I have to do a small android application. It should connect with facebook and have to post feeds into wall and retrieve feeds to display in timeline format. I am new to android and fb. Could any one help?

To reproduce this you can add the small one to a screen, then delete it, then try to add the face book widget again and it won't ask you which style this time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am one of those crazy types with 2000+ Facebook friends for games and such. When I get my DInc. (hopefully this week or early next week.) and do the contact merger thing, Do I have to merge in all of my Facebook friends? Or can I just pick a filter like Family and Close Friends only? This would bring the total merged contacts down to a much more manageable 100+ or so. Really do not want 2000 people on my phone, that would be a mess! If there is no option other than all or none, I may have to start a new facebook account just to limit the chaos.

But one question and concern I have with that is when a froyo rom comes it will remove sense? Meaning stuff like face book contacts syncing will no longer work? Did I get that right?

It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. In the first example I have the text positioned as I would like by using one image view and one text view containing the book name and the author name. However, I want to style the author text differently so I think I will need two text views. In the second example I have added another text view but it floats to the right. Second eg is Clipboard02.png. How can I make the second text view go under the first text (as in eg 1). I have done this in code rather than using XML layout.

If a data row of my list contains a TextView and a Button, is it possible to format those components individually when the List row is selected? Like change drawable of a Button, font color of the TextView apart from the usual highlighting the background of the List row?

I like to add addresses to my phone book in Android. As a lot of my contacts live in buildings i also like to add the floor and apartment number to the address: Looking like that:
Street and Number, Floor and Department number
Town, zip code
State
Country
Example;
Av. Whatever 12345, Floor 5-A
Buenos Aires 1007
Argentina
When clicking on the address the GPS of my wish opens , finds the country, city but not the street because of the additional Floor and department information. Without this additional information everything well with Google Maps or Sygic.
So, how should i add this additional Floor and department information to my address without the GPS has problems to find the main location.Also from ICS on there is only one filed to add the whole address not as with Gingerbread where you had a field for street, city, etc.

When the address book was transfered over to my Hero, i received 3 to 4 different fields per person! How can i fix tihs without having to manually go in and delete 3 of the 4 fields and enter email, cell numbers to one of the contact?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty new to Android development and would appreciate some help. All I want is to display a ListView showing a Twitter timeline. I do this in an iPhone app using MGTwitter but I've been trying and am not sure how to get the same effect on Android. I can use a list view, but I'm not sure how to get the updates.
In a nutshell all it has to do is display the updates at www.twitter.com/user (User will be hardcoded).
Seeing as how I've never been through the whole root process for a phone before, (and understanding that unforeseen circumstances can change things), what is the ballpark expected length of time from when root is achieved to when custom ROM's begin being available? Would they attempt Froyo immediately? I'm assuming they wouldn't bother with Eclair since Froyo is available.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using the SAX parser to read some RSS feeds and have found a problem. Some feeds, for example CNN Money Top Stories, have embedded some characters in their content, i.e. the copyright symbol. Well, that's not valid XML and the SAX Parser fails with an exception "invalid token". The only help I have seen given is to fix the XML at the source and that's not an option obviously. So, I can think of 2 options and they both stink:
(a) read the content first, scrub it, and then pass it to the parser.
(b) Use DOM instead of SAX.
What I *want* to do is make the parser a little more forgiving and just accept or discard/ignore the bad text. I'm not have any luck with setErrorHandler. My error handler does not get called.
I would like to know how hard would it be to to build RSS feeds app but only specific ones. For example politics: Pull rss feeds news from politico.com, cnn.com, fox.com etc..... and than display on G1... I would love some info on that and if someone can build such thing. ...am interested.
