Android :: How To Get A Desk Clock Application?

I'm looking for an app like Desk Clock, but something that displays more information, especially text notifications. When I am at work, I like to have the phone on my desk, with the kickstand, and just having the Desk Clock app running. Is there any other application that lets you see some good info while in landscape mode? (If the 'scene' UI let you see them in Landscape, that would be the best solution...)
View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of a way to stop the desk clock app from disappearing once the screen time-outs? my screen i currently set to time-out after 1 minute which ideally i don't want to change. however, what i'd like is for the desk clock to display when my phone is on my bedside table during the night. at the moment i lose the clock as soon as 1 minute has passed which seems to make this app quite pointless. Ive tried using an app called 'keep screen' but found this to be a little annoying

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want the HTC Desk Clock Widget (the one with great weather animations, etc) on my Droid X. I was thinking it would be easy, but I'm guessing I'll have to "root" both devices. In lieu of that, does anyone know of a Desktop Clock app WITH weather that actually works properly on the Droid X. The one I purchased the other day (and since returned for refund) (from "Apps4Cause") was virtually non-functional.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo the default Sense clock widget has a mode called desk clock, and it basically switches the entire screen to a black background with a digital clock on it. It's simple, but I like the idea for when I'm sleeping or working on the computer or whatever. Thing is, the screen still times out and locks itself at the normal length of time, which makes the mode pretty useless. Does anyone know of a way around this, or is this really feature really that poorly planned?

We have our phones charging overnight on the bedside with the night clock activated, but after a random amount of time the phone starts going what I can only describe as 'wappy'. It's as if there is someone tapping the screen and selecting options, all manner of things are happening on the screen, apps are starting, search boxes opening. No clock though. I've made sure there is nothing touching the screen and then sat and waited for it, it just starts happening for no apparent reason. Any ideas? My logical mind has already ruled out paranormal activity.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using my Bionic as my alarm clock since I got it. I have a dock at home, and the display stays on all night when docked. I also periodically dock my phone while at work, which also keeps the display on.
I realize that the phones are meant to be used and they wouldn't build these features into these phones if they were bad for them... right?
My question is this: How many people dock their phones and use them as alarm clocks, and have you ever encountered any problems with prolonged use and the brightness or sharpness of the screens?
I am concerned that I am wearing out my display by keeping it on all night while I am asleep.
I still have not recieved my G1 and I was wondering if there was an alarm clock application on the phone?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an application that runs fine. However, if i set the alarm clock's alarm, it happens this:
1. The alarm is triggered 2. My application gets dimmed and the clock appears on top of it 3. When i close the alarm, my application CLOSES TOO
When the alarm is dismissed, my app receive the events onClose and onDestroy.
I already saw other apps that survive after the alarm is triggered.
There could be an app for an alarm clock. I have a problem waking up or well hitting the snooze maybe on the stock alarm clock add a pin number when you hit the snooze kind of wake your brain up by thinking.

I can't seem to find anything like this for my android phone. Can someone recommend an app that I can use which is basically set it and forget it. I want something that will notify me similar to how an alarm clock would rather than just a one time notification that I may miss.

I made the above so the when i touch the clock opens the alarm settings. But is not universal.
I found out that on droids with 2.2 does not work. There must be a better solution than creating an if statement for every android phone flavor i the world. Plus i don not know the package names for all.
I have a question for widget support on Android. I found clock in the android destop, and want to know if it is a widget or application (Activity)? If it is a widget, what about the widget engine (runing enviroment) of android?

Generally while I'm at work my Droid sits on my desk, leaning up against my laptop. Usually I have it plugged in to the USB cable so it can charge while I'm using my computer.
I'm at my desk for approximately 4 hours out of the day.
What app should I be running while it sits there so I can see something more interesting than my finger prints reflecting back at me?
About the Eris. On version 2.1 does Beautiful Widgets (the app) show under "data" on your SD card? Should it? If it doesn't belong there should and I delete BW - will the clock/weather on the home screen still work? I expect the HTC / Android clock weather deal is a widget vs an app? Or is it an app and what is it called?'
View 6 Replies View RelatedTried to set an alarm on the default clock app on the Legend. To my surprise, it never went off when it was supposed to. When I tested it I was quite shocked to find that the built-in/default sounds wouldn't play. When it put I enabled the vibrate checkbox, it began to vibrate at the set time but there was no sound. So I downloaded an alarm app from the droid marketplace and it worked fine. Even the default Legend sounds were working in the app. When I went back to the built-in alarm, the sounds started playing normally. Not sure what could've caused this. Could it have something to do with the task-killer?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on an Android Application for AutiPlan, which is a web-based planner tool for people with an Autism-related disorder.I want to create an application which shows the current activity (planned item), together with a clock. (AnalogClock) On this clock, I want to paint a red background from the current-minute to the minute at which the activity ends. To clarify, if it is now 12:00 and the current activity ends at 12:15, the right-top quarter of the circle that makes out the analog clock is red. This has to be updated every minute, so that it is clear how much time is left for the current activity. (The red section gets smaller each minute). Also, (question 2) I want to use AnalogClock to display a small (stationary) clock with the time that the next activity starts. Can I set the time of the object so it displays a specific time?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI put my phone on NPS and saw that there is an update. I was so happy and hit "Update" button fast. After downloading, phone reset, boot starting but no desk apearing. Only "SAMSUNG" word flashing on screen. There was no reaction on buttons. Battery out and in, phone boot and same thing happens. Try updating again but NPS said that cannot recognize the phone. Recovery button is disabled. After short browsing on this forum I saw some that there is combination of three buttons for turning on download mode. I try that and it works, but didnt do anything before thinking and some consulting here. What are my options now? Personaly I would like to have official update, if not then roll back is good option, if not what can I do to hack my phone without loosing any too much options on my phone?
