know of any apps that looks like iOS' camera or gallery? If you know of more than one app that would be even better, but knowing just one would be fine with me.

somehow i lost ONLY the camera pictures on my phone, even the videos are still there, how can i restore my pics ? I simply disappeared by it own, im on andriod 4.0

No success so now I want to go back to the original ics camera and gallery.. Unfortunately I delete the original ones when I install the 4.2 camera. So I download the camera apk and Google gallery. Apk and put in system.app the gallery shows up but not the camera. The gallery crash very often. I cannot make the camera shows up. Every time I turn on the phone it appears "Android update". I don't have a recovery.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've got a Samsung Galaxy III and have problems trying to view images in my gallery using the auto-rotate screen option and rather then having to manuallly press the rotate screen "icon" which does gets annoying. I just want to tilt my phone so the images can automatically change to portrait or landscape on its own depending what angle the phone tilts. I've ensure the auto-rotate screen is checked from Settings under Display and even tried unchecking it and checking it again as well as switching my phone on/off.
NOTE: That the auto-rotate screen option does work fine for me with everything else like watching videos, texting, internet browsing, music and even viewing the overall images in the gallery but when going in and viewing the pictures individually from either the Gallery or the Camera. All I've got is a rotate screen "icon" to press on manually each time I'd like the picture to be portrait and if I want landscape I have to press on the screen rotate icon again. I noticed the auto-rotate screen option doesn't work on my Home Screen and Lock Screen as well but that isn't the main issue.
I've been reading around and tried pulling out my battery on "Odin" mode, wait 30sec-1min then turn my phone on again and that didn't work. I've also did the same procedure and ensure I unchecked the auto-rotate screen option and checked it again after I turned on the phone. I tried the Gyroscope Caliberation option and calibrated it and that didn't work either. My sister has the same phone as me with the same version installed but she doesn't have this problem and I'm wondering if it's something to do with how my phone software's set up?

Recently I did a bunch of updates and started using google now. My phone performance has been significantly degraded as a result.
My most pressing issue is that after taking a photo, when I go to view it, it shows as normal brightness for 1 second and then gets very dark. This happens for every image as I scroll through them individually. It appears that I now have some sort of editing option or maybe google photos or picassa has hijacked my viewer. When I click on the gallery app this dimming issue does no occur. I am unable to view photos from the camera after taking them.
I have an application that uses a lot of png textures. There are too many to store with the app, so they are installed onto the SDCARD instead. The problem is that the default android gallery is seeing the png textures and is cluttering up the user's gallery screens with them. Is there a way to mark this resource folder in a particular manner so that Gallery will skip over it? Ideally, i'd like this to be something that my app can set so that the user doesn't have to do it.

When viewing my gallery I get little thumb nails of each photo. One of the photos is a gray box with a rectangle and a exclamation mark on it. If I click the gray thumb nail, my photo comes up perfect.Why the gray thumb nail?

The other day I noticed (after Cupcake, before it, everything worked great) that pictures I was taking weren't saving anywhere, the camera would snap, you'd get a little view and poof, gone. Not saved to a gallery anywhere. Last night upon charging, I turned off the phone and when I turned it back on, the entire folder of camera pictures was gone. All I have on there now is move and "all pictures," both of which are the same pics. The gallery of everything I've shot is just gone. I plugged into my computer, the dci folder was empty, no photos. Does anyone out there know what may have happened or where the gallery might be hiding? Or are they just gone forever, S.O.L.?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI added around 6 gb of music to my 8 gb microSD card. After that the Camera updates the SD card for 20 minutes initially and after each picture is taken, and the Gallery says "Please wait..." for 20 minutes each time a new picture is added. If I remove the music files the slowdown is almost gone. I still think the Gallery is slow updating, but I can live with a few seconds. 20 minutes between each picture is just insane. The SD card works fine otherwise, and I have tried to reformat on the phone also. Same problem. What is wrong, and is ther anything I can do except for not having music on the phone?

My previous (and first) smart phone was an HTC Pure which runs Windows Mobile 6.5 and is perhaps better known as the Topaz, Pure being its AT&T edition. The camera on that phone does 5.0 mpx, so it's obviously much better. Even on just the small device screens, you can see the quality difference at a glance.
For a particular objective, I need to be able to take good pictures on the go, but have the Internet connection provided by my current Android device. In other words, I want to take pictures with the HTC, beam them to my Optimus, and then use that to send out the pictures. I was having a bit of trouble getting the devices to work well together in their native states, so I flashed a version of Froyo onto the old HTC. Having done that, I found that the Bluetooth connection between the devices worked quite well. But when I try to use one of the Android camera apps to take pictures on the HTC, it's not taking full advantage of the lens' capability. The photos show up on the screen about the size of a large postage stamp; in fact not much bigger than a thumbnail picture.
Do Android camera apps not work at any better resolution than 3.2?
I want to create a new app that's a plugin for the camera or gallery but I'm unsure how to get my app into the list of of apps in the gallery.
After you take picture, if you review it, there is a list of apps that you can do stuff with the picture like Facebook, email, PicSay, etc. This list of apps can also be accessed in the gallery by clicking on the icon that looks like binary tree on its side with three nodes (a dot on the left with two lines coming out heading right at angles up and down connecting to two more dots).

The code to know the device id (*#*#8255#*#*)is not showing jid or the details that are required for apk downloader.
I have searched most of the places but couldn't find a solution, the problem is that the GTalk service monitor screen shows 'aid' and a couple of other texts but no device id or the registered email is shown.
In the past the code has worked for me but this time only developers know whats happening. I am very eagerly waiting to download new apps from the store but this hurdle has got me for now.
