Android :: Market Details Not Working

Apparently, I supposed to be able to open the Market page of my app by querying an intent with an URL like: market://details?id=<app_id> where <app_id> seems to be the package name: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=5c850. However, while this seems to indeed open the Market app with the details activity, it always gives me "A Server error occured". I'm trying both launching the intent through code, as well as on an adb shell as, say: am start "market://details? id =com.NamcoNetworks.PacMan". Neither works.

I want to do something very similar (in terms of appearance) to the app details activity of the Market app. It looks like a cross between linear layout (not all rows the same), list (scrolling nature), preferences (headings). My guess is its a linear layout in a scroll view (ignoring activity header/footer) and the headings are just hard coded.

My Droid was working fine until last evening when I did a battery pull, shortly after I upgraded several apps that required updates. After my Droid rebooted and loaded back up, I first noticed several error messages about app function unexpectedly shutting down. Then if I tapped on some of my more commonly used apps, they wouldn't load up (similar error messages). For example: I use Twidroyd Pro (twitter app) a lot and when I tap it, I get: "The appliction Twidroyd PRO (process com.twidroidpro) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."Similar errors I guess under the class "com." appear when I click on other apps. Not all the apps mind you. For example, my Facebook or Evernote app, when I click on them, they prompt me to enter my username & password. Others work fine. I can browse the net on it, I can "Talk", etc. What should I do next?

these last few days i wanted to download certain applications. i click install and the market tells me item to be downloaded. then i got to downloads and it says: starting download. and it remains like this forever and the download would not start, tried clear cache, uninstall upodates, clear data with no results...

Recently I buy a HTC Hero and now I have some problem.
1- Android market do not work. When I run android market nothing appeared.
2- I cannot login to my twitter and I do not know why. I check the password twice from my computer but on hero not work.
3- Is it any way for updating facebook status faster? Is there any facebook widget?

Searching around I've found loads of people have the same issue. Suddenly you'll loose access to gmail (unable to load, retry?), market place and sync just shows errors. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FACTORY RESET. Now I've found you can resolve easily by deleting the com.android.providers.settings older entirely via root, then rebooting. at shell type: rm -r /data/data/com.android.providers.settings. THEN REBOOT. You'll loose some settings, ringtones, notifications, screen brightness, but these are easily reset. If when you sync you get a ! you may also have to, or like to, clear the data under settings>apps> for gmail, gmailstorage, contacts,contactstorage, calender, calendarstorage - DO A SYNC FIRST AND CHECK IN YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT ON A PC AS YOU'LL LOOSE ANYTHING NOT SYNC'D. But why do so many devices suddenly bork requiring this? Does anyone know?

Data there are inconsistent!. On dashboard I have TWO new bugs. Going down I see one NEW and one OLD. When I click on NEW link I see one OLD only. When I go down I see bug marked as OLD. I got a brand new, unlocked Samsung Galaxy about a week and a half ago. I had two immediate problems with the phone:
1. No Market
2. 3G didn't seem to be working
I fixed the lack of Market problem by upgrading to the H7 firmware. I was hoping this would also fix the 2nd problem, but it hasn't. I've also tried getting a new SIM card from AT&T, and this hasn't seemed to work either.
Obviously I may end up having to call Samsung USA at some point and request a fix, but not only might that mean I have to live without the phone for a long time, I have no idea if Samsung USA will even want to help me since I bought it 3rd-party unlocked and it isn't even officially in the states yet.
So if anyone has some ideas, that'd be appreciated. (And yes, the "Use only 2g networks" setting is unchecked)

I'm NEVER notified when there is an update. It's not that big of a deal but it would be a really nice feature that worked. My boyfriend (using the moment) gets his notification but I don't understand why I'm not getting any. I do have it set so it would notify my. Also I been having this problem since I got it in November.

I was trying to check the market for any available updates and noticed that its not working. It will only show one app in the start up screen and when I go to the download folder it says it is empty. I just used the market earlier today and it worked fine anyone else having this problem?

I'm on RC3 and decided to uninstall google maps and voice that came with the gapps pack so that I could reinstall them through the market and get updates. However,both downloads failed and now I can't connect to the market at all. It says a server error has occurred.
1) How do I reconnect to the market?
2) Why is the installation of google developed apps failing?

this isnt the same as all the others, i rooted my phone and was able to download apps for a few minutes, after that all my apps would sit at "starting Download" i would wait hours for it to work but nothing ever changed. i paniked and reset factory settings on my phone so i only have stock apps and SU, the catch is it wont let me delete SU so my warrantee is void. also when i try to reboot recovery it looks like it will then goes black and starts normally. is there a way to remove SU or reboot recovery another way? i would be fine if the market started working again please help.

I updated to 2.2 with fresh 3. "whatever" now my market will not open and the people app keeps force closing, if anyone could offer any fixes it would be greatly appreciated. i did do a wipe cache and divche cache or whatever that spelling is. i did not do a factory reset as i thought i might lose my root that way, was i supposed to do that wipe also. is there a 3rd party app that could be conflicting. my apologies if this question has already been posted, ive searched this forum and xda and the net to no avail on fixing this specific problem on my evo.

I have Live Wallpapers on my Market, but when I download, they don't do anything; nor can I seem to access them anywhere (that I can find).
So, working? Not working? Neet Root? Anyone know for sure?

I'm new to this, but when I look in Market I sometimes can't find certain apps. Was just looking for Where (where.com) a good travel app and it's not in there. Also when I install Yelp, it installs but immediately closes when I try to launch.
Is this a canada thing or what? Is the firmware so old that these phones are useless?

Android market has stopped working for me, been fine since I bought my phone in January - but now when I go into the market - I can't download anything. It finds apps fine - but nothing ever moves from 'Starting download'. I've switched my phone off a few times and still it won't work.

I have a question about service, take a music player for example. While I am playing the music in background as a service. And then a phone call happens, what should the service do? Will the OS (android) pause the service, or will the developer who develop the service write code to detect things like this and define the operations? I understand remote wipe is finally supported in 2.2 but I can't seem to find a full Exchange feature list. What works, what's buggy, what doesn't work at all? I have corporate users wanting to move from BlackBerry to the Droid X but as the IT department I need to know what problems to expect before allowing them to change phones.

Anybody knows how to get the ">" sign in the listview? Like for example is done in the gocart app (now shopsavvy), see screenshots here: http://code.google.com/intl/nl/android/adc/adc_gallery/app.html?id=17 The idea of the ">" sign is to show the user there's more information available (when clicking on the entry).
I know how to do it by making my own custom items in a ListView. Is that how they probably did it? Thus with their own drawable on the right? I'm kindof hoping I don't need to do it this way, that there's already something in existence for it :)
Is there a theme or something else that does it for you? Or at least an existing drawable (I did not find it here [url]

Two questions about google voice app.
1) When Google voice is installed on phone and one uses google voice to place a call, are the cell phone plan minutes being used?
2) Is cell phone signal strength relevant to placing a call using Google voice? I am under the impression that google voice does not rely on signal strength but instead on the internet connection.
My house does not have good cell phone signal.. can i use google voice on my phone with wifi turned on? and am I actually burning my cell phone minutes while using google voice?
