Nov 11, 2010Coming from a LG Dare, I became accustomed to the clock showing while the phone was on charge. I cannot find the setting which allows this on my Fascinate.

Samsung Fascinate :: Can't Use Phone While It Is Charging
Nov 25, 2010When the phone is charging, the "alarm clock plus" app page comes up. When I try to click out to perform any function, it goes back to that page. I am sometimes able to complete another operation, but usually the phone goes back to the "alarm clock plus" page before I can complete it. Any ideas?

Feb 5, 2012So my wife has a Samsung Fascinate no-rooted and running the official Gingerbread update for a while now. The issue started a few weeks ago. At night she turns the phone off, plugs it into the wall charger to charge overnight, and then the phone turns itself back on. The phone will not stay off while she is trying to charge it. She has had the phone for over a year and this just started happening recently.

Nov 25, 2010Has anyone experienced this? I searched the forums and the common answer was that 3 hours was normal but it takes my phone around 8 hours to charge on both USB and wall charging.
I just got the fascinate a few days ago. Defective battery or handset? I called Verizon and they said that it can't be troubleshot.
I really like the phone but 8 hours is excessive.

Sep 11, 2010When the phone searches for WiFi it comes up with several nearby weak ones but not my strong 4 bar home network.Meanwhile, my Samsung Omnia and my Dell laptop in the same position in the house both see the network just fine and show maximum bars.SSID is broadcast.The phone just doesn't even see this strong nearby network.

Oct 6, 2010I've been reading a lot about the droid x and the fascinate.
I like my palm pre because of the webos, but i really really hate the keyboard and some other minor annoyances.
I had an eris before and it was ok. i still have it and use it mostly as a kindle for reading in bed at night.
Here are my questions:
1 - on the Eris, my main complaint is that when reading on the Kindle app in the dark, the soft keys light up and are really bright. is there some sort of patch or something that i can use so that that doesn't happen on the fascinate?
2 - alarm clock - the palm pre plus does not have a separate volume for the ringer and the alarm. if i set the alarm, i have to be prepared for any other notifications to come thru as well. on the fascinate, is there the ability to silence everything BUT the alarm clock?
3 - GPS - i use google maps a lot and go to big cities on the East Coast frequently. some of the droid x/fascinate threads say the fascinate gps is laggy/inaccurate. has this been the experience of users in ny/dc/baltimore/philly? i know that in my mostly podunk town, gps can be off by quite a bit, but much more accurate in larger cities. not sure of the technicalities behind GPS so maybe it's just my imagination.

Oct 4, 2010I didn't notice this before but Weatherbug, when using the "elite" widget, shows me yesterday's weather along with today and tomorrow.Call me strange, but I really don't need to know what it did yesterday since I was here to experience it.Has Weatherbug always shown yesterday's weather and I'm just noticing? I don't see any setting to change it.When I open Weatherbug it takes me to last night's weather (labeled "tonight") and then today's weather shows up as Monday (not "today").

Nov 10, 2010I have an upgrade available atm and I can't decide if I should wait or not. I currently have a Droid 1 rooted/OC'd. My options are either the Fascinate or wait till Jan-Feb. I have zero interest in the X, and can't see "upgrading" to the D2 or the Incredible.
It is probably meaningless to ask the Fascinate community because, like the D1 community, you're probably all biased..but how are you liking your Fascinates? Would you upgrade to it today if you had the choice? What's the highest achievable clock speed to date (stable)? How is audio quality, I've heard of speaker crackling when at max volume?

Sep 8, 2010Does anyone else's touch screen become unresponsive when the Epic is being charged? My touch screen gets glitchy and only responds to a fraction of touches.
I just received mine yesterday and I've already spent more than 6 hours trying to troubleshoot this issue. Most of the google searches that I've found have to do with cheap 3rd party chargers, but I'm using the OEM Samsung charger.
I thought it might be the charger, so I went out and purchased 4 different chargers today, but none of them fix the issue.
I also ordered another Epic for my wife at the same time, and her Epic has the same problem, which suggests that it's not a defective phone (unless they both came from the same batch).
To confuse things even more, I've been able to isolate 2-3 outlets in the house where this problem doesn't happen. The problem also doesn't happen when I charge at work, through a car charger, or via USB from the laptop.
I'm inclined to think it has something to do with the outlets in the house. However, I've never heard of any issue like that and the house is relatively new (built in '98).

Feb 23, 2010I've noticed that since updating to CL14 my screen will stay on after the phone is done charging. So I will put it on the charger when I go to bed and every time when I wake up in the morning or in the middle of the night the screen is on.

Sep 13, 2010Came into work this morning, plugged the phone into the Samsung dock, was trying to get to my gmail when the screen went out. Well, I've had some annoyances with the screen timeout, so I thought nothing of it. Tried pushing the power button. Nothing. Took the phone off the dock. Tried again - nothing. The backlight comes on on the capacitive buttons, but the screen is black. Held down the power button - the power off/airplane/silent toggle comes on. Okay, I thought - maybe it's frozen up. Powered down, got the VZW splash screen. Powered back up, got the whole bootup animation. After the VZW splash screen, screen goes black and I'm right back in the same place again. I've also tried this process with removing the battery. Same thing happens. Seems to linger at the Verizon splash screen longer than I remember, too, on bootup. About 20 seconds. So to recap, here I am: The backlight on the capacitive buttons is on (and not dimming, btw). If I hold down power, I get the power off menu. Otherwise, the screen is black, and not responding to any button presses. I'm running Launcher Pro, otherwise stock/not rooted. Need help - don't have time to go wait at the vzw store for an hour today.

Oct 19, 2010I opened this app (battery booster, can't post link because I am new) after downloading it excited to hoping it was better then a previous one I was trying that seemed to do next to nothing.I saw the brightness button and hit it. It showed 11%. I was like oh I thought I had this all the way down.so I use the scroller to take it all the way down assuming 0% meant that it was the lowest it could possible dim the screen.well it sure is a battery saver considering I can't even see my screen as its completely BLACK

Aug 20, 2010Started lastnight and AT&T doesn't seem to know what's up. I was fooling around with the AT&T Nav and the Google Nav when it happned. Not that I haven't mess with them before but I found it strange. Also got a small screen that popped up once when I went into applications saying Sim on/off with the choices to click ok or cancel.
