View 4 RepliesRecently I noticed cleary my screen has a burnt image of my homepage. Its only visible when the background is solid white. Seems to be getting worse though. Wondering if anyone else has this problem?
View 19 Replies View RelatedUnder settings theres a setting for screen time out..I put it to 30mins and leave the phone alone...the screen goes out in like 20 seconds...I'm pretty sure that's not 30mins...is this a software or hardware issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith my Blackberry Bold, the screen times out after 30 seconds of inactivity. This is fine unless I am using the GPS and Google Maps. I always have to hit a button when driving to get the phone to kick back on. Without setting your screen time out to never, will the screen stay on using Google Maps on the Incredible? Also, people say the screen is hard to see in the sun. Will this be a problem in the car or does the screen have enough brightness if it is shaded in the car?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I keep the screen from timing out while charging...but time out when not charging?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to set the screen to turn off, let's say, after 2 minutes, but have the phone only lock after, let's say, 10 minutes.
During the day I am in and out of my contacts constantly and I am unlocking my phone too much! I just want it to lock after a preset time, not every time the device is turned off.
My Incredible fell out of my pocket when I was getting out of my car and it cracked. The touchscreen on the Incredible still works, but the glass/LCD (or digitizer) is cracked. I don't have the insurance and since it's been a few months, I can't add it.
1) How much will Verizon charge to replace the glass/LCD (or digitizer) or provide a replacement phone?
2) What is the turn around time to get it fixed?
I have always been a little uncomfortable with the HTC widget on the home screen that took a large 2x4 block (2 rows x 4 columns) out of the home screen to display the time and weather.. especially because I wanted a few more apps to be displayed on my home screen that I regularly use..
So I removed the HTC clock widget that displayed the large 4x4 clock and weather and instead dropped the HTC clock widget that is 1x2 (5 of the 12 choices available in that widget).. and the HTC weather widget right next to it (or even below it).. which is also a 1x2 size..(choice 3 of 3 in that widget)..
so I basically get the same information with regards to time and weather..and I also end up saving 1 row, which can be filled with 4 additional apps.
Another tip: Instead of using the HTC favorites widget to peg your favorite people to call a touch away.. use the shortcut/add person to peg them on screen. The favorite widget takes a lot more space especially when you don't fill it up.
Coming from a Treo 700wx that I use thru Active Sync, and connect to my companies exchange server.
My Treo when locked, would only show the time, My name and a telephone number. In the case I lost it, some good samaritan could contact me when they realize the phone was useless with out the PIN.
I cannot find anything similar to this on the Incredible.... Can someone assist me?
MotoDroid 2.2. Since 2.2, the auto-rotate screen goes haywire from time to time. I normally use the vertical format, easier to type, but when it switches, not much screen left, and I have to go back and back to start over again.
View 4 Replies View Relatedat the moment I am thinking about a new app and need some information to decide whether to develop on Android or an alternative OS. I am particularly interested in "time to first screen", "boot-up time", "time to first Audio" and "app-start" (can be any from the android market or even one of the pre-installed ones) time? Does anyone know a source or perhaps measured those numbers?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOkay, I've tried everything. nothing is running in the background evidently but the awake time and the up time are the same. After i turned my phone off, and then turned it back on, they were the same. I've tried a task killer, the system panel, and I've tried turning it back off, and on, but nothing happened. I need help?! How do i fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy batteries up time is the same as the batteries total on time, even when its off. Why is this?

Is there any way to change when these 3 things happen separately? Can I make it so my screen fades earlier but still takes just as long to go completely black? Is there a way to extend the time between total blackout and locking? Is there a way to turn off auto screen lock all together but keep the auto fade out and auto black out? I am always able to remember to manually lock the screen and the auto lock is annoying but I still like the power saving of the screen fade and black out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did the update today, and now my screen won't time out automatically.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have had this evo for just a few days now. For the first 2 days (with the screen time out set to 30 seconds) the screen would dim at like 25 seconds... and then turn off completely. Thus locking the screen.
That seemed normal and I liked that.
Now, however, the screen dims at 25 seconds still... but it never shuts off completely. It just stays dim.
I realized this because last night I put the phone into clock mode (the same way I did the first 2 nights with no problem) except last night the screen stayed on and this morning my battery was half drained from an almost full charge.
