HTC Incredible :: Auto Display Desk Clock When Charging?

View 6 RepliesSo the default Sense clock widget has a mode called desk clock, and it basically switches the entire screen to a black background with a digital clock on it. It's simple, but I like the idea for when I'm sleeping or working on the computer or whatever. Thing is, the screen still times out and locks itself at the normal length of time, which makes the mode pretty useless. Does anyone know of a way around this, or is this really feature really that poorly planned?

View 22 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an app like Desk Clock, but something that displays more information, especially text notifications. When I am at work, I like to have the phone on my desk, with the kickstand, and just having the Desk Clock app running. Is there any other application that lets you see some good info while in landscape mode? (If the 'scene' UI let you see them in Landscape, that would be the best solution...)
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy desk clock goes away when my 30 second screen time out is reached...i assumed that would be deactivated when using the desk clock...how do i use this and keep it on the entire time?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a good desk clock with adjustable brightness and potentially themes? I would really like something too use at night since the EVO has this handy kickstand.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone got a fix why the 2.1 desk clock app or cradle is only showing the temperature in Celsius. I have unchecked the Celsius icon in the settings but no luck. If i tap the Celsius weather is shows the temperature in Fahrenheit.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of a way to stop the desk clock app from disappearing once the screen time-outs? my screen i currently set to time-out after 1 minute which ideally i don't want to change. however, what i'd like is for the desk clock to display when my phone is on my bedside table during the night. at the moment i lose the clock as soon as 1 minute has passed which seems to make this app quite pointless. Ive tried using an app called 'keep screen' but found this to be a little annoying
View 16 Replies View RelatedI want the HTC Desk Clock Widget (the one with great weather animations, etc) on my Droid X. I was thinking it would be easy, but I'm guessing I'll have to "root" both devices. In lieu of that, does anyone know of a Desktop Clock app WITH weather that actually works properly on the Droid X. The one I purchased the other day (and since returned for refund) (from "Apps4Cause") was virtually non-functional.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I'm loving 2.1, but Well, when I started up the desk clock application, I excepted to see some links to media and stuff, like on the Droid. Was I just assuming that was going to be there instead of JUST a clock, or am I missing something?
View 3 Replies View RelatedBoth my wife and I have Desire HDs and we are both experiencing this same problem. We have our phones charging overnight on the bedside with the night clock activated, but after a random amount of time the phone starts going what I can only describe as 'wappy'. It's as if there is someone tapping the screen and selecting options, all manner of things are happening on the screen, apps are starting, search boxes opening. No clock though. I've made sure there is nothing touching the screen and then sat and waited for it, it just starts happening for no apparent reason. Any ideas? My logical mind has already ruled out paranormal activity.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using my Bionic as my alarm clock since I got it. I have a dock at home, and the display stays on all night when docked. I also periodically dock my phone while at work, which also keeps the display on.
I realize that the phones are meant to be used and they wouldn't build these features into these phones if they were bad for them... right?
My question is this: How many people dock their phones and use them as alarm clocks, and have you ever encountered any problems with prolonged use and the brightness or sharpness of the screens?
I am concerned that I am wearing out my display by keeping it on all night while I am asleep.
I'm looking for an alarm clock app with one very specific feature - allow me to set the alarm tone to automatically stop after X seconds, then start again at the next snooze interval, and play for another X seconds.
Sure it seems every alarm app out there allows me to set Snooze intervals and stuff, but with my waking up habit, I don't like to physically have to touch the phone to get it to shut up until the next snooze interval. I like to lay in bed and let the alarm go for like 3-4 snooze intervals before I finally wake up.
I've tried Alarm Clock PlusV2, Alarm Clock Xtreme, Quick Alarm. None of them seem to have this.
I got my Inc about 2 months ago and at first I thought this was just a fluke, but it's happening all the time. Basically, if my phone is sitting flat on my desk and I get a call, the phone will ring for about a second before going silent. It still vibrates and still wants me to answer the call, but the ringtones have stop.
I even experienced this today driving in to work. The phone was sitting on my leg when I got a call. Same problem. Rang for a second and then silent. If I am holding it or it's in my pocket, it seems to ring without any problems. That "silent ring on pickup" or whatever option in the settings is not selected and I don't believe I have any sort of app installed that controls the volume of the phone.
I've been looking around for an app that automatically turns on the WiFi when the charger is connected to the phone, and then turns it off again when the charger is disconnected, but I can't seem to find anything... Does anyone know of an app capable of this?

