Right now there is little that I look forward to with rooting. Obviously the icing on the rooting cake would be in hopes to get a froyo rom sooner rather than later. But one question and concern I have with that is when a froyo rom comes it will remove sense? Meaning stuff like face book contacts syncing will no longer work? Did I get that right?

I am one of those crazy types with 2000+ Facebook friends for games and such. When I get my DInc. (hopefully this week or early next week.) and do the contact merger thing, Do I have to merge in all of my Facebook friends? Or can I just pick a filter like Family and Close Friends only? This would bring the total merged contacts down to a much more manageable 100+ or so. Really do not want 2000 people on my phone, that would be a mess! If there is no option other than all or none, I may have to start a new facebook account just to limit the chaos.

I turned off the face book notifications because they were annoying. But when I did that, the pictures and statuses never refresh. I just want them to refresh, but I don't want the notifications to be sent to me all day.

To reproduce this you can add the small one to a screen, then delete it, then try to add the face book widget again and it won't ask you which style this time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe back of mine doesn't seem to go on as snugly as it used to. I've swapped the battery a few times since getting mine on launch day. Probably 10 or so times. If i press lightly with my thumb on the center of the bottom part of the back, it makes a squeaky noise and definitely gives. I'm used to backs that are made to come off the phone a bit more easily (blackberry's, moto droid), so I've always found the plastic tabs on the inc kind of suboptimal. I guess that's one of the sacrifices you make for a super slim and light phone. I ordered a new back cover from ebay, hopefully that will give me back that tight-as-a-drum new phone feel.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is for people who use GPS a lot. Before I would create groups just for my texting, but Navigation works great too. Took a wine trip to Santa Barbara. Had a few places (hotel, boat cruise, wineries, Santa Barbara Mission, some restaurants, that taco stand Julia Child made famous, etc.), and just created a contact for each. No inputting on phone or using voice, it's already done.Had concert @ Hollywood Bowl. They have shuttle service at some offsite locations like the LA Zoo or in Studio City. I just create a group called Concerts, and copy and paste address from website.Meeting friend at bar never been to? Already have a Group called Bars. Just copy and paste address, and your done.I have groups for everything. Family, San Francisco, San Diego friends, Hotels, Bars, sporting venues, whatever. I cross link whenever I can, Just hit People and slide over to Groups. The whole goal for me is just to hit buttons, and not have to input anything when I'm on run. Use it like AppBrain. So much easier to manage everything from Google contacts page. Just copy and paste eveything.Best part is, can delete or add anytime.Also saves me battery since doing stuff on computer, and everything is synced automatically.

When I make a change in my Google "My Contacts" folder or on the phone it fails to update the other. It is set to actively sync in my settings and I have manually synced to no avail.

Mail works fine, as does my calendar, but the contacts that were there this morning are still there, but the last sync is about 12 hours old. Tried a manual sync and it doesn't sync...just sits there. Using Google Apps Premier and the Gmail contacts sync fine with my Apple Address book, but just not my phone. I was going to delete the Google account and add it again, but when I try that I get a tutorial that the only way I can do that is to reset the phone to factory defaults. I don't want to reinstall all the apps I have on this phone...surely there is something else going on. Any ideas?

I opened a new gmail account for her, then activated her phone on my number. I tried to sync her Eris with google, with the idea that she could sync with her Incredible.
