When I pull up the phone on my Incredible, it lists every contact in the world, including everyone from Facebook. I went into my sync settings and unsynced Facebook contacts, but they're still showing up in my phonebook.

Is there an easier way to move certain facebook contacts to my main address book? right now I've been creating new contacts in my address book and then syncing it to their facebook account. Am I missing something?

Just wondering if there is an app or a procedure to get your facebook contacts to automatically sync with your phones contacts as well as your google contacts. For instance if you add someone as a friend on facebook and they have their email and phone number filled out in their profile, that information would automatically be added to your phone. Is there a way to do that?

I dont know why it had to come to that, it should do it automatically.I have even done battery pulls which should theoretically log me out, oh well, it works now.I have done some searching around and there was a problem with Facebook a couple weeks back, but I dont think this has anything to do with that. I added a new friend on Facebook on the 25th of July, I also added them manually into my People on my Inc. For whatever reason when I go to the Link part of the contact and go to the Facebook Link, it says to pick from my friends. He does not show up in my friends if I am browsing through the link area. I can go to facebook from the phone and from the computer and he is there. It is making me insane.Also the profile pics are not updating, and havent for many months. My wife's picture has not changed on my phone's end in 4 months, but on the actual Facebook site it has.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am one of those crazy types with 2000+ Facebook friends for games and such. When I get my DInc. (hopefully this week or early next week.) and do the contact merger thing, Do I have to merge in all of my Facebook friends? Or can I just pick a filter like Family and Close Friends only? This would bring the total merged contacts down to a much more manageable 100+ or so. Really do not want 2000 people on my phone, that would be a mess! If there is no option other than all or none, I may have to start a new facebook account just to limit the chaos.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter the update to Android 2.1 on my HTC Hero, like many other people, I had problems syncing my phone contacts to my facebook contacts. The process com.htc.bgp constantly force closed, and no linking could be made or is some cases only a part of the facebook contacts were synced. Different fixes has been suggested by users online but none of them worked. But after a lot of trying, a combination of these fixes finally solved the problem for me. Now all my facebook contacts are available to link to my phone contacts. Here's what I did and what you can try:
1. On your computer, go to Facebook Account Application settings. Remove applications Facebook for Android and HTC Sense. Log out of Facebook.
2. On your phone, remove any all Facebook programs or widgets you might have installed.
3. Go to Settings Accounts and delete your Facebook for HTC Sense account. The settings Background data should be checked and Auto-sync unchecked.
4. Go to Settings Applications Manage applications. Enter each of the following applications and click Clear data:
a. Calender
b. Calender Storage
c. com.htc.socialnetwork.accountmanager
d. com.htc.socialnetwork.provider
e. Facebook for HTC Snese
f. Gmail
g. Gmail Storage
h. My Uploads
i. PC Synchronization
5. Restart your phone.
6. Connect to the internet.
7. Start the Photos program
8. At the bottom there should be a facebook icon. Click it and log in to your facebook account.
9. Let all the contacts download.
10. Go to your contacts (People), and now your old Facebook connections should slowly start to appear, and you should be able to link the contacts to your facebook contacts. It might take a while but have patience!
Perhaps one or a few of these steps are not necessary, but at least its what worked for me and hopefully it will help some of you.
Haxsync is a appl which allows on cm9 but the problem is its a paid app and another problem is it drains my battery a lot.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo in early May, I got the Android update thing for my Droid Eris. I started it, and it took forever. Ever since then, I can't link my Facebook account to my phone. I've seen a lot of similar situations but nothing exactly the same. I can't link any of my phone contacts to my Facebook contacts. I have the Facebook for HTC Sense and the Facebook app. I can log on and view my Facebook accout, etc but when I go to People my contacts don't have pictures. I've tried to go to menu > settings > account & sync and remove my Facebook for HTC Sense account and manually sync or whatever. Still didn't work. A "force close" message appears every time I try to sync, yet my Google accounts will sync. I've tried going to each contact and manually link them to their Facebook profile but nothing even loads, as in it will say I have no friends to choose from (whomp whomp). I finally gave in and installed that Sync My Pix app but I'm not satisfied. Mainly, because that app saves all the contacts pictures in my photo albums and it doesn't do their status updates, etc. Really, I just don't want an app to make my phone do something it's already suppose to do.

A Digest parses these JSONObject and then fills its local Databases with the new datas. The Server can also send to the mobile application a list of new contacts to add in the system PhoneBook. Here's my question: how can I make a new contact from a bunch of datas and insert it in the system PhoneBook in Android 2.1, without any interaction with the user? Moreover, how can I get these datas back when I need it? I have tried to do it like the ContactAdder in the ContactManager sample(http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/ContactManager/ index.html) does, but it works only if I specify an account for the sync function, and I don't need this feature in my application, so I don't have any account to select! Is there a way to do the same things the ContactAdder does without specifying an account (something like creating "Phone-only (unsynced) contacts")?

I have the Google Sync selected within the Data Synchornisation settings but I have auto synchronisation turned off.
Do I need to change my sync settings or is there a problem?
I am looking for an app to sync my D2 contacts to my Microsoft Outlook 2007 address book. Free is preferred but am will to pay for it as long as its not too costly. I was able to do this easily with my Blackberry and now I am part of the Droid nation and need to be able to do it with my D2.

Every time I add a new contact it goes under "phone". I'd like it to go under "Google" where it would sync and be done with, but I also would like the current 6 I have under "Phone" to go to "Google".

I have a friend that texted me and his name, number, and facebook picture came up as expected. Later on when I went to call him, turns out he isn't in my "People" application. However, if I click the search button within the "People" app and look for his name he comes right up. If I open his contact info up, I can't add him to my contacts or anything like that. Do "Facebook Only" contact not show in the People app?

I like that I can get their pics, email, other phone numbers, etc. What I don't like is that my phonebook has 100 contacts from Facebook that I will never ever call. Has anybody found a way to remove Facebook contacts that HTC Sense Facebook adds to the overall phone book once you sign into this app? (The list that appears when you press Phone and not the People app.)
It's quite annoying having to trawl through lots of unnecessary non-Google Contacts entries to find the legitimate ones I want in my phone book.
My All People list has never had the Facebook View ticked and correctly displays just my Google Contacts, which is the only View ticked, but when you click on Phone the phone list displays all my Google Contacts and all my Facebook friends who display a phone number. I haven't found any way to remove these Facebook contacts from the Phone list, not even unchecking the Contacts Sync option for HTC Facebook works. The Phone list needs the same View option that the People app has got.

How does HTC Sense Facebook make associations with Google Contacts?
I've got three contacts where the phone has auto linked Facebook to Google, one doesn't have any details that match, Facebook name is different and they don't share their e-mail address on Facebook, and now has code in the notes section of their Google Contact entry to make the link, the other two names match their Facebook names exactly and don't have any code in their Google Contacts note section.
