My phone isn't working right. It will randomly restart and get stuck on the white HTC screen. It'll only boot back up after a battery pull. I'm going to reset it to default but I want to know how I can back up all my stuff. I could care less about my applications but I don't want to lose contacts or SMS/MMS records, etc.

Few little problems here and there (Music Genre, Battery life etc) but the one main thing that is really bugging me is, that if I lose reception (I live in a area with lots of valleys), it will never regain reception even if I enter a town centre or City. I always have to either switch Airplane mode on then off. Or more often than not, turn the phone off completely and switch it back on, where it then finds reception straight away.

Right now there is little that I look forward to with rooting. Obviously the icing on the rooting cake would be in hopes to get a froyo rom sooner rather than later. But one question and concern I have with that is when a froyo rom comes it will remove sense? Meaning stuff like face book contacts syncing will no longer work? Did I get that right?

View 9 Replies View RelatedOk, I am rooted and have the wireless tethering app installed. @ 1st it worked pretty good, but here recently it will work for a few minutes then cause my internet to go out for like 30 min or so...but when I tether with pdanet it works for hours with no problem ever. what am I doing wrong when I wirelessly tether to make it stop working, when it stops working, my mac is still connected to the wifi but won't transmit anything.

Even though its the correct password, the only fix is a hard reset. Is that bug still around on the incredible or has google fixed it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I switched to the Samsung Fascinate from a previous non-smart phone, I transferred all of my contacts from the phone over. I think in the setup somewhere I chose to convert my contacts to Google contacts. That was really confusing at first, because I didn't know what it did, and didn't even remember I had done that until recently. I'd like to get the contacts back to phone contacts (not Google contacts) for multiple reasons, which I won't bother listing for now. So, does anyone know how to UN-convert or re-convert Google contacts back into phone contacts? I really don't want to have to recreate all of the phone contacts, because I've got a LOT of them. I would remove my Google account from the phone, but I worry that would remove all of my contacts completely, which wouldn't help me.

You can swipe it back up, or simply hit the back button.
Alright so I've learned a decent amount in the past few days (I'm new to rooting), and I'm pretty sure I want to experiment with a rom. Now the only thing I don't understand is how to back up apps. I've already made a nandroid back up of my current phone state, and I know how to back up contacts, but I cannot figure out how to back up apps. I've heard of something called google cloud, but I have no idea what it is, nor can I find anything on it.

The only thing that happened was Gmail sent all of the email addresses I've ever sent an email to to my phone. That is something i dislike. I have tried backing up my contacts using Lookout too. Nothing there either. If Google is supposed to automatically sync with the contacts, why aren't any of them there?

I've had my Magic for about 3 months now and I do like it a lot, but I want to back up my list of telephone contacts to the sim card so that in the event of a change of handset in the future, my contacts are safe and can be restored to another phone.I can import from the Sim card ok, but how do I do this in reverse? View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter reading through the threads I see that a few people have lost their contacts when the phone has rebooted or upgraded etc. So I would like to back them up. When I look in people-menu-view it shows that all my contacts are saved to my phone. They where saved to my Sim when I put it in so it must have done this by itself. What is the best way to back them up? In the import/export option I can export to SD card but I am a bit worried about pressing that encase its the wrong thing and I loose it all.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSorry about the new post but I have been searching all day and haven't found one that's what I need. I had to get a replacement for my eris due to trackball issues. I got my replacement today and can't seem to get my contacts onto the new phone. The one thing that I have been able to find out is that I should have saved all of my contacts as Google contacts. I tried using Lookout and was able to transfer my pictures, but only 5 contacts (the only google contacts I have). I also tried MyBackUp but it is asking me for a pin number it never gave me. I downloaded vCardIO and exported my contacts to the sd card, but now when I put the sd card into the new phone it says that there is NOTHING on it, none of my documents- nothing. Is there any way I can change all my contacts to Google contacts? I don't know what else to do, so any help would be appreciated.
