I have heard about rooting a htc phone and was thinking about doing this to my htc hero, is this the same type of thing like u would perform on a iphone ie:jailbreak

Not sure if this is true for all phones. But on my EVO when i go to the gameloft website it now has free trial listed as available to download for all their games.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI appear to have gotten myself into a bit of a pickle. I recently bought a 3 Mobile HTC Hero and unlocked it successfully. After putting in my Vodafone sim card and starting up the phone, it doesn't seem to be letting me access Vodafone internet. I'm guessing this is because I have the 3 version of the ROM. Is there any way I can download the brand free rom or even just fix this internet problem? This is my first smart phone and I really didn't think this would be a problem. I assumed with android boasting it's open-source-ness that branding wouldn't be an issue.

Unfortunately it appears to be running a somewhat crippled version of the languages. My wife is Italian and frequently texts in Italian but unfortunately there is no Italian language support, only English, Dutch and Czech which seems strange. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to download or unlock Italian without rooting the phone? Would predictive text work and would I only be able to change the text language and not the whole phone language?

I'm also left wondering what happened to their other games such as Super Tumble, as only the Lite version is left. Maybe that's going free, too? Hyper Jump is also missing from my latest search (whereas the Lite version is there). I'm somewhat in shock as these are some quality games!? Hopefully we'll find out the full story soon.

When you get three brightly colored balls in a row, they disappear and you get some points. The tension comes as the balls wind their merry way towards a little yin-yang symbol. For some reason, the yin yang wants to eat your brightly colored balls--hey, it makes as much sense a blue hedgehog running around picking up rings. If it succeeds in swallowing your spherical friends, you lose. Robot Defense You don't get this tower defense game for free, but the demo is smashing anyway. Basically, the deal is that robots want to crush your human flesh and use your blood as some sort of newfangled robo-lubricant for their robotic joints. Your job is to protect your arse and the arses of those flesh-and-bone sacks closest to you. Battleship If you can play this game without hearing the "you sank my battleship" line from The Simpson's, we'll be very impressed indeed. There isn't much anyone can say that will persuade us that Battleship isn't one of the greatest games ever devised. And now, you can play it on your Android phone!

I looked through the forums to see if there's an easier way of accomplishing this than rooting my whole phone. The game is all about making sets of numbers that add up to "the target" (changes depending on the game # -- like freecell). I suck at any kind of graphic design, so sorry there are no "magical sparkly's"! I still think the game is really fun, and most of my friends (who are cool enough to use Android) seem to love it.Let me know what you think!
