I just received the OTA Android 2.2 upgrade. It's mentioned on the web that one of the improvements is the ability to sort contacts by first or last name. But I cannot seem to find this option as described here

Has anyone used HBOGo on the Incredible since the froyo and flash update? Everytime I go to the website I can't do anything. It would be nice to watch movies and hbo films on my phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if this has already discussed, but I couldn't find the thread with the same issue, so I am posting this. This may be a bug, or may be a feature that is incomplete. I am using the Droid Incredible with OTA'ed froyo 2.2, with factory resetted. My wife's Droid Incredible with OTA'ed froyo 2.2 without resetted has exactly the same issue. This seems to happen from fundamental android OS layer directly, as it appears on both launchpro and Sense UI.
I don't remember if the phone showed the same option with OS 2.1, but after update, I noticed the strange second option has been appeared with some of my contacts. I tried to un-link those contacts (i.e. phone contacts, google contacts or twitter contacts, etc) to figure out which part is making this problem with no success. Does anybody have the same issue? When I click the problematic option icon, the pop-up window comes offering me a choice of action with different applications.
Since I was rooted I was a little scared to do OTA update. I had heard that it was possible to brick my phone if I accepted it. So I did the simple unroot method and upon reboot I expected to be able to update to Froyo...
Not the case...I have yet to get the notification again after about 1.5 hrs. I was so happy too this morning when I saw it. Worst part?? I forgot to backup my contacts...
I bought my HTC Magic yesterday, I already love it (difficult learning to type msm though), but it annoyes my that I can't seem to figure out how to sort my contacts by first name. As it is now they are by last name, and that does not work for me. Can anybody tell me a way to do it, so that I don't have to change each contact manually?

View 2 Replies View RelatedVery odd, but on Saturday, my phone game me the "almost out of space" icon on the top of the screen. I checked which apps were hogging the most space, and Contacts Storage was number one at 27 megabytes, twice the amount that it typically sits at.
So I turned of all of my syncs, deleted my contacts, and went back into my syncs to enable them all again, but then I noticed that Facebook was listed twice. I'm assuming this was because of the new Facebook update.
Did this happen to anyone else? Any theories?
Is there any way to sort the HTC People Widget other than alphabetically? Or, is there a way to place a person shortcut on the home screen with a larger thumbnail (like the size of the ones in the People widget)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOriginally I kind of dug the red accents on the phone. But the more I've played around with it (different themes, etc.), I've kind of gotten over the red ear piece and camera lens cover. I've been kicking around the idea of dying/changing the color of the ear piece black for starters. Not sure what I would do with the lens cover, maybe just wet sand and polish although I understand it fairly delicate and thin.
My HTC letters have already been removed since the H removed itself, so I decided to finish the job. So maybe I am just looking for a more stealthy look. Anyone else or am I just insane?
I dragged and dropped music from iTunes right onto a "My Music" folder on my SD card while my INC was connected to my Mac using the USB wire. Today, I found out how to copy and paste wirelessly and did so, but the Music Library Applications are not updating. I checked the My Music folder on my SD card and the music is in fact, there but not showing up in any of the music library's.

I tap the sun/moon to get into the weather gadget, tap settings, on the top is a box to allow auto update. When its checked I get a warning of data use, allow, then back out to home. When I go back to weather settings, the box isn't checked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt appears the alphabetical sort setting is not retained on reboot of the Incredible. It reverts to "newest" link sort option, and I have to reselect A-Z. That being said, I've added a "*" (or "_", etc.) at the beginning of the name of each of my most-used 5 or 6 bookmarks, and it positions them, conveniently, at the top of the alphabetized list.

Is this because it's integrated into Maps and only has the app drawer shortcut for ease of access (like Places, Nav, etc.)? Any way to remove this "feature" or to at least remove the shortcut from the app launcher? View 1 Replies View RelatedThere were some valid complaints in 1.5 that you could only see your contacts sorted by first name. The only way around this was to re-enter all the info - backwards. (Smith John instead of John Smith)
I just noticed in 2.1 that in contact "Edit" mode if you tap the name field, there is a drop-down to select the "display name" (either firstname lastname or lastname firstname).
And still have the device and other apps like Act1 read them? I just put a bunch of videos into a folder I created titled "Videos" and now Act1 can't find em and the default picture viewer seems to create doubles. How do you guys organize them? Ok I just restarted my device and it looks like apps are starting to read things right again, so that's good. It's ok if I keep everything in a created folder right?

The default is that new pictures are all the way at the bottom, and since I have over a hundred pictures its annoying to scroll all the way to the bottom. I don't see any option to sort the pictures in any other way.
