task manager both running at start up, so I can enter both of them through my notification drop down menu. I used both to kill the task-to no avail it is still locked. I tried to use advanced task manager to uninstall lock bot - to no avail, it cannot be removed. Then I tried to pull back the file through kitchen, to no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for this topic but I couldnt find it. I just upgraded my htc hero to android 2.1. I never set a password for the lock screen. So it ended up putting a password on its own. I called sprint tech support and talked to them for about an hour and finally figured out that the password is my google account password. Thats all well and good but I am not a big fan of password protecting my phone because I really dont have any information of value on it, but I do like having the lock screen so I dont pocket diel. I found a few programs that will disable the lock screen that will get around this problem, kind of. Does anyone have a clue how to disable the password protection and still keep the lock screen. Its just really irritating because I dont usually lock my phone and every time I try to wake it I have to unlock it.
I switched phones the other day.The 1st phon eI was able to set my lock screen with a provided wall papar. On teh new phone, it says I have no photos and will not let me go to wallpapers. Could this be because I hace swapped out the 2gig micro sd with a new sd card?Because I know I did it on the other phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis afternoon, I wiped my phone and am starting from scratch. Lock 2.0 was giving me some issues and with all the installing and uninstalling of app's I've been doing in the past couple of weeks, I just decided to start with a fresh slate.
Before I back and download Lock 2.0 again, I wanted to inquire with others out there on their experience with the App. I love it, but I wasn't sure if I didn't set it up correctly or I didn't understand how the app worked because it never did replace the default lock screen after I installed and configured it. I always had to manually launch it, unlock the screen and then it would take over.
Not exactly what I had in mind for my money. Was thinking it was a full replacement for the default lock screen. Maybe I didn't read the fine print well enough.
Also, what's been the experience with Open Home on the Sprint Hero?
I'll come clean and admit I'm a Mac super-user stuck without an iPhone (I love Sprint!!). I carry my iPod touch and my Hero with me pretty much everywhere. I am LOVING my Hero though! It does exactly what I wanted it to.
I like to get in and customize to the nth degree, but not at the expense of crappy app's that mess up my stuff.
Can I remove the lock screen function from my phone? I don't want my phone to have a screen lock. Just want to hit the power button (or any button) and have it turn on to whatever app was last open. I'm currently rooted with Fresh and Gumbo if it matters.
View 15 Replies View RelatedFresh 1.1 lock screen is clear. I personally do not like that, BUT when I try to load another one via Pre-kitchen, it loads, reboots, and its still the same. I click to clear cached lock screen, reboots, still the same. Anyone know why it won't change? the boot screen changed first try, so that is good, just that damn lock screen. I don't like the clear thingy.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm getting wake times near 100% with this ROM and I don't have the first clue why. I wiped and installed properly, and I have autokill set to optimal. Not runinng setCPU or anything, and I've never had this problem before so I don't think its an app.
If anyone could help, I would REALLY appreciate it. I tried dc2.05, but now I have the no audio issue on phone calls from this ROM, so I had to switch back for the fix -.- Really frustrated and really need a working ROM + phone =
AlwaysFlash seems to be the problem, uninstalled and wake time seems to be staying low under all circumstances.

My main problem with it is that, if I use the stock Messaging app, the messages show on the bottom...even though i have my phone locked with a pattern lock. I know I can use handcent and not have to deal with it, but I just want to know how to get rid of the stupid lock screen. I've read around a few places, and I know it's possible on 1.5, but I'm not too sure if it's possible for 2.1. Does anyone know where I can get instructions on who to disable the lock screen for 2.1, if it's even possible. My phone is rooted. Also, if I do disable the lock screen, and then i decide to put in a new ROM on my phone, what will happen?
