I installed an update to my ROM and restored apps + data to my phone and now the lock screen is stopping me from unlocking the phone. so i installed a bypass app to at least unlock my phone.
I need to either remove/reset the password so i can change it or have something to change the password.

I use Password for screen unlock (digits and letters). I changed yesterday night and now I totally can't remeber the combination.There is no option like pattern unlock to enter the google account password to unlock! even after doing 100 trial.
I really don't want to do a hard reset.I'm rooted and debugging mode is active
I tried doing this adb command but it didn't work as it appear for pattern lock;

My daughter has a HTC Inspire & recently lost it due to behavior unbecoming for a young lady!! My question is is there a way to gain root access in order to blow out the password file & access the phone or any other trick that wont reset everything? If im being honest, Im scared to death of what I might find but also believe its something that needs to be addressed before something even worse happens! I guess I could just record a youtube video of me putting a couple rounds in it!

He wants to know if there's any way to increase how long the lock screen stays lit up before it sleeps again(like when you light it up to check the time). I've personally never seen any option for that before, and honestly never cared about it but now I'm curious.
Where or how to change that setting? I'm not adverse to modifying a few system files here and there if necessary.

1 - Last night, I put a background app on my Eris and downloaded a couple. Got the message just fine that they were saved to my SD card.
2 - This question in two parts.
A - Where the heck are they? I went to look for them in the settings area, and I can't find them in any "gallery." What am I doing wrong?
B - Once "found," how do I save them to a gallery that I can use to change the lockscreen background?
Again, I can't do this on a PC and rooting is not an option for me (one, I really don't know much about it, and two, I think you lose Sense UI which I like and don't want to get rid of).locate any files on my SD card. As a matter of fact, the only option shown in my settings for the SD card is "Unmount SD card." The Format SD Card is greyed, so it's not letting me choose it even if I wanted to. View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had my Captivate synced to my work and school exchange server for about two months now. This morning, I had to change my work exchange password. However, on my phone....when I into Account Settings>Incoming Settings and try to change the password. I get "Two exchange accounts allowed". It seems it thinks I'm trying to setup a third account rather than change the password to the existing account.
How do I change the password? (I've thought about deleting the account....but my fear is that it will create another instance of calendar and contacts. which happened once before, also annoying...if anyone knows how to get rid of the old duplicated calendars.)
If I wanted to change the password for the account synced with the Droid, what would I have to do to make that work?
Also, what would happen if I just changed it from the web interface?
For some reason after I changed my gmail password it keeps saying "Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly." I tried logging into the gmail app but it keeps saying invalid username/pass. Won't even let me log in to facebook either. Running 2.1 (not rooted)

I was wondering if now that I have root there is a way to install a boot password similar to the one I have on my computer. Before it loads the operating system, the BIOS asks for a password. Is there any similar functionality for android?
Also, is this possible on other devices even if it is not on mine? It's one of my favorite laymen security measures.
I have had this same problem happen twice to me on 2 different phones on 2 different Verizon accounts!
The password screen locks and when it asks for the user name and password it states invalid user name / password!
Is this a known problem since when I called and talked to both Verizon and HTC the only thing they could tell me was to do a hard reset and they weren't aware of this problem?
how I can reset the default app settings. For example, using Blinkfeed on my M8, when I tap on a link, the first time I was asked which browser should be used. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried calling Verizon about my Droid 2 resetting almost nonstop. I can't make it through a phone call or browse the web or anything without it resetting. I had had my first one for less than a year when it started acting up. Verizon tried sending me a replacement but it did the same thing. Now I'm on my third Droid 2 in less than a year and it's resetting on its own also. I haven't downloaded any apps on this newest replacement so I don't know what's causing it. Could it be my battery or SD card? I'm just at a loss and I really don't want to get a new phone already.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhy my hosts file gets reset after a reboot no matter whether I change with adaway or adblock or if I manually replace the hosts file myself and set to read only. Have searched about and only solution I read about was get a custom kernel. Although I am already on a custom kitkat ROM and using dorimanx kernel for galaxy s2. Also never had problems with hosts resetting on jb or ICS. Even creating a symlink to data/data/hosts doesn't work. On reboot the symlink just gets replaced with the original useless hosts file.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a Kaya Android tablet which was lock after the user entered wrong pattern several times. The tablet presents the unlock with gmail screen but, guess what!, it does not connect to any even public unencrypted WiFi so that it is impossible to unlock with gmail account.
I tried to connect to it from adb via USB but it does not recognized as ADB device, only as USB mass-storage.And, finally, magic key combinations like power-volume-up does not give me any recovery or boot loader.
Is it the stage where I go and throw it to garbage or there is something else left?
Anytime I try to backup or install a new rom on rom manager, it redirects to that screen with android green robot and a box ant it keeps like that for some 2 seconds and when cellphone goes on, it is on default options of native rom like it was the first time i used it. ps. it happens when i click to restart for "save clockworkmod" (idk how its exactly written on rom manager but means it ) how to resolve it, i want to use cyanogenmod on my e510

I'm getting this message popping up on my GS3 T999V somewhat frequently. My phone will disconnect from whatever bluetooth device is currently connected and the phone will bring up the bluetooth device selection screen.
Do I simply need to reset the bluetooth stack or something to remedy this and if so, how do I go about doing that?

I've been owning an android since Nexus one, then the S and then Galaxy Nexus till few days ago when i decided to buy a Galaxy Note from Ebay.
I am with verizon, so after i switched my sim card from my galaxy nexus to the new note 2, after few minutes, it keeps downloading / syncing some text messages. Suddenly out of nowhere these text messages appear with someone elses conversation. After few minutes some other contacts appear in my contacts list too. None i know.Reset the whole phone again, this time did not log into any account and the same thing happens.reset another time and this time, removed the sim card and connected with WiFi only and still all the stuff appeared.
Usually when I reset the phone to factory settings, it tuns off an on few times and acts weird for few minutes until all these messages and contacts appear.I have checked and i am not signed into any account?! Don't know how these text messages keep appearing
My phone will not stay on at all. It will keep restarting unless plugged up to a charger or computer. It will just keep doing that every five seconds I have a galaxy s2 skyrocket.

Last night I installed busybox onto it. When I started it up this morning, I found it had gone and reset itself. (Goes back to default chinese language, all apps and settings gone) On top of that, it says there's 0.00 bytes of internal storage left. I can seem to install very small apps (less than a couple of megabytes) but nothing bigger than that.
Perhaps the most annoying thing is that when you restart, it resets again.

When I first bought it, I was not happy with the features it was offering so I searched and found out about the CM7(Cyanogenmod 7) mod, and decided that I wanted to try out a modded phone. I've been using CM7 for a few years now and have just plain become unhappy with what they're putting out and decided that I finally wanted my phone back to being normal and rooted. I booted into my clockworkmod(after backing up all apps/data with TitaniumBackup pro & taking pics/vids/etc off through USB) and decided to wipe my sdcard and all other options that Clockworkmod offers. After doing that I realized I made a horrible mistake...every time I go to reboot my phone, it ends up back at the boot menu and at the top it says "Fastboot Mode - No boot or recovery IMG" how would I go about resetting my phone back to a normal OS without being able to transfer stuff onto it without it being booted and having a USB option.

I think I'm probably going to go insane if I see this stupid grass anymore. The picture isn't even on my phone (anywhere I can see, obviously.) I don't know what to do.
