HTC Incredible :: Applications Not Working / Account Details Reset

Oct 14, 2010

My Droid was working fine until last evening when I did a battery pull, shortly after I upgraded several apps that required updates. After my Droid rebooted and loaded back up, I first noticed several error messages about app function unexpectedly shutting down. Then if I tapped on some of my more commonly used apps, they wouldn't load up (similar error messages). For example: I use Twidroyd Pro (twitter app) a lot and when I tap it, I get: "The appliction Twidroyd PRO (process com.twidroidpro) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."Similar errors I guess under the class "com." appear when I click on other apps. Not all the apps mind you. For example, my Facebook or Evernote app, when I click on them, they prompt me to enter my username & password. Others work fine. I can browse the net on it, I can "Talk", etc. What should I do next?

Android :: IMAP Email For Google Applications Account Not Working

Aug 14, 2010

I have been trying to setup my schools email account via google apps but to no avail. I have gotten count less errors both on the gmail and email app. Typical errors include "invalid credentials", "rejected", or something of that nature. I have also tried setting my username to "anon@usc.edu" , "anon@gmail.com", or simply "anon". These are the settings I use:

Incoming mail settings
Imap
Imap.gmail.com
Port 993
SSL

I won't bother including outgoing email settings because I have yet to even make it past the incoming settings page.

Is it normal for the Gmail last account activity to show an IP form a state that is a few hundred miles from me? Should I be worried or is it completely normal for my IP to bounce from different towers like that? It has always originated from my home state, yesterday was the only time I ever noticed I was using an IP from another state.

General :: Forgot Google Account Details - How To Recover

Apr 11, 2013

My friend's phone got stuck in a bootloop the other day and the only way to recover it was to do a hard reset. The trouble being he has no idea what his Google account details are. He knows neither his email address or his password. He's never sent an email from his Gmail and never set up an emergency email account for recovery purposes. I've scoured the Internet for a solution but if all you have is your phone number, there doesn't seem to be any way to reinstate your account. His phone isn't rooted as he's not that kind of user. Android :: Market Details Not Working

Mar 30, 2009

Apparently, I supposed to be able to open the Market page of my app by querying an intent with an URL like: market://details?id=<app_id> where <app_id> seems to be the package name: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=5c850. However, while this seems to indeed open the Market app with the details activity, it always gives me "A Server error occured". I'm trying both launching the intent through code, as well as on an adb shell as, say: am start "market://details? id =com.NamcoNetworks.PacMan". Neither works.

HTC Incredible :: Froyo Factory Reset Not A True Reset

Sep 27, 2010

Why a Froyo factory reset really isn't (plus, a fix for upgrade issues) | Android Central Its in reference to the X but I am going to factory reset tonight and see what happens."If you're one of those folks who is less than pleased with your Droid X after the Froyo update, this one's for you. Android Central Forums member Fabrian was at wit's end, and even talked of ditching his X (blasphemy!) because of the random bugs, general weirdness, and plain old unsatisfactory performance of his unit since the update. His last-ditch effort and ingenuity seems to have paid off. The secret? He has completely disabled the Froyo feature that restores data from previous installs. It's really just a matter of turning off the automatic restore feature before logging back into your Google account. It's a little odd that "Automatic Restore" is still checked by default, even when "Back up my data" isn't, but there you go.The method isn't too painful and does require one more factory reset, but the payoff appears to be a much smoother experience. Makes sense, too restoring data from Eclair to Froyo probably isn't a very good idea even if it is convenient.

We've verified it here, a hard reset in Froyo isn't really a hard reset, as things come back by themselves. Follow Fabrian's instructions, and you will have a pristine Froyo installation on your Droid X (or Nexus One -- Sense on Froyo has no setting for this that we could find). Any troublemaking leftovers will be no more, and won't get downloaded and installed automatically again. If you're being plagued with myriad tiny bugs in your Droid X after the update, give it a try! [Android Central Forums] Thanks Fabrian, nice sleuthing!"

I thought it would be interesting if people listed little detials that they notice about the phone that other might not of notcied. I got one myself that I thought was pretty cool once I noticed it.

If you look at the optical trackpad in the right light, you can see that it is actually red to match the accents of the phone.

really big pictures to try to capture it. It was really hard to get the right lighting to reflect the color back.

Its a lot easier to see in person, just try to get light into it and it will glow red.

Motorola Droid :: Factory Reset And Updates / Applications / Root

Jan 25, 2010

There's a lot of instructions floating around for unrooting the droid and what makes the most sense to me is to let the phone handle factory reset thereby bringing the phone back to its original out of the box configuration. By reset I'm referring to booting with power+x vol up+camerra and choosing factory reset from the list. Can someone who's done the reset on a rooted phone confirm that SU permissions are gone after? Also, does the reset delete all apps, system settings and user data and bring the phone back to a true factory state (including going back to OS 2.0)?
