I am very new to this android stuff. I used to have the iphone, but decided to switch over. Now, I have a very newbie question.How do you sort the contacts to "Last Name" first rather than "First Name" first?

1: My Behold 2 came with a 2gb memory card. Will this have any affect on how fast my phone is?
2: Is there anyway to get some other sort of text messaging app?
3: How can I make this phone perform at its fastest?
4: What other things like Galaxy 1.6 are there?
I know I sound dumb but I'm new to all this phone stuff.
The behold is my very first smart phone! I am adapting well and love most everything about it EXCEPT my contact list! When I got the phone the reps at Tmobile copied my contacts on the sim that came along with the phone. When I turned it on...nothing..no contacts. so i copied contacts to phone from sim..then as i added new contacts...they never would save. I messed around with it and NOW somehow all my contacts appear twice does anyone have any clue what I have done and how I can maybe fix it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I'm sitting here trying to add pictures to all of my contacts. Is there an easier way to do this? Such as Facebook? I've never understood how Facebook syncs with my contacts, and I'm not even sure if our phone is capable of this.
Also, for the contacts I do have pictures of, how do I make them larger? When that person calls, their picture is tiny and doesn't fill the designated area for the picture. I'm currently using BH_MAN's updated BH2 stock rom.
I paired my Behold 2 to my 2009 BMW. I can make and receive calls via hands-free car kit but only part of my phone book contacts transferred to the car (only contacts from A to N in my case) When I deleted on the phone all contacts from letter N, contacts from letter M appeared on the car display. I called T-Mobile and Samsung - no help. Support from Samsung told me to find at android market Bluetooth Profile for Phone book Access but I can't find it. If anybody have the same problem or have a knowledge how to fix it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to the default contacts from the home screen I can see all of my contacts, including a lot of duplicate entries where one person will have 2 contact cards, 1 with a plain phone number, and 1 with their number labeled "mobile" (... through research found that the plain-numbered versions are probably simcard saved contacts, which can only contain 1 number per contact)all the apps that use the contacts (ie. hancent) refuse to recognize contacts saved in the sim format, so when i get a text from these people it just comes up with their number.All my contacts look fine in Gmail on the web and I even did a "merge contacts" command on duplicates to try and solve the issue. Looks fine on the web but my phone still has all these dupes, any ideas?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was trying to make a call today, but every time I pressed contacts a TouchWiz style error message would pop-up and say "Initializing, try again later." The wording may not be exact, but that's pretty close. Then it would dump me back to the home screen. I ended up rebooting and now it works fine. But when things that should be a basic function of the phone don't work, I get kind of ticked off.

I am currently using 1.6 tweaked v3 and the problem is if I can't send message using the message app(because can't find email contacts) but have to go through contacts (gmail)to send a picture. However when I do that, I can't attach a video. Now if I use the camera/camcorder app, while reviewing pictures the "send to" doesn't work. If i click on "default destination" and delete the emply destination I can choose between 5 options. The phone book option say "sorry!" the application has stopped unexpectedly and to force close. I can send video using the video player which is weird since doing it in the camcorder app won't work!. Seems alot of round about ways to do something which should be simple.

As it is now they are by last name, and that does not work for me. Can anybody tell me a way to do it, so that I don't have to change each contact manually?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn win for mobile is it possible to sort your contacts by company name in the same way as in Outlook. I use HTC Desire in my work and I have 1200 contacts. It is impossible to remember all names, but I remember the company name. It would be a nice feature in Android.

View 2 Replies View RelatedVery odd, but on Saturday, my phone game me the "almost out of space" icon on the top of the screen. I checked which apps were hogging the most space, and Contacts Storage was number one at 27 megabytes, twice the amount that it typically sits at.
So I turned of all of my syncs, deleted my contacts, and went back into my syncs to enable them all again, but then I noticed that Facebook was listed twice. I'm assuming this was because of the new Facebook update.
Did this happen to anyone else? Any theories?

View 13 Replies View RelatedAlright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy:
Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold.
Type in the following address into the : tmo-x.co.cc/tmobilex/
Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').
After many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone,you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

So i would like to root it and run a factory1.6 no twiz rom on it, but I'm having issues while doing it!....
I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
in the CMD, it returns with "permission denied"
Does anyone know if you can use any multitouch because any app that says it has multitouch doesn't work

I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.

Sprint release the 2.1 update for the Samsung Moment today. Here is the link to the update on Sprint's website. Will this update work for our Behold II? I'm willing to try to install it on mine (I'm currently running 1.6 no twiz). What do you think guys?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a good and comprehensive way of getting the Behold 2 recognized by Linux (ubuntu 9.10)? I have the SDK installed and everything works but I don't Know how to get Ubuntu to recognize my phone, when I do ./adb devices it comes up empty.
View 9 Replies View RelatedG1 and my Behold 2 her phone had good reception and the behold had nearly none. Half the time I don't get phone calls. They go straight to VM. My roommate's BB pearl gets double the reception mine does. My other roommate's Nokia gets even better reception. All on the T-mo network. Another friend who has a G1 same thing, he has reception I don't. Not to mention the other problems I have had. This is my 3rd Behold II by the way. Been replaced twice and back to Samsung for 3 weeks once.
