I tried hooking up a cassette adapter to the headphones jack so I could play music through the car speakers, while still having bluetooth on in case a call came in. But the audio still plays through the bluetooth. Is there any way to make the audio go through the headphone jack?

Have had my new Incredible now for a couple of weeks and love it. I am still learning so much about how it works and have searched but can't seem to find an answer to this question. When I plugged in my earbuds from my Ipod tonight to go for a walk, the music continued to play through the speaker and not the headphones. I can't seem to find what I have done. I am using Isynch for my music and the preloaded music app. Do I need special headphones?

So my understanding is that you have to insert a headphone jack to listen to it and it won't work with the bluetooth headphones. If that's the case then it sucks as I really wanted to use my BT headphones.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having some totally inexplicable trouble with a pair of Sennheiser MM200 Bluetooth headphones I just picked up.When I first got them set up, they paired just fine with my Moto Droid (latest firmware, 2.0.1). I was able to listen to music great, talk on the phone, etc., for a few hours.Then for no reason they became disconnected. I checked the bluetooth status and it said they were "Paired but not connected". I tried connecting, but it would simply say "Could not connect".So, I unpaired them and started the headphones up on pairing mode again. Now, the Droid can't even detect them, at all.
This went on permanently. I restarted the Droid, pulled the battery, turned bluetooth on and off, paired it to another bluetooth device, I even reformatted the damn thing! STILL can't see my MM200 headset! What's worse is that my wife's BlackBerry Storm can see them and pair with them just fine! Every time.But to my Droid, they have become completely invisible.
If I'm on the home screen of my Desire and I play the Play button on my (bundled HTC) headphones, both Music and Listen start playing. If I was already listening to music and I hit the button to pause it, the music pauses but once again Listen starts playing. Is there any way I can easily avoid this?

The song plays loud and clear through the headphones, but also plays loud and clear through the phone speaker/earpiece. I could not figure out why it would not just play through the headphones. (I have tried a pair of apple earbuds, as well as basic Sony ones).

I never noticed it before today, but my Eris is definitely not disabling music playback through the eternal speaker when I plug headphones (or an adapter, or anything) into the headphone jack. Sound still comes through the earbuds or headphones nice and crisp, just the speaker is ALSO playing the same sound, at the same volume.
This sort of defeats the purpose of one of the main reasons I use headphones- to mute sound for everyone but me. I tried different music players, different headphones, made sure the phone knew they were non-mic headphones, everything. I can't find a setting to tell the speaker to disable when headphones are in- isn't it supposed to be automatic?
I notice that if I use bluetooth headphones, I can only use them with the default music player, which is a big drag since it kind of blows. If I delete the music player in the adb shell, will that fix the problem so I can use a different music app?

View 25 Replies View RelatedOn my way to work I use the headphones attached to my Incredible to listen to iHeartRadio/Padora, etc. Once I get to work I make sure I kill the applications that I am not using, including the music applications. Once they are killed I remove the headphones from the phone. The problem is that once I remove the headphones, the music application automatically starts and plays over the speaker on the phone eventhough the applications were killed before I disconnect the headphones. The only way to stop the music from playing is to task kill it again after I disconnect the headphones.I am using the headphones supplied by the Blackberry Storm that have the microphone.

It'll work normal and then all of a sudden itll switch to a headset icon and the music messes up. I have to take out the headphones and plug them back in, and on Pandora I have to switch songs also. This is particularly noticeable on the small in ear headphones/earbuds during quiet portions of music, or if you have music playing and turn the volume down to zero, and for a short time after pausing music (until the audio jack is powered down. Is anyone else having these issues? Can anyone confirm that some phones do not have this issue?
I love the phone but this is almost a dealbreaker for me as it somewhat kills the whole idea of not needing a separate music player, though it can be somewhat worked around by headphones with online volume controls, decreasing volume by about half and boosting iron the phone.
Is there any way to mod the radio so that it can be listened to without headphones through the speaker? It's frustrating that it's required to have headphones on in order to turn on the radio.

I had a bunch of music saved on my SD Card that I downloaded from VZW Music Media thing.
When I go to music on the Incredible and go over the song (it shows the picture of the album of the song)
it says "unable to play this type of audio"

I was really disappointed to find this appears to be an issue with these phones as my old N95 Bluetooth music connection to my car was top notch (and that is a 2+ year old phone!?)...
I got a 3.5mm audio jack, plugged the phone in to the stereo and it works a treat (even better sound quality). Now the problem I have is that when I connect the phone via Bluetooth to the hands free phone call function it automatically shuts of the music playing through the 3.5mm cable as the phone assumes I want to play the music via the Bluetooth!! Can I tell the phone to connect to the car stereo for the telephone function and via the cable for the music function?
2 weeks ago i tried to play music with a Bluetooth device in a car and when i clicked play 2 things happen: 1.it tried to play, but was stuck on 0:00 2.it crashed on Google music it poped a message "couldn't play the track you requested" and then the DSP manager crashed.
yesterday i tried it again on a different Bluetooth in a different car, same thing.
I've downloaded every app on the store and none of them worked, i think the problem is the ROM because it worked before and then i changed it.
