If i root my incredible when someone gains root access, will i need to unroot it to install OTA updates on 2.2 and gingerbread?

I have a Micromax a27 (ninja) with android 2.3.5 gingerbread. I have been trying to root it since long but I can't do so. I tried the unlockroot method but after some time unlockroot would show the error "failed to get shell root, please use our pro services" I also tried with unlockroot pro(one of my friends has it) but it showed rooting failed, wait next upgrade. How I can root my device.

I been trying to root it with Superoneclick and with DoomLord Zergrush, I keep failing all attempts, as I did research on this, I found out some info that says it is not possibe to root Gingerbread 2.3.6 (what I have) and that I need to dowgrade to 2.3.5 or to froyo (which is it?) , but SamMobile does not have Froyo available for download anymore...
So basically, I need to know how to root 2.3.6, main reason is I want to be able to change my Tab's HotSpot channel, and I read that this is only possible on a rooted GTab.
( Secondary question: On a quick note, is it possible to upgrade to HoneyComb/is it worth it?)

It is a tcc8902 based Android Platform that i need to root.Of course i already tried a "one Click" solution, like Gingerbreak (stuck rooting, i waited two hours), and z4root.I have no copy of stock rom (if i had i mod that and then flash...), and no CWM available for this system.Furthermore if boot into CWM, i have no vol up down available, no pwr button available.Other users tried to use back USB for rooting, but it seems it is useful for Wifi or 3G device only. I didn't try.
So... How can i root it?Is it possible, using the built-in flash tool into settings doing a flash dump (and then reflash back with root)?Is there a CWM recovery compatible with my device?
after i upgrade my android 2.1 to 2.3 gingerbread and root it..
i got my phone froze at "Sony Ericsson" before the logo in an hour.
Excuse my ignorance, but will rooted phones be able to download the new Gingerbread update when it's available?

View 6 Replies View Relatedfollowing the directions in the sticky, it says to download the sdk package manager (what ever its called) then install the sdk's for 1.5 2.1 and the usb drivers. then says go to device manager and find the little exclamation, then when i select the usb drivers to install from the device manager it wont allow me. i have two in the directory they are i386 and amd64 neither of them work.

Wonder if any experts here can help me. I have just received a new HTC Hero (T Mobile UK G2 Touch). Unfortunately it appears to be running a somewhat crippled version of the languages. My wife is Italian and frequently texts in Italian but unfortunately there is no Italian language support, only English, Dutch and Czech which seems strange. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to download or unlock Italian without rooting the phone? Would predictive text work and would I only be able to change the text language and not the whole phone language?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally (after some trouble) rooted my Captivate earlier today. Since then, I have not been able to download any apps from the Android Marketplace, either paid or free.
The apps get to the stage of "Starting Download" but just wind up hanging there infinitely.
Is it likely that something occurred during or indirectly related to the rooting itself that's caused this problem, or is this just as likely coincidental?

Now I am rooting the replacement and the Unrevoked 3 program gets stuck at "Waiting for root... (Safe to restart if this doesn't work)"
I have the HBOOT drivers installed and my phone comes up in device manager as "Android Composite ADB Interface"
Did they apply a new update to the phone that prevents rooting? If so how long before I can get around it?
I'm going to root my phone tonight once home from EMS crew. I want to keep my Stock SD card so that if anything happens I can just pop it back in. With the new one, will I need to preinstall all current and stock files/ folders or will it be formatted once I put it in for the first time pre-root?

Fonts are smaller and apps no longer formatted correctly, as in cant use them becuause stuff isn't displaying properly
Tried removing and reinstalling but no different.

All I want to do is turn the damn S to whatever, so I can tether my i pad for a bit. I don't want to remove anything, change anything, change a Rom (I think), or the like. I just want to be able to tether for a couple weeks, while on vacation. Since revoked 3 is down, I can access the beta. But, I need a site/thread that gives me really easy instructions on what to press and what not to press. So, since this is the only forum I trust, point me in the right direction, or give me a clue on the root for your parents version.

It started the phantom screen changing due to the trackball. I thought it was first my InvisibleSHIELD and then after removing it, I read up about the trackball and have done everything possible to clean it but no dice.
Anyways, I'd like to backup some applications and their data, i.e. Angry Birds and Alchemy via Titanium Backup.
I have no qualms about rooting my phone, but if I'm going to exchange it out for a new device, will a VZW tech be able to tell that I have rooted if they start nosing around for a possible fix? If so, again no big deal about un-rooting it as I have read up on how to do both topics.
I don't expect them to really know considering they used their own web forums when I took my wife's LG Ally in due to the "time without signal" flaw.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've searched for hours for this, so I apologize if it's answered elsewhere, I simply can not find a solution that works.when I start up Unrevoked for the Incredible, it says to plug my phone in. I do that, making sure it says debug mode is enabled in the drop-down pane. But the unrevoked screen doesn't change I've tried:
- mounting as disk drive
- "charge only"
- one Windows XP PC and one Windows 7 PC
- removed PdaNet and tried those options again
Nothing gets me past that screen. I tried looking for an HTC Sync app to uninstall, or setting to disable (since it says "make sure it is NOT installed"), but I wasn't able to find anything.
So I'm considering rooting, but don't quite know what all I will be able to do with it. Just a list of the advantages and risks of doing it would be cool.

then the loop stops, or I should say hangs up there till I hit control c then hit yes. I tried and tried for a couple hours and cannot get this to work. I followed everything on the 10 min video, but still cannot get it to work. in my device manager it is installed under android devices (my htc) not sure what that is windows XP pro.Also in the recovery mode it goes to HTC storage device.What am I doing wrong?
I am unrooting my phone and then going to reroot, but I since I installed the ota leaked update I have to do it the hard way. While using the command prompt to push the image file I keep getting "adb server out of date, killing..."
