Every once inwhile my keyboard stops working and I cannot type in any box that to fill in text. I tried the Swype and the Stock keyboard and both didn't work. The only way that I have been able to get it to work is by restarting the phone. Is there another way to fix this?

So yesterday my phone was working fine. No problems at all. But for some reason when I woke up this morning it started acting up. First, my phone would just freeze on me for awhile and then unfreeze like nothing happened. Second, my screen turned completely black twice for no apparent reason. And third, I can't even type using Swype or the stock keyboard anymore! It's either I can type but it won't show.. or I just can't type anything at all as if it's stuck.

I was very excited to see the option to use that virtual keypad to text. I am much faster on it than on the qwerty for sure!! Love love love this phone!

I guess there should be two options: autocorrect spelling mistakes I make and another option for autocompleting words I am trying to type. Too often I find that Swiftkey's "predicted" word option based on what I type is so far off that I end up sending a nonsensical message to people.

And multiple touches at times. Other than that, it's force closing my apps a LOT. iMusic, Messaging, Facebook... all force close regular. Tried removing apps, no change.

I do not see how this works given the lack of a real keyboard. To open the keyboard take a separate action and when holding MENU to then click the appropriate letter, all you get is the menu.

Then in the keyboard user clicks the 'Next' button and it launches the telephone type keyboard. But the same behavior is not observed in case of swift keyboard. View 4 Replies View Relatedits terrible. just cant type anything without mistakes. thats bullshit. tried to install some other keyboards, but even though theyre enabled in language & keyboard, i cant get them to work after froyo update (orange, unrooted). as much as i love my desire, yesterday i was so angry i almost smashed it on the wall because i was getting pissed of with the mf keyboard! i dont need fkin updates if the most important thing doesnt work - the keyboard! i also have an 3 gen ipod touch. the screen is smaller, resolution smaller, but typing is sweet.

In the screenshot at the bottom, you can see the virtual keyboard contains a returnline key and no "Done" key. I would like to specify a different style of keyboard to use (and hopefully retain the spell checking bar). I would like my virtual keyboard to have a "Done" key instead of a return key. View 2 Replies View RelatedGot a HTC Droid Eris the other day and absolutely love it.However, when adding a new contact on the phone, the drop bown menu box only lists "Phone" and does NOT give a "Google" or "Exchange" option as is indicated on p. 72 of the pdf "User Guide for Droid HTC Eris" by Verizon. I have examined 3 others Droid Eris phones of friends/family, and on each of their phones when adding a new contact the drop down menu box does list the "Google" option in addition to the "Phone" option.The problem with not being able to select "Google" as the contact type is that the contact information does not "sync" with the Gmail "Contacts List" online.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a CDMA Hero and when ever I type in landscape, the on screen keyboard is really laggy. The portrait keyboard is fine. I use handcent sms and I've tried to turn off sound and vibration still no luck. I've tried to use the default messaging app and its the same...any solutions?
I've tried use the stock HTC keyboard and better keyboard with no luck, both still lag while in landscape mode.
I have rooted the phone and flashed Fresh 2.0d.
When you press the 'google search button' on your Hero it takes you to the Browser.. I then turn it in landscape mode to get a bigger keyboard. As soon as I press any of the keyboard buttons the keyboard bounces up and down..thus you can't type properly..

When my phone is plugged in my cursor jumps to the left making it impossible to type or access applications that are not on the menu screen all the way to the left. It also navigates itself away from web pages and I think the constant left motion of the cursor makes the phone run slowly. I cant look at maps either.
