View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I got tired waiting for my ota, and did the manual install without root, the one on androicentral. I don't know about battery life much but after the update, life was worse, I did the factory reset and still no improvement. And now it takes longer to charge for some reason. Any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedUnder settings theres a setting for screen time out..I put it to 30mins and leave the phone alone...the screen goes out in like 20 seconds...I'm pretty sure that's not 30mins...is this a software or hardware issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love my Droid incredible. I use it to stream Pandora here at work and it works awesome over the 3g network. Even at high quality. Anyway, I was considering keeping the screen on while the phone is charging. I always keep the phone charging while it streams the music, and it would be nice to see the album art on the screen. Before I do that though, I was a little concerned about damage to the screen. Is there any danger I should worry about? There have to be people who do this all the time and never had an issue before.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I have a weird issue that my Incredible home screen is unresponsive when I plug it into a wall charger. Meaning that when it is plugged in I can tap the power button to turn the screen on but I can't slide or hit the home button to unlock. I have to unplug the phone to bring it out of lock mode.It seems to only do this when I use a cheap micro USB charger I bought off of Ebay ($2.50 shipped). When I went to the Verizon store they tried to replicate the problem with their Blackberry brand micro USB charger and the problem didn't come up.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI would like the screen to stay on (on whatever brightness it's normally set at) when connected to external power. I've found the Settings/Applications/Development "Stay Awake" checkbox, but the screen still dims down after 30 seconds, though it doesn't go completely off.Is there a way to keep the screen on?All the WinMo phones I had had two separate profiles one for on battery and one for when on a charger, and you could set the screen brightness and timeout independently for each power profile. The reason for this is that I have a dashmount cradle of sorts that I use, and I generally put the phone in it and plug it in when I'm driving any sort of distance. I do things like look at the phone signal, see if new mail comes in, etc. while driving, and it's just reassuring to look down at the phone and see it doing something without having to hit the power button.
View 8 Replies View RelatedNot sure of this has been asked but is there a way to change what screen is displayed while the DI is charging?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a good question (I think). Is there a way to keep the screen awake while charging the phone? For example, I keep it on the charger almost all day while I'm at work. And it would be nice just to glance over at it to see if I have an email and such. Any ideas?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWith my Blackberry Bold, the screen times out after 30 seconds of inactivity. This is fine unless I am using the GPS and Google Maps. I always have to hit a button when driving to get the phone to kick back on. Without setting your screen time out to never, will the screen stay on using Google Maps on the Incredible? Also, people say the screen is hard to see in the sun. Will this be a problem in the car or does the screen have enough brightness if it is shaded in the car?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust noticed this on my top right hand corner the time still shows kinda like a shadow.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to set the screen to turn off, let's say, after 2 minutes, but have the phone only lock after, let's say, 10 minutes.
During the day I am in and out of my contacts constantly and I am unlocking my phone too much! I just want it to lock after a preset time, not every time the device is turned off.
My Incredible fell out of my pocket when I was getting out of my car and it cracked. The touchscreen on the Incredible still works, but the glass/LCD (or digitizer) is cracked. I don't have the insurance and since it's been a few months, I can't add it.
1) How much will Verizon charge to replace the glass/LCD (or digitizer) or provide a replacement phone?
2) What is the turn around time to get it fixed?
I've noticed that my awake time will keep going when EVO is charging through USB, but if I charge through AC adapter then awake time will stop like it should.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had the original droid and now a droid X. Normally when charging either of them it takes like 2+ hours to fully charge from a low charge. Tonight I was at a friends house and I took out this new cord I bought at walmart that came with a universal usb car charger. My droid was on 20% and within 20-30 minutes it charged to full! I'm almost positive the computer was charging it via usb 2.0. Now I have usb 2.0 on my home computers but it always takes 2-3 hours to charge. I went home and went from a 70% charge to 100% in minutes via this "new" cord and not using the cord that came with the droid. Is it possible the cord with the droid only will charge at a certain rate and this new cord is charging much much faster or enabling usb 2.0 instead of 1.0 or 1.1? It would be great to not have to charge my droid all night long all the time. Also is there a way to know if your droid is charging via usb 1.0, 1.1, or 2.0 or even usb 3.0? Does this make a difference with charging times?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have always been a little uncomfortable with the HTC widget on the home screen that took a large 2x4 block (2 rows x 4 columns) out of the home screen to display the time and weather.. especially because I wanted a few more apps to be displayed on my home screen that I regularly use..
So I removed the HTC clock widget that displayed the large 4x4 clock and weather and instead dropped the HTC clock widget that is 1x2 (5 of the 12 choices available in that widget).. and the HTC weather widget right next to it (or even below it).. which is also a 1x2 size..(choice 3 of 3 in that widget)..
so I basically get the same information with regards to time and weather..and I also end up saving 1 row, which can be filled with 4 additional apps.
Another tip: Instead of using the HTC favorites widget to peg your favorite people to call a touch away.. use the shortcut/add person to peg them on screen. The favorite widget takes a lot more space especially when you don't fill it up.