If I press the button on the top, it does shut off completely, but I would love to have it back to the way it was before.
I've been an Incredible user since the day it came out, and on a scale of 1-10 of familiarity with the phone, i consider myself pretty close to a 10 i know the phone backwards and forwards. Here's the problem - I have an Exchange Activesync and GMAIL account set up on the phone.I tried sending a calendar invite to my GMAIL account this morning, and noticed that the time was showing up as being 1hr off. i.e - in my calendar the event showed at 8:00AM, but in the Gmail calendar entry request it showed 7:00AM.So i checked my time zone in Settings >> Date and Time. It's set to "automatic", yet the time zone is set to GMT -5:00, which is incorrect, since i'm smack-bam the middle of Texas, and am fairly sure i'm in the Central time zone, whereas -5:00 GMT is Eastern Time
View 5 Replies View Relatedis there a way to set screen timeouts to specific apps? For instance, when running navigation, can the screen time out be set to never timeout just for that app? I only want the screen to stay lite for certain apps.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy home screen restarts by itself all the time. Very annoying, when I unlock the phone and have to wait about 20-30 seconds for the icons and widgets to load. I get the white screen with the text "HTC." Then the background loads, then the icons/widgets. Until it's all loaded, I can't move or control anything.
It's happened since the beginning. I just installed "WidgetLocker" yesterday, and now it happens about every hour. I'm wondering if Sense is somehow going to sleep, and then restarting when I wake it up. Some notable applications that may be causing problem:
Locale
Quickdesk
WidgetLocker
During calls my screen times out and goes black after the set amount of seconds (can't remember what mine is set to), but i just wanna know if there is a way of keeping the screen from timing out for the duration of the call, thus making it easier to end the call without having to turn on and unlock the screen?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI set my screen to auto backlight, and to time out after 15 seconds, just to test this out.
Well when I'm not in a call, it dims and brightens accordingly. It also times out and shuts the screen off after 15 seconds like I selected.
When I am IN CALL, the screen does not dim and does not time out until about a minute or more into the call, it doesn't seem to be consistent. I've rebooted, and all that, nothing has worked.
I'm thinking of trying a factory reset but I don't really WANT to, I like the apps I have and such.
I've had a few 'time out' apps, like call caddy, power manager, etc. None of them worked the way I wanted them to (call caddy is supposed to lock the screen upon answering a call, and power manager is supposed to llow you to control timeout while in call) and I have been thinking maybe it somehow messed with my phone ability to regulate the screen time out?
As for my second question. How do I save all of my info on the phone, is there an app for that? I think sprint automatically syncs my contacts (I used to get notified but I somehow turned them off). Where/how would I re-download them? From the sprint website?
Is it possible to play two videos on the screen?
I am basically trying to get some info on record and playback simultaneously.
If i use a mediarecorder(for recording) and a mediaplayer(for playback), will their be any conflict in surface used by them?
Can two mediaplayers run videos at a time on screen?
It seems like there should be an easy fix (change a setting or something) for this, but I can't seem to find it and it's driving me nuts.
Whenever I use Google Navigation, the screen times out after a minute (just like any other time I'm using my phone). But, doesn't it seem like the screen should not shut off EVER while using Nav?
Can anyone recommend a good app to set the screen brightness to a low level between certain times?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my android app, I need to design a Welcome Screen which will be shown to the user only once after the app is installed and opened. The app in question is a database driven app and I would love to include some 3 - 4 screens to help the user create re-usable resources for use within the app and a few tips. They would be Dialog Alerts with the last welcome screen showing the "Do Not Show Again" checkbox. how to show the welcome screen just once.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI work in aviation and sometimes need to travel for it. It is important for me to know Greenwich Mean Time, (also referred to as Zulu time). Ideally I would like to have the local time and GMT displayed on my phone. Its easy to add 5 hours or whatever when I'm at home to figure it out, but it gets confusing when I travel.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI set my screen time out to 30 seconds and..it's been 30 seconds my screen is not timing out. This can be REALLY annoying when I forget to push the power button and just put the phone in my pocket and the battery drains.
I called verizon about this yesterday they had me turn my phone off and back on and then it did time out. Today I tried the same thing and it's not timing out..
The phone is brand new, only 3 days old has not been dropped or anything.
For some reason my screen timeout setting keeps resetting itself and only staying on for like 5 seconds.