Thanks
I'm a new desire user and would like to know if there is a way (apps/setttings etc) to stop the phone from going to sleep and screen locking when it is on charge? I use it for listening to music in the car in a charging dock and it's a pain to have to unlock the screen and enter my password if I want to skip tracks. I have to have the password active because of the corporate email policy. Anyway of setting it so it doesn't turn off when on charge?
View 3 Replies View RelatedComing from a LG Dare, I became accustomed to the clock showing while the phone was on charge. I cannot find the setting which allows this on my Fascinate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a, possibly, a fullscreen clock widget that shows the clock and active alarms? Thanks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI set up the option to keep the display on while charging. That's before I realized what a drain the display is on the battery. Now that I want to turn it off, I can't find it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen the Evo screen is on for a bit I notice the screen dims, I guess to save on battery life. Is there a way to stop the auto dimming and just have it go straight to a locked/black screen from full brightness?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI don't plan on upgrading phones for a while since I am pretty happy with this one, and I have been thinking about getting a charging cradle so it would keep the phone upright while charging. From what I understand, even with a dock/cradle this phone is not like some of the others that are on the market, so when you connect it to the cradle all it will do is charge. It won't display the clock, or weather, or anything along that line. So, buying a dock is pretty much a waste of money, right? Or is there a way to have it display that info upon cradle?
I know that the phone does come with a clock program, but it doesn't launch on connect which seems really pointless, unless there is a way to have the application launch. Plus, when it is displaying the time it doesn't bounce around the screen so I am kind of nervous about burning the screen in that area (like what would happen with old computer monitors/tv's).
The stock Android lock screen will display your battery status while your phone is charging; does anyone know how to have it display your current battery status while it is not charging?
This doesn't seems like a super difficult task to accomplish, I'm just unsure where I need to start to get things going. It would be so awesome if someone would actually help me.
I have switched from Android 2.3.6 to 4.0.3 (ICSSGS RC 4.2) on my Samsung Galaxy S.
All I need works fine but there is one thing I wonder. The automatic regulation of the display brightness is very dark compared to the old 2.3.6.
Now I wonder ist this an Android 4.0.3 or ICSSGS feature? Is there a way to increase the offset for this feature a little bit. Sure I can turn it off and use manually brighness, but that's not what I want.
Some questions regarding locked screen.
1) How do you get the locked screen to show for more than 5 seconds?
2) Where is the clock that is on the box?
3) Is there a way to be able to use the "droid" theme that is shown when you power the phone up?
I got my hands on a Sprint Samsung Moment couple of days ago and already am missing my little HTC Touch Vogue(Customized with Windows Mobile 6.5). I was always flashing all kinds of custom ROMs into the Vogue and realize it's not that easy on these android phones. Anyway, I would like to know if there are android apps that will display the Flip clock with the weather and also if there are widgets or apps which will display the email, text message and missed call count on the desktop. I don't care for the notification bar so much.
On another note, I am using K-9 Mail for email but now I get notification from both the stock email client as well as K-9. How does one make K-9 the default? The latest version of K-9 has taken out the Email frequency check from the settings so I'm not sure hot to set the interval for email check.
My application needs to display the time. Rather then displaying time as 11:00 I am wondering whether it is possible to have to have static/paused/stopped analogue clock showing 11' o clock?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSay, here's a lame question. How do I stop my display from auto-dimming? Running DamageControl 2.07.2 if that helps... I remember finding the setting in 1.5, but can't locate it in 2.1.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a tablet that it must be as automated as possible. I'm using Macrodroid, E Robot and Tasker as apps.
I need to be able to send a message (such a whole email) to the tablet, and it must automatically display the message on the screen without any interaction with it.
I've had my Hero on Orange for 4 or 5 days now and apart from when I first switched on the phone the weather app has just said "No weather data available" and the clock/weather widget has just had my location. I have the "location by cell" thing switched on, and I did manage to get it working once with the GPS, but other than that it just displays my location. It's the same whatever location I am in. The other cities download the weather just fine (London, Paris, New York, etc.). It's not like I'm somewhere tiny either, I am in Bromley. It doesn't make any difference whether I'm using WiFi or 3G.