The quick start guide says 3 hours to charge, where as here.
HTC Desire - When I first receive my phone, do I need to charge the battery?
It states 8 hours. Which should I follow? Also, can I have it switched on while I charge so I can set it up? And I imagine I should let it fully discharge before charging it again, but how many times is this appropriate for? The first 2 or 3 or more times?
Coming from a Treo 700wx that I use thru Active Sync, and connect to my companies exchange server.
My Treo when locked, would only show the time, My name and a telephone number. In the case I lost it, some good samaritan could contact me when they realize the phone was useless with out the PIN.
I cannot find anything similar to this on the Incredible.... Can someone assist me?
I am coming to the conclusion that the poor battery charge time is a result of the batteries and not the phone. The reason I believe this to be true is: I purchased the charger that comes with a spare battery and it takes a good 3-4 hours to charge in that, with no phone attached. Batteries in my previous phones would take an hour to fully charge in a dedicated charger. I bet when Seidio comes out with batteries for this phone, we will see much better charge times and possibly better battery life.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi just bought Hero h9500 two days ago , and the charging time is very very slow , it could take 8 hours to charge completely if i am using the phone while charging. the battery has "3000mA" written on it

View 2 Replies View RelatedMotoDroid 2.2. Since 2.2, the auto-rotate screen goes haywire from time to time. I normally use the vertical format, easier to type, but when it switches, not much screen left, and I have to go back and back to start over again.
View 4 Replies View Relatedat the moment I am thinking about a new app and need some information to decide whether to develop on Android or an alternative OS. I am particularly interested in "time to first screen", "boot-up time", "time to first Audio" and "app-start" (can be any from the android market or even one of the pre-installed ones) time? Does anyone know a source or perhaps measured those numbers?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was messaging around today and found where to shut of the screen while charging, but I wanted to turn it back on and can't find where it is? Also before the update I could have sworn there was an option on the screen timeout to set it to never. Now I don't have that option.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore I continue: I don't use any task killers. And I've read every battery trick thread on here and on XDA, so I've done it all. The CDMA fix. Rooting and using OCWidget. Charging it to 100%, turning it off, and then cycling the charge with the phone in the off state. And of course, disabling every data hungry app plus setting screen brightness to 50%. This is my 3rd Android phone, so it's definitely not my first rodeo.
So last night I was using my Evo as it was on the charger. I was browsing the web, and checking out some new apps in the market, so the screen was on for quite a while. I took my Evo off the charger, did some heavy texting, some browsing, Facebook, Twitter, etc, etc, and about 5 hours later I was at 80%. I then put it on the charger, and went to bed.
Fast forward to this morning: Took it off the charger, sent a few texts, and I'm down to 95% within minutes. Of course this frustrated me, since last night I went an hour before it even dropped to 99%. It'll be getting some heavy use today, so the last thing I want to do is leave the house with my battery in the 80% range. I put it back on the charger, and resumed normal usage. Some texting, Facebook, Movies app, Netflix app. Eventually the charging light goes green again. Took it off the charger an hour ago, did some texting, stayed connected to WiFi,and I'm still at 100%. Whereas earlier this morning it dropped 5% in minutes under the same use.
Scratched my head for a second, and remembered that my phone was on and in use while charging last time, before I took it off and got great battery life.
So now, I've set it so my Evo's screen stays on while charging. I also use the Power Control widget to increase the screen brightness to 100% while charging. And then once it's off the charger, just drop it to 50%.
To keep the phone awake while charging:
Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Development -> And then tap the check box next to 'Stay awake'.
Not saying this is guaranteed to work, and I have no rational explanation as to how this works, but it's definitely helping me. I'm going to do some testing and report back on a few things.
Tried a search, couldn't find anything. Can we turn it off? I checked the phone settings but couldn't find anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm curious if anyone has noticed the phone and/or screen waking up during charging. It's not a full "wakeup" as if I hit the power button. But rather the 20 seconds or so that it comes on when you put the phone on or take it off the charger. I've got the battery status widget and I've noticed that it happens everytime at either 95% or 96% status. No other % and only once.I though maybe my charger had an intermittent short, but I'm off for the holiday weekend and noticed it for the third time in the last two days all while sitting perfectly still with no one near it.Just wondered if anyone else has noticed it waking up while charging for no apparent reason...
View 20 Replies View RelatedOkay, I've tried everything. nothing is running in the background evidently but the awake time and the up time are the same. After i turned my phone off, and then turned it back on, they were the same. I've tried a task killer, the system panel, and I've tried turning it back off, and on, but nothing happened. I need help?! How do i fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy batteries up time is the same as the batteries total on time, even when its off. Why is this?

Is there any way to change when these 3 things happen separately? Can I make it so my screen fades earlier but still takes just as long to go completely black? Is there a way to extend the time between total blackout and locking? Is there a way to turn off auto screen lock all together but keep the auto fade out and auto black out? I am always able to remember to manually lock the screen and the auto lock is annoying but I still like the power saving of the screen fade and black out.
