It appears the alphabetical sort setting is not retained on reboot of the Incredible. It reverts to "newest" link sort option, and I have to reselect A-Z. That being said, I've added a "*" (or "_", etc.) at the beginning of the name of each of my most-used 5 or 6 bookmarks, and it positions them, conveniently, at the top of the alphabetized list.

Looks like in the stock browser, the bookmark sort setting is not being saved. I have mine set to sort Most used. However, if I reboot or kill the browser via a task manager, then go back to bookmarks, it is set as sort by Newest. Can anyone confirm they are getting this as well?

When i implement this functionality on a static list view => it is working fine. But when i try this on a dynamic listview=> it is not working.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWotcher all, I've had my HTC "Hero" (daft name) for about a week now and since the first few days after I'd installed a few apps, when I long-press the Home screen button, the list of last-run apps appears as expected, however the TouchFlo app (or the Home app if I'm experimenting with stock android) also appear in this list. The next time I use the Home button it gives me the choice of using Home or TouchFlo and setting one of them as the default. I hit the "use as default" button and hit TouchFlo and all is well again. However as soon as I use a long-press of the Home button again, the phone forgets the default setting and reverts to asking me which one of Home or TouchFlo I want to use as the default action for Home button presses.Does anyone know a fix for this? I've gone into App Manager and unset all the defaults, but that's had no effect. I am living with it by just not using the long-press of the Home key, as long as I avoid that the phone remembers to use TouchFlow as the default action for Home presses. I've also tried switching to using the stock Android Home app instead of HTC's but still get the phone forgetting the default when I use the long-press of Home.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have an unlockable mode in my game that is only available once the story mode has been completed. This works perfectly if the story mode is completed during a test play through, because upon returning to the main menu the bonus mode is unlocked and selectable. However when I shut down the app and relaunch it, none of the previous state information is retained and it requires you to beat the story mode again to access the bonus mode.
I use the onSaveInstanceState method to create a bundle that stores this information (ie. a boolean whether the mode is unlocked or not), but this information seems to be lost between ending the app, and relaunching it. The onCreate method takes the parameter of a savedInstanceState but yet this seems to be null.
Is there a step that I'm missing out, or doing incorrectly somewhere along the line? On a PC game I would just serialize the state into a text file and look for a special string/symbol upon initialization but I cant do that here so i thought the outState bundle you create in SIS was how you retained information for use upon next launching the app again?
I just received the OTA Android 2.2 upgrade. It's mentioned on the web that one of the improvements is the ability to sort contacts by first or last name. But I cannot seem to find this option as described here

But the more I've played around with it (different themes, etc.), I've kind of gotten over the red ear piece and camera lens cover. I've been kicking around the idea of dying/changing the color of the ear piece black for starters. Not sure what I would do with the lens cover, maybe just wet sand and polish although I understand it fairly delicate and thin.
My HTC letters have already been removed since the H removed itself, so I decided to finish the job. So maybe I am just looking for a more stealthy look. Anyone else or am I just insane?
I dragged and dropped music from iTunes right onto a "My Music" folder on my SD card while my INC was connected to my Mac using the USB wire. Today, I found out how to copy and paste wirelessly and did so, but the Music Library Applications are not updating. I checked the My Music folder on my SD card and the music is in fact, there but not showing up in any of the music library's.

I tap the sun/moon to get into the weather gadget, tap settings, on the top is a box to allow auto update. When its checked I get a warning of data use, allow, then back out to home. When I go back to weather settings, the box isn't checked.

Is this because it's integrated into Maps and only has the app drawer shortcut for ease of access (like Places, Nav, etc.)? View 8 Replies View RelatedThis afternoon, while scanning the forums. I had my Incredible charging off the AC adapter. and in airplane mode for shits and giggles. After doing some research on the ATK killers. I decided to uninstall mine and just allow the phone to manage itself. After the phone was finished with the uninstall I gave it a quick reboot just to allow the core apps to come back up. and upon doing so, I found myself in an endless reboot cycle. I would get the HTC " quietly brilliant " screen, followed by two verizon wireless screens and then loop back to the HTC screen. I let it loop about 10 times before pulling the battey to stop it.
It's rather odd. After pulling the battery and disconnecting it from the charger, I let it sit for a few minutes, replaced the battery and attempted the restart again. Once again I found myself in the same loop. After 5-6 loops i was finally brought to the OS and everything loaded as normal. Anyone have opinions on what may have caused this?
1. Uninstall of ATK
2. Rebooting while on charge
3. Airplane mode + charge + reset=boom
4. Because I touch myself at night
I got the upgrade to Froyo yesterday AM.Twice during the day it unlocked and I had a msg "Loading" while my icons loaded. Then this morning it did the same thing, but it didn't have the name of the program under the icon, plus my buttons for "Phone" weren't there.So I pulled the battery and it was back to normal.I've never really had these issues prior to the upgrade, but if rebooting is a part of the process then I'm curious if there is a way to reboot without having to pull off the case, separate the back door and pull the battery out. Anyone know?

lately what the november ota update came out I haven't been able to update. I accept the prompt and it says the update will be installed after the required reboot...after the counter counts down the phone doesn't reboot. I tried to clear the storage, I did a factory reset, then I even did the how to downgrade to factory 2.2 (http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/99828-video-howto-unroot-incredible-downgrading.html)...when I was prompted to update again the end result was the same....
I just clicked flash clockworkmod recovery again and it decided to work this time.
