May 27, 2010Is there anyway off changing your scene to say 'car' and it turning on GPS, Bluetooth and then going back to a scene called home and it turns them off and turns wifi on (I've tried that but it doesn't seem to work) or an app that can do this (with out GPS enabled) for me.

HTC EVO 4G :: Different Screen Timeout / Bluetooth / Profile Settings For Each Scene?
Aug 4, 2010Is there a way to set different bluetooth, screen timeout, and profile settings for each scene on the Evo? I use Pandora and the music player in the car. The problem is my bluetooth headset is set to play media audio so I have to change that every time I get in and out of the car. And I don't want the display shutting off either, so I have to change that every time I get in and out of the car. While I'm at it, is there a way to set a different profile (vibrate, normal, silent) on different Scenes? That's another thing that I find myself manually changing more often than I would like. I'm thinking the "Scenes" feature of Sense would be ideal for this. Just set up the apps you want, the profile settings, display settings, etc, and save that Scene. But I can't make it save any settings other than the wallpaper and widgets/shortuts.Does anyone know how I could go about this? Even is it's not possible in Sense, is there another way to do it?

Mar 3, 2010I just got my eris so i was experimenting with apps. I was reading a thread about Lockbot and decided to see what it was all about.. I messed with it for a few mins and decided i didn't like it so i uninstalled it. When i pushed the home button a menu pushed up that said something along the lines of "Home or Sence" (or something like that) and i chose sence because i was curious. Now my home screen is completely different and lost my custom scene.

Sep 15, 2010For some reason my wifi will completely disconnect about a minute after starting a phone call when bluetooth is on. If I turn off BT, wifi comes right back on. I can use phone without bt, wifi on, no problems.

HTC Incredible :: ROM Handle Bluetooth And Wifi Simultaneously?
Oct 1, 2010Tried 4 ROMs so far, Skyraider 2.5.2 and 3.0, and Virtuous 2.7 and 3.0. My wifi completely turns itself off about a minute after beginning a phone call while on bluetooth. Can anyone please confirm if your wifi stays on and connected while on a bluetooth call, and if so, what ROM, radio and kernel are you running?

HTC Incredible :: Be Connected To WiFi And Bluetooth At Same Time With Froyo?
Sep 8, 2010I listen to music at work with some Bluetooth speakers. I also occasionally connect to WiFi while at work. Since the Froyo update if I am connected to both Wifi and Bluetooth while listening to music, the bluetooth will turn itself on and off over and over again. This did not happen to me prior to the Froyo update.I guess my question is, can we not be running and be connected to WiFi and Bluetooth at the same time with Froyo?

Jul 5, 2010I've just started playing with Android in the last few days and have begun to put together a simple application. I am struggling to work out whether I'm doing things the "right" way or just making life difficult for myself.The app displays a series of connected nodes on the screen, similar to a mind-map. I want to be able to tap the nodes in order to edit them. When the map of nodes becomes larger than the screen, I need to be able to scroll on both X and Y axes as needed to see the whole map. Image of current implementation at http://ubergeek.org.uk/images/nodetest.png.Currently I don't have scrolling working, however I assume that I can do that by making the root view a ScrollView and sticking an AbsoluteLayout inside that (though it's deprecated, I wish to place objects at specific X/Y coordinates).The nodes themselves are currently each a pair of roundrects (one for the outline and one for the fill) and a drawText and are being drawn in the main activity's onDraw(). In order to make these clickable buttons I believe I need to create a custom view for the button in order to use its onClick() events. I can then create a view object for each of my nodes and add them to the AbsoluteLayout view.Does this sound like a reasonable way to do it in Android, or is this a horrible abuse of the API?

Oct 8, 2010I have an ExpandableListView that I want to populate with my custom views of type NoteView. NoteView extends LinearLayout and contains two buttons and a checkbox. I have almost everything working, the NoteView's are being populated with backing data, the lists are getting filled, and the buttons are clickable and perform the required tasks.
The problem is the ExpandableListView no longer responds to click/longclick/keypress events at all (other than selecting list items with trackball/DPAD).
I replaced my custom view with a standard TextView and the touch events flowed normally again, so it is almost certainly something I am doing wrong with my custom view or some obscure ListView setting I am overlooking.
Here is my NoteView code and XML Layout. What am I missing?

Android :: Sharing Wifi With Bluetooth Or Wifi?
Jul 28, 2010I have a single user access to a Wifi device on my macbook. I'd like to use my HTC evo and sisters iPhone on the Wifi also. Is there any way I can broadcast the wifi from one of my devices. I know if I had my laptop hardwired I could share the Wifi, but I've not found anything to do Wifi to Wifi. or Wifi to Bluetooth. Any know, I don't have data plans on the cell phones as I am out of town.

UITabBar essentially is a battery of buttons exhibiting a TAB like behavior: every button maps to an activity. I have two solutions for this: 1. In the layout XML for every activity, I insert a <LinearLayout><Button/><Button/><Button/></LinearLayout> element. And then have a common listener class that will handle the button clicks. So, every activity will have an instance of this listener. 2. To create a custom Widget extending LinearLayout class, put all the buttons as its static members and let it handle the button clicks. Include this custom control in every screen. I am not sure which approach to follow.

General :: Add Custom Buttons (shortcuts) To Tablet System Bar
Apr 12, 2012Most of the tablets with android 3+ have this large black bar at the bottom. I'm not sure how it is called but I mean this bar where the clock, back and home button and the notification icons are on.
On the middle area of this bar there is always much space depending on the number of notifications on the right.
My idea was to use this space for shortcuts to apps or tasker tasks. Just like in windows the Quick Launch Toolbar on the task bar.
But until now I haven't found any solution.
Here is what I have:
I'm using tasker scenes to build my own shortcut buttons. Then I displayed these buttons as always on top and half transparent directly on the screen in the normal application display area. It seems that tasker is not able to display these buttons over the system bar. So this isn't a complete solution of my problem since the free display space on the bar is still not in use.
On the other hand I do know that it must be possible to program apps which are overlayed on the system bar since other apps can be placed over it.
Anyway... I'm searching for a clean solution to get shortcuts on the system bar to start apps or tasker tasks with one click or touch.
