If i have a nandroid backup on my sd card, and i get a replacement, can i just restore when I re-root and have my themes, contacts, etc. back?

My phone took a tumble down the stairs and screen cracked in a lot of places, but still usable.Should i backup all my apps using astro ? Also, all my contacts are phone contacts, not gmail contacts, will HTC sync application help me backup my contacts and restore them? I haven't replaced an HTC phone yet so please forgive my innocence. I'm a converted BB user and now never going back to anything but Droid. Also, will i be receiving LCD screen instead AMOLED screen? Is that the rumor ?I do have insurance, i'm sure it will cost me more than 50 bucks to replace it. Prob 100$ right?

Phone was never dropped and always kept in the bodyglove case! Have no idea how I got there and verizon wants me to file a claim and won't warranty it !It appears to be a stress crack from where the hole is in the glass to allow the optical button to be Installed.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was going to get my son from the bus stop and dropped my phone about 2 ft on to the driveway. The Screen is completely shattered. The phone still works but I'm kinda screwed at the moment. I got Wirelesszone insurance and left asurion cause they told me it was cheaper, covers water dmg etc.. They didn't tell me is there is 30 day waiting period and i got the phone may 5th. I been looking online to see if i can find a new glasstop and replace it myself but i only found 1 on ebay for $125 and takes 2 weeks to arrive from China. I can wait until my 30 day waiting period and make a claim and pay $75 deductible, but I really don't want to have a shattered screen for 2 more weeks.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tripped walking down the street with my friends today beyond skinning and cutting up my arms and knee's and getting road rash the fall also took a nasty toll on my incredible. It cracked throughout the screen and it is slowly turning a greenish tint color around the cracks and throughout the screen. It is becoming completely unusable. I got my original droid incredible back in may and I just received a like new replacement a week ago. I do NOT have insurance. What are my options here? I have also invested over $170 into this phone through cases, extended battery and micro SD card.

View 22 Replies View RelatedSo my screen is freakin wrecked. I dropped it from about 2 feet into a pile of leaves. I picked it up and dusted it off and didn't see any problems. I took it in side and set it on the table and came back in 10 minutes and had a crack running about 2.5" diagonally across the screen and a little one in the corner. After about an hour another one showed up running horizontally across the screen.
I find it hard to believe that the fall it took would cause the glass to shatter like it did. I think it might have been the temp difference of bringing it inside.....>90 to ~68. Should I contact VZW or HTC first? Any recommendations on 3rd party repairs?
I dropped my Incredible the other day and the screen cracked and is now completely black. Luckily Verizon will replace it for me under insurance (after paying my deductible). However before I send back the old phone I want to get my old pictures and texts off it. Is that possible?
The phone itself is working (lower soft keys light up, I can feel haptic feedback, etc). NOTHING appears on the screen however. When I plug my USB cable in, I get a sound on my PC indicating a USB device is plugged in, but since I can't see the phone screen, I can't mount the device via the notifications menu.
My Incredible fell out of my pocket when I was getting out of my car and it cracked. The touchscreen on the Incredible still works, but the glass/LCD (or digitizer) is cracked. I don't have the insurance and since it's been a few months, I can't add it.
1) How much will Verizon charge to replace the glass/LCD (or digitizer) or provide a replacement phone?
2) What is the turn around time to get it fixed?
I'm so angry it's hard for me to even type. I upgraded my X10 mini pro to Android 2.1 today and I followed the instructions and the YouTube video EXACTLY step by step.I made a back-up before the update, with the updated Back-up & restore app.Now the Android update is done and i've tried and tried but I can't get my contacts back. Every time I run the restore function of Back-up & restore it tells me the restore is done, but when I go to my contacts list, it's empty.

It would just reboot me back into bootloader. I tried updating my superboot and recovery image to 1.7 and it's just stuck at the loading screen now. Is there anyway to restore it?

In my haste to explore I started deleting some of the Verizon bloatware such as Friendstream, Facebook, Footprint, City ID as well as a couple of others before stopping when I remembered that I should have immediatly run a nandroid and titanium backup after root.
My question, can I still use this nandroid and or titanium backup I made, minus the 4 or 5 misc items I deleted before backup, to restore my Dinc to stock if need be for either the next OTA update or if I run into problems playing w/ various ROM's?
Brand new droid and incredible owner switching from a blackberry. I was playing around today with my new phone and I accidentally deleted the "favorites" widget. How do I restore the "favorite" widget to my homescreen? I want it to take up the whole screen not just the small shortcut.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone else had abny issues with the back up restore function? I tried to do a software update, to which something seems to have happened. All i can see for the time being is an update to the virtual keyboard. Anyway, lost apps, contacts etc, so went into the menu on the handset and selected back up, restore. Restored numbers etc to phone book and over 150 number details are missing. The back up utility doesn't seem to have backed up all my numbers. Also, any personal photo's of callers etc have either vanished or the photo's are now against the wrong people. So much for this back up service, it's going to take hours, if not days to try to get the phone back tot he way it was!

And I've been looking around and I'm an idiot and all my contacts were on my phone not google, so does that mean they are lost forever unless I restore with nandroid?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen i click on batch, then run to backup my apps it jumps back to the Backup/Restore screen with all the apps, nothing gets backed up. I have backed up before with Titanium and it worked. I reinstalled Busybox, didn't help. If i uninstall and reinstall will i lose all the things i did like freeze apps etc ? When i try to update through the marketplace it says installation error, package file was not signed correctly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

Well the glass screen shattered and I was curious if there is anywhere I can get a replacement for it yet? Incase anyone is curious about the drop it occured from less than 2 feet off the ground. I was in a booth when she handed me the phone and she let go of it before my hand was near. The top left corner was where the impact first hit, and is where the majority of the screen is cracked.

Iv had my white HTC evo from the day it came out and i babied it like my son. i never let it drop or hit anything. just now at work i dropped it on the floor and the screen cracked like a huge spider web on the entire screen

Want to do a Hard Reset my rooted HTC Incredible, but I just realized looking through my apps that Superuser is an app. so after hard reset how do i get that app back. If I use a Titanium backup it should be in there right? I don't see it in my Titanium backup.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy wifes screen cracked on her Eris. And get this......it was from wiping it off on her shirt. She simply wiped it on the front of her shirt and now there are like 4 long cracks from the bottom right up to the top left. You can see some liquid seeping out also. She didn't wipe it hard, either. I'm wondering if the Eris kind of "twisted" while wiping and that caused it to crack. Now if you twist it a bit it creaks.
The cracks seem to be on the interior of the screen, and you can't feel them on the face of the screen.
Is the Eris that delicate that the screen can crack wiping it on your shirt? Very dissapointing. I suppose I'll have to end up dishing out $89 for a crappy refurbished one from Assurion. I'll take pics when I can.
So I cracked my screen and just need to know how to go back to the stock rom and unroot so if Verizon agreed to replace the phone they won't know I tried to mess with it root-wise. If anyone has done this before please post your experiences. My friend cracked his screen twice and had a rooted phone and had it replaced twice, so I know it can be done.
View 6 Replies View RelatedLast night i noticed a thin crack on my screen about an inch long. You cant feel the scratch on the outside. This morning the screen had gone really dull an cloudy and is basically fudged, you can hardly make anything out. I hav'nt dropped it so can only think there must have been some sort of pressure on it.
My question is what are my options?
I am about 5 months into my contract with vodafone and dont have insurance with them.
Would this be covered by the warranty?
My other option is obviously to pay for a repair if thats possible?
Or maybe claim it on my house insurance.
