The quick start guide says 3 hours to charge, where as here.
HTC Desire - When I first receive my phone, do I need to charge the battery?
It states 8 hours. Which should I follow? Also, can I have it switched on while I charge so I can set it up? And I imagine I should let it fully discharge before charging it again, but how many times is this appropriate for? The first 2 or 3 or more times?

Under settings theres a setting for screen time out..I put it to 30mins and leave the phone alone...the screen goes out in like 20 seconds...I'm pretty sure that's not 30mins...is this a software or hardware issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched this out a bit and only found a rough answer on the old Hero forum, so wanted to make sure there isn't a more updated answer with the Incredible.I'm using the stock messaging app included with the phone. I noticed very quickly that any text messages that were sent to me while the phone was off or in airplane mode obviously wouldn't come through to the phone until I turned it back on or took it out of airplane mode. This is normal, but I realized the text messages that come through once I power on the phone show only the time I received them at, not the ACTUAL time the person sent it out to me.On all my old phones I could see when the person actually sent the messsage. Is there a way to get this information on the Incredible, or do I need to download a different text app to view this?

As I have 2 simcards (I'm abroad), I need to know what time the texts actually come through, not when I get them when I switch my phone on. This happened with my old phone but not my new xperia.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOk I've read a gazillion threads on battery life and 2.1 etc etc and you have me all waiting anxiously for an update and bigger batteries but what about actual talk time on the phone? didn't see any threads about that. Its not uncommon for my phone to be a toy all week then on the weekend catch up with some buds or family or whatever and yak on the thing for 2 hours straight. Will it hold? I know my old razer with an ext batt would go 4 hours talk time easy, glimmer would do 2.5 hrs easy with stock battery sometimes more. Pearl did well, haven't really talked the Storm out cause its my work phone and I tend to shun that thing on the weekends ....so let me know how long you've talked on it! Battery life does seem to stink but I can't put the damn thing down so I'm sure that has something to do with it and all my other smartphones sucked battery wise too the first week or so, so I'm not passing judgment yet, just want to know how long i can talk on the thing before it dies....I will do my own testing soon but would like some ideas.

I am working on a compute intensive app for Android. I do not have any device yet to test performance. However, the performance on emulator is a bit slower than expected. I see an old question about some estimation of emulator vs device. What are your experiences while developing apps with recent SDK Froyo/2.2. Is performance observed on emulator is slower than actual device. Please share your experience and the specs of your dev machine and mobile devices, both.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had the original droid and now a droid X. Normally when charging either of them it takes like 2+ hours to fully charge from a low charge. Tonight I was at a friends house and I took out this new cord I bought at walmart that came with a universal usb car charger. My droid was on 20% and within 20-30 minutes it charged to full! I'm almost positive the computer was charging it via usb 2.0. Now I have usb 2.0 on my home computers but it always takes 2-3 hours to charge. I went home and went from a 70% charge to 100% in minutes via this "new" cord and not using the cord that came with the droid. Is it possible the cord with the droid only will charge at a certain rate and this new cord is charging much much faster or enabling usb 2.0 instead of 1.0 or 1.1? It would be great to not have to charge my droid all night long all the time. Also is there a way to know if your droid is charging via usb 1.0, 1.1, or 2.0 or even usb 3.0? Does this make a difference with charging times?

Now what should I copy from my Project directory and where should I put it? And is there any other process I need to run to "install" my app?
So I got tired waiting for my ota, and did the manual install without root,the one on androicentral. I don't know about battery life much but after the update, life was worse, I did the factory reset and still no improvement. And now it takes longer to charge for some reason. Any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am coming to the conclusion that the poor battery charge time is a result of the batteries and not the phone. The reason I believe this to be true is: I purchased the charger that comes with a spare battery and it takes a good 3-4 hours to charge in that, with no phone attached. Batteries in my previous phones would take an hour to fully charge in a dedicated charger. I bet when Seidio comes out with batteries for this phone, we will see much better charge times and possibly better battery life.

When I plug it in the green charge light comes on then the phone boots up and shows its charging, but if you shut the phone off while its plugged in, it wont charge. The green light stays lit but no charge in the morning. So if you boot it up, it will charge when turned on. With my DINC it was best to charge the phone when it was turned off. This is all pluged in and charging from my computer. I am getting about 12 hours on a full charge, thats about 4 more hours than I was getting from my DINC.

I recently lost my wall charger so I have just been charging it with the data cable and the computer. Today I was gone most of the day and my battery was at 15% when I got home. I plugged it into the computer for about an hour and when I came back it still had the same amount of battery life when I unplugged it to check. I have setcpu and it was doing the failsafe warning (over 120 degrees) a little more than usual today. It got up to about 145 degrees for a minute at one point when I was using the wireless tether with my laptop. It had the failsafe warning when I checked it while charging just a little bit ago. I don't know if the battery is failing or if its a problem with the phone?

I'm thinking an auto-reboot app, set up to reboot the DINC once a week, or even nightly, might be a smart thing to install.

Have been having issues with MyTouch 4G freezing. According to community area, minimum amount of available internal device space for Android device is 25 MB. This amount was first determined by Android to be for the G1 which only had 126 MB of internal device available space. My question is, with Android phones having more available space ie: MyTouch 4g 4GB ROM and 512 MB RAM, should the available internal phone storage be higher than 25MB in order to run properly? It would seem to me that if the phone had more available internal phone storage, the available space needs to be proportionally greater to run properly.
