I have 2.1 and have had it since the Rom was patched about a week ago. For the past 2 days I haven't been getting my gmail. Has this happened to anybody else? If I manually refresh both of my gmail accounts I have set up, then my emails appear.

For some reason my Gmail isn't getting pushed to my phone anymore - it's acting like it's polling or set to manual refresh. I didn't change any settings that I remember. The only thing that changed was an update to the Quick Settings app.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAbout a week ago, I ceased receiving my Gmail messages automatically. If I go into Gmail and do a manual refresh, the messages will show up. I have a DINC2running stock Gingerbread. The only change I made about the time this happened was the installation of GO Launcher, which I've subsequently removed. I've done a battery pull as well as a data cache clean up, all to no avail.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI did the official update today. I didn't mess with the one over the weekend.I use the gmail app for email. Emails are not being pushed instantly as they always have. Did a battery pull, and checked the sync settings, and they are all set to sync as they should be.

On the Pre, I had the option to "receive email as they come" or to have the mail application check for mail every x minutes. Why do I not have an option like that with the EVO? The only option that I can find re: checking email is to set it up to check for new email every x minutes or manually (click refresh). I'd love to have the emails come immediately (and I want the better battery life of having emails pushed).

I've been trying to tweak it to run as quick as possible, and, this morning, deleted my SMS texts to improve performace in Handcent. Worked well, even if I had to clear out all my old texts. No big loss. My question is: since my SMS texts were stored on my phone, does Gmail store all its emails on my phone, as well? I have a few thousand e-mails in gmail (2626 to be precise) and hope not! I wasn't sure how my phone accessed gmail, where it stored data, etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Eris. The "roller-ball" thing quick working on the phone so I ordered a new one. Now I want to get all the contacts from the old phone onto the new phone. How do I do this?
I have already gotten a gmail account. I also got an application on the Eris that was called "Export Contacts" which seems to export my contacts from the phone into a .cvs file which I think is saved on the SD card.
Now, how do I get get that .CVS file from the old phone to go into gmail??? If I could do that, then maybe I could get the contacts from the gmail into my new phone.
How do I do this?
My wife recently got a Droid Eris, set up her Gmail account and decided she didn't like the email address you had chosen. I created a second Gmail account for her, but when I try to send her and email to it, she does not get notification on her phone. Only if you send and email to her "original" Gmail address. Is it possible to set it up to receive notifications from both addresses on her phone? Delete one address and just use the new one? Etc, etc.

My problem is, I am wanting to do something so simple, I want to sync my contacts on my phone to my gmail account so that it's backed up (if anything happens to my phone) But i tried going to settings and it wont let me do it (maybe i am doing it incorrectly). But I do miss Windows Live since I'm a hotmail user (no switch to gmail comments please).My desktop gmail through the web is set up to "Send As" my hotmail account, but if I send a new email via my phone, it sends it from my gmail username.I did a search and it was inconclusive. View 12 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with my Gmail push feature. I opted for the Gmail app instead of the HTC mail app. The only issue is my emails aren't being pushed to my phone. When I go into the Gmail app and click on accounts & check the settings it has Auto Sync checked and also the correct Gmail account. When I go to settings>Accounts & Sync> Auto Sync is checked there as well along with my Gmail account. I have sent numerous test emails from my work PC to my personal Gmail account but the emails aren't popping up as new notifications or even in the Gmail app until I actually open the Gmail app several minutes later. What is going on here? I thought Gmail was supposed to be a true "Push" mail client that worked on the Incredible.

Now when I send her email, it takes up to 10 minutes before she receives it. I set yahoo mail up through settings>accounts>yahoo mail. I have heard some say that 2.1 will just over write 2.0.1 even if you are rooted with su permissions. I just want to verify that if I were to get a 2.1 update ota it wouldn't mess up my droid.

Currently, I have it set up to send me an e-mail to notify me, but I'm getting the Google voice notification before the e-mail notification. It's doing this on both my voice mail and my text messaging. Hopefully this isn't some fluke, because the update says nothing about push notifications.
