I really like better keyboard pro except for one thing: when i type the phrase/word "lol" it always suggests "LOL" (all caps) and auto types it when i press space (auto-correct feature) the only problem is i almost never capitalize this word, any way to get it to stop doing this without disabling auto-correct?

In 1.6 SDK I made the InputType = VisiblePassword and that seemed to stop it, however this does not appear to work in the 2.1 SDK.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt some point early on in my SF ownership, I accidentally pushed something that gave me a keyboard and word prediction that I like SO MUCH more than the little black box word prediction with Swype. I didn't download a 3rd party keyboard or anything. Problem is, I've somehow hit something again that has brought the black box popup word prediction and a different keyboard back. I've messed with every combination I can think of in Language and Keyboard, but can't seem to get the other keyboard back.
The keyboard I currently have is the one that has the letters and symbols on the same key. The one I like has just the letters on the keys and a symbol button to push to get just the symbols. The word recognition I want has a bar right about where you type that gives you suggestions and you can touch the suggestion you want and it will insert (it has the most likely suggestion in red, I think).
I make so many more typing mistakes with the black box prediction/current keyboard. Can someone tell me how to get the other way back?
I want to remove the word 'yo' from the keyboard because I don't use 'yo' and I hate whenever it accidentally autocorrects to 'yo' when I type in 'you'.
I know how to add words to the dictionary, but I can't seem to find the option to delete pre-inserted words from the keyboard.
I had my physical keyboard open and I started to get word prediction at the bottom of the screen again. But I cant figure out how to get it every time the physical keyboard is open. Most of the time I get nothing but this is the second time I have seen this at the bottom. Anyone know what going on with this. There isn't a setting for it for built in keyboard settings page. I wish it would work all the time because it is a nice feature.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I was using my x10 when it was only 1.6, when you typed a letter using the android keyboard, it would give multiple word suggestions (ie. i - is, it, in, etc.) which helped a lot. But with 2.1, if I turn it's word suggestions, it only provides me with proper names or contact names. Any way to allow 2.1 to use word suggestions other than these proper/contact names? I don't like the default keyboard. Can no one help? I don't think I'm the only one with this problem.

Then in the keyboard user clicks the 'Next' button and it launches the telephone type keyboard. But the same behavior is not observed in case of swift keyboard. View 4 Replies View Relatedits terrible. just cant type anything without mistakes. thats bullshit. tried to install some other keyboards, but even though theyre enabled in language & keyboard, i cant get them to work after froyo update (orange, unrooted). as much as i love my desire, yesterday i was so angry i almost smashed it on the wall because i was getting pissed of with the mf keyboard! i dont need fkin updates if the most important thing doesnt work - the keyboard! i also have an 3 gen ipod touch. the screen is smaller, resolution smaller, but typing is sweet.

In the screenshot at the bottom, you can see the virtual keyboard contains a returnline key and no "Done" key. I would like to specify a different style of keyboard to use (and hopefully retain the spell checking bar). I would like my virtual keyboard to have a "Done" key instead of a return key. First, my phone would just freeze on me for awhile and then unfreeze like nothing happened. Second, my screen turned completely black twice for no apparent reason. And third, I can't even type using Swype or the stock keyboard anymore! It's either I can type but it won't show.. or I just can't type anything at all as if it's stuck.

I use handcent sms and I've tried to turn off sound and vibration still no luck. I've tried to use the default messaging app and its the same...any solutions?
I've tried use the stock HTC keyboard and better keyboard with no luck, both still lag while in landscape mode.
I have rooted the phone and flashed Fresh 2.0d.
When you press the 'google search button' on your Hero it takes you to the Browser.. I then turn it in landscape mode to get a bigger keyboard. As soon as I press any of the keyboard buttons the keyboard bounces up and down..thus you can't type properly..
