I'm looking for a call log widget and a voicemail widget which look like the default mail app widget.That is, a simple small widget which show me the number of missed calls (if it's the call log widget) or the number of voicemails received (if it's the voicemail widget), just like the mail widget shows the number of emails received.

for some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI checked all settings and even rebooted the phone but there's no more notifications in the notification bar when I get new emails using the Mail widget.I can see the emails fine but no notifications at all, no vibrate, no led flash no sound. It used to be working but doesn't seem to be working now.

View 17 Replies View RelatedNew to Android and to Hero but what I see I like a lot after swapping my iphone for this device.
I have bought an Orange branded Hero which has been unlocked and I have it working on O2.
I have 2 questions:
When I open the browser I get a message saying it won't connect to Orange WAP from a none orange device. I have set up the MMS and O2 WAP APN's and everything else seems to work even the browser works when I hit the search key. I should also add that I have changed the browser home page to O2 - any ideas?
2nd, I can't get the HTC mail widget to work with Googlemail. Googlemail works fine from it's own widget though.
Other than that, loving the phone and looking forward to really seeing what it can do - I might have a look at this "rooting" that everyone seems to talk about.
I just got a tattoo this week and have had a few problems, and thought I would post what I have seen so that other tattoo users can either add to the list, or respond with solutions or workarounds they have found.
1) many apps from previous android phones are not available (presumably this is because they are "incompatible with the smaller screen resolution, but I suspect that many of them are just incorrectly tagged for 1.5 sdk or earlier, but would likely still work with donut-1.6) but could easily be made available with a tiny bit of tweaking.
2) the HTC Mail widget can't be removed (or moved) from the second screen to the left on the Sense interface. Why even bother with this one over the gmail?)
3) speaking of Gmail - somehow it only accesses the messages which are actually to my gmail address, and not to other addresses which are forwarded to my gmail (and are always in my gmail inbox) do I need to install google gears to get this working (which is not, as I found out quickly "gears for android" as listed in the marketplace) as it does on my laptop?
4) All of this is would be easily solved if someone has just figured out to root this thing... I started along the hero donut instructions I had seen at unlockr, pressing the down volume rocker while turning it on.
Is there a way to set up the HTC Mail app/widget to have gmail pushed to it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLoving my new desire but its got one strange bug, for instance , when my gf calls me 'o2 network', the call goes strait to my voice mail, i was blaming her new phone as u do lol but when i called my phone using her handset, my phone dident ring and it went strait to my voice mail , woulent mind we were both in the same room, i did this a few times and it would connect fine but the odd time it failed to connect, checked signal and that was fine , so cant be the problem, anyone else had this problem?
View 10 Replies View Relatedall my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOne of the things I liked about Sense (I'm rooted now and running the Second Wave ROM) was the HTC weather animations when the screen was unlocked. After installing Widget Locker, I noticed an option to turn them on and now I have them back! I also installed the Weather & Toggle Widget and installed the weather skin that looks just like the Sense weather with the flip clock.The annoying part is that when it's sunny, or partly sunny, the "sun animation" from Sense doesn't perfectly align with the Weather & Toggle Widget weather icon. I know, I know, it's a minor problem and goes away when the animation is done, but the lack of symmetry sometimes annoys the hell out of me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am writing my first application and am trying to get my widget to load a different image when it is added to the home screen based on the state of the notification volume.It is detecting the notification state fine and the proper Toast messages appear when I add the widget, but I'm not getting any icon.I just get an empty button.I'm using the same code to change the icon in my onReceive() method to do other things and that works fine.Is this the proper way to accomplish that?

I have two Gallery widgets one above and one below. If the above one is scrolled then I want to pass the same touch event to the bottom widget so it also scrolls the same way.I have tried to use dispatchtouchevent events but I am facing an issue where in if the bottom gallery widget has some edit text then the edit text gets the key event and both widgets doesnt scroll anymore.I have tried to set focussable and editable to false on edittext even then it gets the touch events.I think I am going in the right direction. However I need some assistance in doing the right way.

Here is the best code sample that the developer documentation gives to what a widget activity should contain (the only other hint being the API demos, which only creates a static widget):

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been searching around the net and browsingthe APIs to find a way to forward an incoming phone call to voice mail, but with no success so far.I know it can be done since some apps do it already. I also know that blocking an incoming phone call is not possible yet and is an issue Google devs are working on.In the app i'm coding, I easily manage to detect an incoming phone call by listening to the phone state. But I cant make the phone NOT ring and NOT show the incoming phone call screen.I' ve tried to cut off the network via a ServiceState object, but that doesn't seem to work.

My only issues are 2 small problems: 1. My ring tone (same as before upgrade) fades if I pick up the phone to answer it....if I leave the phone on the counter it plays normally. 2. Where is the "send call to voice mail" option? I don't get that option anymore when saving a call to contacts.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOne thing I've noticed with my HTC Hero (Sprint) is that I have a very short period of time to answer an incoming call before the caller is directed to voice mail. When I do answer the phone people are routinely telling me that it rang 4 or more times before I answered even though, from my perspective, I answered it rather quickly. Could this have something to do with using downloaded ringtones? Perhaps, while the phone should be ringing, instead, it is loading the ringtone off the sdcard.
